50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEAnd just like that, another year has quickly gone by. Three years ago my sister, published author of Last in a Long Line of Rebels and Hope in the Holler (available as a pre-order) tried to talk me into starting a blog. She was the writer of the family and I had no real expertise in any area so I basically ignored her. She kept on and on trying to talk me into doing it and even went so far as to buy me a domain name in order to get me started. Still, I did nothing. For some reason though she had planted a seed and I kept thinking about getting up the nerve to start a blog. I mean, how hard could it be? Lol!!! Talk about naive, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEI decided one weekend that it was going to gnaw at me until I at least gave this blogging thing a try so I sat down and went to work. The first thing I did was to buy a domain name since the one my sister had bought for me a year earlier had expired. I wanted something easy to remember and easy to type since I knew I would have to type it over and over again. Then I signed up for the free version of WordPress and started looking as themes. All weekend long I watched YouTube videos and searched on Google how to do this or that. It was pretty hard since I was trying to do it all by myself. I finally called my sister and confessed what I was up to and she helped me by showing me what all the widgets and plugins did. This is my very first picture that was published on September 6, 2015, and here is my very first post. Don’t blink or you will miss it. Gracious, that was only a paragraph but it probably took me forever to write. I had no idea how to “link” to clothes or even how to find them on the computer. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEI couldn’t believe that people actually found my little blog! I hadn’t told anyone, not even Joe, about the blog. I was afraid that people would laugh at me and make fun of me. It was probably some time in November when Joe demanded to know why I was taking pictures of myself in the mornings. He was dumbfounded when I said, “I might have a blog.” I brought it up to show him and I told him that I actually had ladies who were looking at it. I don’t think he was very impressed at the time. Lol! Especially when I told him that I wanted a pair of Hunter Boots since all the “bloggers” were wearing them. Hahaha! I tried to be like everyone else who blogged, I wanted the boots and I wanted to wear clothing like they did but it just wasn’t me. I finally settled down and just decided to be me. Amazingly, I started getting comments that said, “I like that you are a real person.” So all that time I had tried to be like everyone else was for nothing, you gurls saw right through that. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEBack in February 2016, I was already starting to push you gurls out of your comfort zone. I can’t believe I waited until I was in my mid 50’s to start a new career. I didn’t know that blogging could be a career or even how to make money from the blog but I knew that I was looking for something that I could do from anywhere in the world. I wanted to be able to retire one day and still have an income and this was an avenue that I wanted to pursue.50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEI started introducing you to color. I had no idea that so many of you were living in a black, gray, and navy world. I probably should have known that since I am describing my sister. I love wearing color and I am not afraid to push the boundaries sometimes. Granted, there have been times when I look back at some of my photos and thought, “what in the world were you thinking???”  50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO METhis is one year ago. Things have changed and yet things have stayed the same. The biggest thing I notice is that I didn’t have any eyelashes back then. Lol!!! Of course, I would notice that. Hahaha! Here are the stats that I posted from last year.

I just want to share with you a few stats after one year:

  • I have now had 9,630 comments left on the blog
  • I average over 200,000 pageviews a month
  • My pageviews for the year is now 1,558,515
  • I have done 362 posts

The stats for this past year have changed just a little:

  • I now have 24,068 comments left on the blog
  • I average over 300,000 pageviews a month
  • My pageviews are now at 4,822,115
  • I have done 727 posts

50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO MEI have introduced you to my family and invited you into my life. I hope you have enjoyed being a part of 50 Is Not Old as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to you. I look forward to celebrating many more years with you if you will have me.

You know that I have to have a giveaway to celebrate this occasion. Since I am so enamored with Alex and Ani bracelets I thought you might like one for yourself. This is the Key To Life Charm Bangle and here is what Alex and Ani say about this bracelet:

Life is a series of experiences, leading us on a path that ultimately defines us as individuals. When we realize we have the power to unlock our destiny, we hold the key to life. Use positive, conscious thinking and the decisions you make will express your personal power.

  1. I have been reading your blog for a few months. I came across it while I was surfing on Pinterest for fashion for 50 ish women. I was hooked. I love your stories and your wit. I’m a California gal but enjoy your southern charm. I also enjoy your Sunday inspirational thoughts.

