The Day Before The Night Before Christmas
Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. Of course, everyone loves getting gifts, but it has always been the decorations that I loved. I used to put up a Christmas tree in EVERY room, including the bathrooms. Most would be store-bought trees, but I usually had at least one real tree. My daughter even counted all the “trees” that I had in the living room one year. There was around 20 or more trees of some type. Lol! As the years have gone by, my decorating for Christmas has gotten smaller. All of the children have moved out of our house, and I just don’t have the motivation to go all out. Getting all the stuff out of the storage building, deciding what to use, putting up the chosen items, and putting the rest back in storage, is a real pain. Then, of course you have to take it all back down, and put everything back in storage.I always leave my decorations up till New Years day. But, one year it started raining right after Christmas, and rained non stop for several weeks. The ground was so muddy to the storage building, that we left everything up waiting for the ground to dry out. By the end of January, my husband said he liked everything decorated, and to just leave it up. I think is was March before everything finally came down. HahahaBefore we get into this outfit, I just want to say, OMG!!! Jo-Lynne Shane, my blogging inspiration, just pinned this outfit of mine on Pinterest. Someone pinch me, just not real hard. Haha  Okay, I bought this cute little dress/tunic at Ross’s this past weekend. I was not even looking for anything for myself, but who can pass up something this cute? The red tassel made it a little difficult in trying to find a necklace to wear, however, I like the long tassel necklace that I got at Cato’s. I think the two tassels just play off of each other. Here is a similar dress.I have on my Renegade bracelet from Stella & Dot, along with a crocheted cuff bracelet. Blessed is written on the cuff, and it also has leather trim.I have on a pair of dark brown tights and a pair of chunky heel boots. The boots are a pair I bought at TJ Maxx years ago. The inside of these boots are completely fur-lined, even on the bottom. Mine says Made in Italy, but here is a pair from Talbots.I brought out my red Dooney & Bourke purse for this outfit. I liked how well it looked with the red in the dress and tassel. I wish I could find a purse I think is similar for you gurls, cause I really like this purse. Maybe one day I’ll find one.A couple of you sent me photos, so that I can do a post featuring the “gurls”. If you haven’t sent a photo yet, email me one to:  fiftyisnotold@gmail.com  I’ll try to do the post in January, so that gives you a few days to have a picture taken. As a child my sister and I had an album that we played over and over at Christmas. Our favorite song was, The Day Before The Night Before Christmas.

I am not alone ! Looking forward to reading more…thanks for rockin’ the over 50 spunk!
I am inspired….Happy New Year ! Barb
Barbara, I am so glad you “stumbled” on my blog. Normally I would not want someone to stumble, but when it comes to my blog, I make an exception. Hahaha
Love the dress on you and the necklace looks great with it. I have been enjoying your blog. Merry Christmas.
Oh my gosh, can this outfit get any more fabulous!!! Love it, love it, love it!!! Even your nails are painted perfectly to match – have mercy! I have a tip for Christmas decorating and NOT storing everything away until next year. It’s lazy, I know, but it works for me. lol! If you have an artificial tree that’s not too wide or tall, and if you have a three-panel Oriental screen, just throw some clear plastic drop cloths over the tree and place the screen in front of it. This works especially well in the corner of a room. Next year, simply move the screen and remove the drop cloths and voila! The Christmas tree is already done!
Kimberly that made me giggle. I tried leaving it decorated one year, but I was moving it to the garage and most of the decorations were falling off. Epic fail!!!
Very cute outfit and a great find. I love Christmas decorations and it is work but it looks so lovely when it’s done. I am in jeans and gym shoes right now because I am cooking up a storm for our Christmas Eve gathering. Maybe I will post what I wear to church later. Merry Christmas to you, your family and all the “girls” who love fashion and your blog!
Love the tunic! I have tried to wear them but I am all boobs and bum with a smaller waist I find if I find one to fit the girls, I end up looking like I have the shape of an Oompa Loompa. ????
You however, look smashing in a tunic. ❤️
The dress is adorable on you! I like the way you styled it. A forgiving dress is just the ticket for this time of year. Happy Christmas! Hope Santa is good to you…
Another beautiful outfit!! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. I will try to send a photo!
Cute song! The line about “cleaning out my ears” reminds me of my favorite Asian New Year tradition of cleaning the house and even shampooing your hair to make room for good luck. Couldn’t we all use that?
I like that tip, Kim. We can all use a little good luck! Merry Christmas????
Super cute outfit, Tania! Your blog is def my favorite – I look forward to it every day. Merry Christmas!!
Wow! Thanks, DJ! You gurls are starting to put pressure on me. Hahaha????
