3 CASUAL FALL OUTFITS OVER 50 WITH ONE TOP
Yesterday was a long day. Like many others around the globe, I watched the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. I read there could be up to 4 billion watching the funeral, which is over half of the world’s population. The tradition and majesty of the funeral procession fitted for Britain’s longest-serving monarch. I am an American, but I had great respect for the Queen, and I wanted to watch her final public viewing.
3 CASUAL FALL OUTFITS OVER 50 WITH ONE TOP
Some of my most viewed posts are on how to stretch your wardrobe. One of the ways to stretch your wardrobe is by wearing articles of clothing in multiple ways. So, today I’m styling 3 casual fall outfits with one top.
Casual Fall Outfit Over 50 – Chino’s
Of course, you need to start with one fabulous blouse, but we’ll get to that in just a minute. The first casual fall outfit I wanted to style was with chinos. Chinos are versatile pants to have in your closet since they can be styled dressy or casually. You can wear chinos with heels like I am here or with sneakers, as I did in this post. This flat-front beige pair fits great, and I love the length. When I wear them with sneakers, I cuff the hem for a more casual style. These run TTS and are also available in navy and olive.
I wanted to show how you could dress up a pair of chinos, so I added my nude slingback sandals. I love these nude sandals since they can be worn with almost anything all year round, depending on your weather. I’ll probably retire them for the winter since we have snow and ice, but if you live in a warmer climate, you could wear them.
I wanted to add accessories like my Adeline Earrings, Michelle Watch, and David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet. These accessories don’t draw attention, so you can wear them every day without drawing attention to them. The beige dumpling bag is one I bought on clearance, so it isn’t available, but I did link two similar ones.
Casual Fall Outfit Over 50 – Girlfriend Jeans
The Chinos are a dressy/casual look, so I wanted to show you a strictly casual outfit. I wear jeans probably 80-90 percent of the time when I walk out the door. If I’m working around the house, you’ll probably find me in a pair of Lululemon leggings; they are my absolute favorite for soft, cozy, and casual at-home wear.
You might have wondered if I was ever going to tell you about this floral tie waist blouse. This 100% cotton top is cute and flattering, and I love the soft, muted fall colors. The floral pattern is almost neutral since nothing jumps out at you, making it easier to style in multiple ways. The top has oversized or puff sleeves and a tie waist giving it some unique details. The sizes are limited, and only XS and S remain. Here are a few similar blouse options.
This photo gives you a view of the length of the blouse, plus you can see how the jeans and shoes fit.
This Olive Green handbag is an easy way to bring out the olive color of the blouse. Olive Green is hot this year, and you can find it in stores everywhere. I’ve recently come to embrace this color, even though it was one I thought I couldn’t wear in the past. A handbag is a great way to introduce the color into your wardrobe if it doesn’t look good with your skintone.
I love Wit & Wisdom jeans! These jeans fit nicely, are stylish, and are affordable! The slight distressing is a modern detail and gives the jeans a casual look. These are a girlfriend fit which means they will be roomy but not oversized. I loved the kicked-back vibe of these jeans, and I can’t wait to wear them with a white t-shirt and a pair of white sneakers. I’m wearing my usual size 8, and they have a relaxed look I wanted.
Casual Fall Outfit Over 50 – Wide Leg Crops
Wide leg crops are an item that looks great in the fall. The legs accommodate a higher shaft boot, and the length lets the boot show.
For this casual fall outfit over 50, I wanted to highlight the olive green print in the blouse. Anytime a piece of clothing contains multiple colors, it is easy to highlight one of the colors through clothing or accessories. Today I’ve highlighted olive with my choice of handbags and these cropped pants.
This pair of Wide Leg Crop Pants are from SPANX, and I love SPANX clothing. There is one thing that SPANX knows, and that’s a woman’s body. Their clothing fits like a dream, holds you in where you need to be held, and accentuates the parts of your body that are your best assets. But, most of their clothing runs small, and it is not cheap. I’m wearing a large in these crops, which are still snug on me. I’ll see if I can find some similar options and link those below.
These pointed-toe block heel mules look great for fall. They have a slightly western vibe which is a big trend this fall. I like the unique detail of the braiding that goes across the foot. These mules are faux suede, affordable, and under $40. The shoes are also available in Cognac, a rich color that will look good with all your fall outfits.
I think that covers everything. Today is the last day to enter the giveaway for a pair of Kate Spade earrings. If you’ve not yet entered, go to this post and leave a comment to be entered.
I also got several emails and DMs on IG asking about my mascara, my eyelashes, and what foundation I use. I’ve been using Essence Mascara for a while, and I love it. It is only $4.99, so you can’t beat the price! My daughter tried the I Love Extreme Volume Mascara, and she said it was even better, so I ordered it to try. The mascara is what lets my blonde lashes show, but the reason they look so long is that I use Lash Boost. I started using Lash Boost in September 2016, and I had tiny lashes, so I can’t say enough about this fantastic product. The foundation I use is Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid by Rodan and Fields. I use two colors, one light and one slightly darker. I mix the two colors to get the perfect shade for my skin. I use more of the lighter shade in the winter, and in the summer, when I have a tan, I use more of the darker color.
Now is a fantastic time to try Rodan and Fields since I’ll be reimbursing your one-time PC Enrollment fee of 19.95, and R+F is giving you an EXTRA 15% off once you become my Preferred Customer. Well, I think all three looks are great on you. For me, my preferences are: olive green wide legged cropped pants, cream chinos, then the W&W jeans.
Love this too and how you’ve styled it! I just returned from London and it was a wonderful trip. The Queen passed while we were there which was sad. Watching her funeral was unreal to me thinking I had just walked those same streets. We didn’t get to visit Windsor as it closed but we saw most everything else before heading to Nottingham and a few other nearby towns. Thanks again for your blog and videos! You are an inspiration.
I like all 3, but I would wear the outfit with the jeans. I love the purse in the picture with the olive pants!
Just started following! Love the different stores to shop at and you always look sharp and give us great ideas!
Absolutely love wearing army or olive green pants and
Jackets. Don’t have that color purse however…
All 3 nice, probably first most flattering on you! Have a great day y’all, 🌻
I like the blouse and was pleased to see the colors show differently with the different changes of pants. my favorite was the jeans.
Audrey, I’m glad to see that you noticed the difference. Doing that is something I do all the time.
I don’t have a favorite, all 3 outfits are great. I love the top and never noticed it when looking at their web site.
The top looks much nicer on than it does hanging up. I almost didn’t try it on, and then I loved it.
I really like all of your outfits, except I can’t wear shoes with that high of a heel. That’s okay, because I have plenty of shoes I can wear. However, what most spoke to me today was the scripture. It spoke to me and was exactly what I needed. Thank you for sharing scripture.
Patt, you can adapt any of my outfits to fit your lifestyle, especially the shoes.
I like all the outfits- but absolutely love the one with the spanx wide legs!!
That olive color is so pretty and a great neutral.
I think all 3 looked really nice. I liked the first one the best. the 3rd one I could even wear to work. I have those shoes! They are great! got them a couple weeks ago. Enjoy your day!
Cheryl, it was hard for me to choose which one I liked the best.
I follow you here and on Facebook and Instagram. Thank you for all the hard work you put in.
Thanks, Cathy! I appreciate you following me on my social platforms.