    • I enjoy your blog so much. I ran across it in Pinterest I believe looking for fashion for 50 yr olds. I always seemed to dress to young for my age and started looking at what was appropriate. I love your style. Although you are blonde and I am brunette I find a lot that I can copy. Thanks for doing all the work you do to entertain us. Keep the posts coming.

  2. I have been reading for almost a year. I write a blog as well and turn 50 this year, I enjoy your writing and love the fashion! I even bought a pair of Pixie pants from Old Navy the other day because of you!

  3. You said it, you are a real gal that writes like a real gal & dresses like a real gal. You are you! Love that!

  4. Hi lovely Tania
I live in a beautiful country setting all the way down in the South Island of New Zealand close to Mt Hutt (a ski mountain) in an area NZ’ers call the High Country. I’m surrounded by gorgeousness and am very fortunate to live here, only an hour from Christchurch International Airport which I need to get to quite regularly (!) as I manage corporate travel incentives that take me to other glorious places in NZ, Australia, SE Asia etc.
I found you on Printerest and was immediately captivated by how beautiful you are not only on the outside, but also the inside. As for the costume jewelry, well… you really have a gift for putting that together, gurl! Being in the Southern Hemisphere I’m champing at the bit for some warmer weather to arrive so I can wear some lighter outfits as you’ve been showing me over the last few months.
I love the essence of the Key to Life charm bangle and I’ve made the following my mantra for the next week. “I have the power to unlock my destiny and hold the key to life. I use positive, conscious thinking and the decisions I make will express my personal power.”
It’s lovely to receive your posts and I appreciate your openness as often I’m thinking the same thing!

  5. Hello Tania,
Athough I have not been following you that long, maybe 8 months, I first noticed you on my search for fashion over fifty on Pinterest. Funny how so many of us may have found you that way. Sure was a need to reach out to other women for advice and knowledge about fashion as we gracefully get better with age! I too feel blessed with the Sunday blog and really look forward now to the blog more than the fashion. It’s nice to be invited in, introduced and welcomed. To share the loved of our Lord Jesus Christ and minister in this way to so many. Keep up the fabulous work.
    In Him,
    Caed 💕🕊🌸

  6. Hi Tanya! I have been reading your blog for almost a year now. Every night at midnight central time I read your daily post. I love to know where your clothes are from, then I proceed to shop for items that I like. (My husband doesn’t necessarily like it). 😮 Thank you for the peek into your life and the life of your family.

  7. I have been reading your blog since mid 2016 as I came across it when I was searching pinterest and fashion tips for women in their 50’s. I like your colours, your photos, your fashion choices and tips. I feel that even though you live far away from me (in Australia) and that you are in the opposite seasons to me, I really enjoy learning from and with you.
You have shared some of your family stories and adventures and you have introduced me to Rodan and Fields. I always check your blog each day, and although I don’t always comment, it is my daily treat. I have made another friend. I do talk about your blog with all my friends here too. Thank you from Tracey.

  8. I’ve been reading your blog for over a year and always find your posts so real, down-to-earth and optimistic. Like lots of other readers, I was looking for blogs for women over 40 (not just for fashion, but I’ve certainly gotten a lot of inspiration from your outfit ideas). Thanks for bringing a little extra color into my world!

I love your blog and look forward to reading it everyday. I just found it earlier this summer and I really enjoy seeing your fashion choices for us “more mature” gals and also your jewelry choices 😊 I really appreciate the fact that you do a post every day. The icing on the cake is that you share your love of Christ in your Sunday posts. Thank you so much for what you do!

  10. I’ve been reading your blog for about a year, I think. Don’t remember how I found you but I look forward to hearing from you every day. I enjoy your fashion choices & altho my choices have become simpler since retirement, when I “go out” to more than the grocery store, I tend to add a bit more “bling”. I have a lot of jewelry but seldom wore it before watching you. Your Sunday notes have inspired me … I particularly remember “Pray big”. Love meeting your family & hearing of all your adventures. Blessings to you all.

