2026 Summer Jewelry Trends: Bright, Bold, and Beach-Ready

If you’ve been paying attention to accessories this season, you’ve probably noticed that jewelry is getting a lot more fun. After years of tiny chains and barely-there pieces, the 2026 summer jewelry trends are all about color, personality, and pieces that actually show up.

Think colorful beads, chunky cuffs, coastal-inspired earrings, charm necklaces, oversized earrings, and jewelry that can make a simple linen dress or white tank look like you meant to put together a whole outfit. I am all for that, especially in the summer when I do not want to add one more layer unless it is absolutely necessary.

That is one of the reasons I love jewelry so much. A great necklace, cuff bracelet, or fun pair of earrings can completely change the look of an outfit without making you hotter than a biscuit in July. And at this stage of life, I want accessories that feel current, but I do not want to look like I raided my granddaughter’s jewelry box.

Today, I’m sharing some of the biggest summer jewelry trends for 2026, along with wearable ways to try them after 50. I do not own every single piece in this post, and I’m not going to pretend I do. But I did just get in a few BaubleBar pieces that fit these trends perfectly, so I’ll be sharing how I would wear them and what to look for if you want to try the trend without going overboard.

The best thing about this year’s jewelry trends is that they are not about piling on everything you own and hoping for the best. Nobody needs to look like they tripped and fell into the jewelry counter.

The goal is to choose one or two pieces that add interest to your outfit. That might be a colorful beaded necklace with a simple dress, a gold cuff with a sleeveless top, or a coastal-inspired pair of earrings with white jeans and sandals. Jewelry should make your outfit feel more finished, not fussier.

Colorful Beaded Jewelry Is Everywhere for Summer 2026

I have the Red Jasper Joan Semi-Precious Necklace, and this is the kind of piece I like because it adds color but still feels grown-up. Red jasper has a warm, earthy look, so it does not feel too trendy or too young. I would wear it with a striped sweater, a white button-up, a simple tee, or even a casual summer dress.

Summer Jewelry – Beaded Bracelets + Necklaces

Colorful beaded jewelry is one of the easiest summer trends to wear because it adds instant personality to simple outfits. If you wear a lot of white, navy, denim, linen, or neutrals in the summer, this is a great way to bring in color without buying a closet full of bright clothing.

The trick with colorful beads after 50 is to pay attention to the scale and the finish. A necklace with natural stones, polished beads, or richer colors usually looks more elevated than plastic-looking beads. That does not mean jewelry has to be expensive, but it does need to look intentional.

If you are nervous about colorful jewelry, start small. Try a beaded bracelet stack or a necklace with one main color instead of a rainbow of every color known to man. Joe would probably call that “efficient,” but I call it easing into the trend without scaring yourself when you pass a mirror.

Shell-Inspired Jewelry Brings Coastal Charm

Shells, fish, starfish, coral, and ocean-inspired details are showing up everywhere for summer 2026. The good news is that this trend has grown up. These are not the puka shell necklaces from years ago, thank goodness. Some things deserve to stay in the photo albums with our questionable haircuts.

This season’s coastal jewelry feels more polished, especially when it is done in gold tones, pearls, sculptural shapes, or refined shell details. I just got the BaubleBar Ripple Effect Fish Earrings, the Gold Coral Cuff Bracelet, and the Maui Charm Necklace, and all three fit this coastal trend beautifully.

The Ripple Effect Fish Earrings are a fun way to try the trend because they add a little whimsy without taking over the entire outfit. I would wear them with a white linen dress, a blue striped shirt, or a simple tank and wide-leg pants. Fish jewelry can get kitschy fast, so I like it best when the rest of the outfit is simple and classic.

The Gold Coral Cuff Bracelet is probably the easiest piece to wear because a gold cuff goes with almost everything. It gives you that beachy, sculptural feel without screaming “vacation souvenir.” I would wear it with sleeveless dresses, linen tops, or even a plain white tee and jeans. It is the kind of piece that makes a simple outfit look finished.

The Maui Charm Necklace is a good option if you like the coastal trend but want something more playful. Charm necklaces are having a moment, and this one brings in that beach-ready feel without having to wear shells from head to toe. I would keep the earrings simple with this one, so the necklace can be the main event.

Summer Jewelry – Americana

Red, white, and blue jewelry is having a big moment this summer, but it does not have to be limited to the Fourth of July. A simple pair of star earrings, a red bracelet, or a blue beaded necklace can add a fun pop of color to summer outfits.

I like this trend best when it is not too literal. You do not need stars, stripes, fireworks, and the national anthem playing in the background. One small nod is plenty.

Try red earrings with a white dress, a blue necklace with a linen shirt, or a patriotic bracelet stack with denim shorts or white jeans. These pieces are especially easy to wear for cookouts, beach trips, lake days, and summer gatherings.

Summer Jewelry – Charm Necklaces

Charm necklaces are one of those trends that can go two different directions. Done well, they look fun, personal, and stylish. Done poorly, they can look like something you made at summer camp. And listen, I loved summer camp crafts as much as anyone, but I do not need to wear them to lunch.

The key is choosing charm necklaces that have a little weight, shine, or meaning. Coastal charms, gold coins, pearls, shells, and meaningful symbols all work well, especially when the chain looks nice and the charms are not too tiny.

Colorful Maui Charm Necklace from Baublebar

This is where the BaubleBar Maui Charm Necklace fits beautifully. It has that vacation-inspired look that works with summer dresses, white jeans, linen outfits, and even swimsuits with a cover-up. I would style it with a simple neckline so the charms have room to show.

Evil Eye Charm Necklace from Baublebar

The Evil Eye Charm Necklace can also work in this post, but I would treat it as a slightly different version of the charm trend. It is not beachy in the same way as shells or coral, but it fits the idea of meaningful jewelry. If you prefer jewelry with a little symbolism, this is a good option. I would wear it with a white tee, a denim jacket, or a casual black dress when I want something simple yet interesting.

I love that jewelry is getting more fun again, but I still think we have to be picky. Not every trend deserves space in our jewelry drawer. Some pieces are cute in theory, but will sit there untouched while we reach for the same three things over and over.

If you want to try one thing from this post, I would start with either a colorful necklace or a coastal-inspired item. Those will give you the most impact and still work with the summer clothes you already own.