  11. I have been reading your blog for over a year. I was looking for a fashion blog for women over 50 that wasn’t just casual wear but also included work wear. Love you sharing your family with us and your Sunday posts. Congratulations on your two year anniversary and your ever increasing amount of readers.

  12. Congratulations, Tania! I think that I started looking for interesting blogs in October, 2015, and yours has been one that I have followed since then. I enjoy your stories of small town life and the fact that you are a bargain shopper!

  13. I’ve been following you for about 6 months. I discovered your blog on Pinterest when it came across my feed. I am one of those black, gray, and navy ladies since I’ve gotten older. However, reading your blog has inspired me to add color to my wardrobe. And although I’ve always worn jewelry, my choices have become bolder as I experiment with different styles and pieces.

Congratulations on your blogiversary and best wishes for many more years.

Love that I am first this morning to tell you that you have had an impact on my life. What started as a quick glance on advice from my sister, (“check out this blog….she is closer to our age and puts herself together really well”) turned into a renewed effort to look current and a newly developed love for jewelry and accessories. Along the way, I found a way to support a foundation that I believe in through a little company that I love. So Happy Anniversary and Thank You for putting yourself out there and encouraging us to as well!

Hi Tania, my name is Brenda and I’ve never done this before. lol I have been following you for about 2 months now. i am following you because I’m 55 and wanted to know how to dress at my age. I’m shy and your blog has helped me pick out clothes I wouldn’t normally wear and jewelry. I actually bought a long necklace (something I wouldn’t do before.) Looking at you gives me hope to feel stylish and pretty. I love that you’re funny, real and a Christian. I really appreciate all the time you’ve put into helping us. Really! Have a nice day.

  20. I found your blog about 6 months ago and I love the realness about it. Its a decoupage of life and fashion and love for Jesus. Keep up the good work. I have my cup of coffee with you every morning.☺️❤️

Hi Tania happy Anniversary I am following you for about a year I always loved clothes and fashion but I had lost confidence in my style after putting on a bit of weight and was stuck in the black/dark clothes make u slimmer (not)phase trying to fade into a corner and then I got cancer which I survived TG and decided enough was enough and I started browsing over 50’s style and you stood out I loved that fact that you weren’t a 6ft model you were a real person and I LOVED that you wore colour and as everybody else has said you were a real person that I could see myself having a coffee and a laugh with so THANK YOU for your blog and cheering me up every day with your words and style (and where would we be without our sister)😘

  22. Happy 2nd Anniversary Tania & Congratulations !!!! I have been reading your blog for over a year. I cannot remember how I found you. At that time I was going through a personal trial/battle in my life. I would search fashion online to take my mind off of it. I do pray and spend time with God every morning as I could not imagine my life without God. He is definitely carrying me through it as it is not over. However, I needed another outlet (without drama from certain people) and that’s when I found you. You make me laugh, you give me color/fashion combination ideas to try and I “always” enjoy your inspiring Sunday post. I think it is awesome how you share stories about your family, your lumber business and when you travel especially when you post family and travel pics. I feel like I know you even though we have never met. I have said many times that you are “real”. I like that you style affordable pieces as many bloggers style pieces that are way out of my budget. As I have said before, there is so much negative in this world and this world keeps wanting to take God out of it so Tania, my friend you are the “positive” in this world and more importantly as a Christian, thank you for sharing your faith. Continued blessings to you. ~Lisa~

I am so grateful for your posts each day. You have a gift! Keep shining your light, Tania!! Happy Anniversary and best wishes for many, many more.

  33. I first came across your picture several months ago (you were wearing a pink sweater and a colorful chiffon scarf) while searching on Pinterest for new hairstyle ideas. I really admired your style and I have followed your blog ever since. You have helped me break out of the gray, black, beige world I was trapped in and be more adventuresome with my own wardrobe choices. I have gotten many compliments lately so I think I must be on the right track. Happy Blogaversary, gurl! Keep on doing what you do.

  34. I was introduced to your blog by a friend. I love your encouraging words. This season of my life is busy and sometimes just draining I can relate to so many things you write about. Your blog encourages me to be positive and enjoy life to the fullest. Oh and look cute doing it. Thank you for your honesty and letting us in on your life. You make a difference.

  35. Congratulations to you! I started following your blog not long after you started. I found a few pics on Pinterest and clicked on your sight. The variety of looks you style, have inspired me to shop for clothing and to look through my closet in an entirely diffferent way. I appreciate your hard work to inspire ladies to look fashionable in our 50 plus years! (We are the same age)😊

After all I still have a good southern mama that will say “you’re not going out looking like that are you?” Thanks again!!

  39. Happy 2nd! I have been following you for about a year and a half. I too was looking for how to look better as I age and you certainly are doing this. You are looking better and better and that’s what I want. I am trying more color and more bling. At first I thought you wrote a lot but I found that I enjoy what you have to say. Thank you for sharing your life and style.

  40. Congratulations on your anniversary! I signed up a week ago and I’m so glad. My daughter’s fashion is great, but only if you are in your 30’s. I’m enjoying your modern style for women over 50 (and beyond.) I would love to have the bracelet to wear to school. The students notice when I have a new piece of jewelry. 🙂

  41. I’ve been with you a long time! Your blog is the first thing I read with my first cup of coffee. I enjoy your fashion, honesty, kindness, and love your Sunday inspirations. (You are also somewhat in my neck of the woods, so we are often dressing for the same weather and season.)
You help me wake up with a smile and focus for my daily devotions. I look forward to “seeing” you each day!

  42. U too found you on Pinterest when I was desperate to find someone over 50 who also wanted to be fashionable. I had lost my way and wasn’t sure how to dress my new old body and frankly all those pictures of young women made me tired and depressed. I can’t compete and don’t want to. I have followed you for the past 2 years. I look at your page every morning. I don’t comment much at all. So many say it better than I do. I like the Sunday posts and especially look forward to reading them. I appreciate your genuine and open approach to life. God bless. Kathy

  43. Miss Tania, I found you on Pinterest last summer and haven’t missed a posting since!!

I had lost a lot of weight and wanted to search how I should dress after 50. So after looking at a few blogs from Pinterest I liked your photos and faith. So here I am a few months later enjoying your posts and outfit advise. Thank you for blessing me✝️❤️

  74. Congratulations! Thank you for pushing through your fears and showing us older ladies color and fashion. I’m 62 and work in retail (men’s shoes) and I don’t like to dress all in black, and I do love my jewelry! And I love your Sunday messages, it’s a great way to start the day and the week. Thank you so much for sharing!

  77. Happy anniversary!!! I’ve been following you for about 2 years and your post is a must have with my morning coffee. You’ve encouraged me to step up my fashion game, trying new looks and combinations. I am now a LOGO lover and thank you for introducing me to the line. Your Sunday posts are always inspirational and touch my soul. God bless you!

  78. It seems as many, if not all of us, found your blog through Pinterest while searching for style tips. I have been following for several months now, and I love your down to earth personality as well as your inspirational posts. Congratulations on your two-year anniversary!

  79. Hi Tania. I discovered you on Pinterest a few months ago. I’m 50 and liked the title of your blog since that’s how I feel. And you dressed so nice. I want to look up to date & not frumpy and you helped me see it’s possible at our age to do that without trying to look 20. I’ve been to a Plunder party & jewelry is pretty & nice quality. I’ll have to try some more. Best wishes for another successful year.

    • Also I live close to you in Eastern KY. So understand not having many shopping choices close by. But you prove that you don’t have to always have high-end clothes to look high-end. My sister reads your blog too. And buys your jewelry.

  80. Congratulations on your anniversary!!! I look forward to your blog everyday because your joy for life is contagious! I hope you have many, many more happy blogging years! Hugs! Lynn

  81. I have followed you for about a year when I was searching for fashion ideas for older women. Love your sense of humour, your expression of your faith, your love of family, and of course, your passion for fashion. Keep writing!!

  82. I have been following you since August 2017 – I was at a crafting retreat and another woman who follows you told me about it – I have enjoyed it ever since. I have gone outside my comfort zone at times with my colors and combinations now and have you to thank 🙂

  83. I’ve been reading your blog for a few months and I found it on Facebook looking for styles for women over 40. I love that you wear affordable pieces and often use the same purse, shoes, etc… that’s real life and what most of us have to do anyway. I like the Sunday posts, they are like a devotional!

  84. Hi Tania
Happy Anniversary! I found your blog while scrolling for women over 50 with style on Pinterest.
I never thought I would be hooked and looking forward to reading what you have to say daily. I have been having a rough time lately trying to make ends meet and losing my husband. Your blog puts a smile on my face and gives me hope that I too can come up with a plan B now that I am 60. I have thought about a blog for years but like you didn’t think I had anything to say that women would want to hear. My thinking cap is still on thanks to you and I feel like I have made a new friend. Getting out of your comfort zone is the first step and the hardest but you are truly an inspiration. I am so glad your sister nudged you along.

  85. I love all your outfits and commentary. Especially on Sundays. Love the jewelry. Found your blog about 6 months ago and love it.

  86. I stumbled on your blog approximately 6 months ago on Pinterest, while looking for clothing to Pin to my stitch fix board. I love your style and really enjoy reading your blog. You’ve become a part of morning coffee ritual, which I look forward to everyday. Thanks for doing what you do😊

  87. Good morning … I am so glad I found your blog… like others, through Pinterest … searching for ways to reinvent myself … but you have taught us to be ourselves -stand out in color -look beautiful and believe in ourselves !! I must say I am jealous of the QVC store in your town and have googled how long it would take to get there !! LOL … love it when I click on and we are wearing the same QVC outfit !! Here’s to you .. your fashion sense …your belief in God … and the way you believe in us !!! Hoping for many more wonderful mornings of happy reading !!

  88. I stumbled on to you via Pinterest. I loved your clothing and jewelry ideas-sassy and chic!! My good friend had recently lost her sister to mesothelioma and she lived in VA, was a R&F rep, I guess you just reminded me of her❤️. Following you ever since-best way to start my day-thank you for being real❤️

I have been reading your blog for over a year and a half now. I begin each day with you!!
I retired two years ago and found you. Your blog reminded me that even though I do not have to work everyday, I still need to dress and feel good about myself. Thank you for that! Love looking st your pics and hearing about your family.

  90. I just found you a couple weeks ago. I’m your age and about your size😊 You are inspiring me to rethink what I can wear. It’s always been a struggle since I’m short and not model thin. I’m now looking at colors I would never have dreamed of wearing! THANK YOU and happy anniversary!😆

  91. Hi Tania, the name of your blog caught my attention about a year ago!! I am a few years over “50”, caught in the black, white, grey, navy world of wardrobe color & so enjoy your infusion of color in fashion! So fun! Love hearing about your life, meeting your family and just following your adventures! Your blog is so fun & real…..please don’t stop the fun!!!!!

    HI Tania,
I found you on Pinterest when I was looking for fashion help for those of us over 50. When I began clicking on your pictures, I found your style spoke to me. I loves the color combinations and ideas. I love that you provide pictures of the whole outfit.

After suffering a tragedy 7 years ago, what I looked like was not something I spent time focusing on. I was going to school full time and working 2 jobs. This summer I decided to take the time to learn how to dress myself. I have a professional job and I want to look the role after 5 years of going to school to get where I am. Your blog has been an inspiration to me. In a way it feels like we are friends out shopping and you are suggesting what might look nice on me. You have become my personal stylist. Thank you for your help and inspiration! You are a blessing to me in my life, and I look forward to the daily posts.

  95. I have been following you for almost the entire 2 years. I found you on Pinterest and then signed up for your emails. I am 55 years old and struggle to find clothes that are fashionable and age appropriate. I love that you are not scared of color and that you shop at the over stock store ( my town has one also). I look forward to reading your blog every morning!!! Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary!!!!

I have been reading your blog for a few months. It’s the first thing I do every morning. I really enjoy seeing your different outfits and reading about your family. Since we are close to the same age, I’m getting lots of ideas for clothes appropiate for our age group. Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job!

  97. Hi Tania, for me turning 50 felt like wow, you are 50! I felt like I had reached a major milestone and not thrilled. But ya know, I am now past 60 and it doesn’t matter. Age is just a number! I found you over on Pinterest I think, and enjoyed seeing what you were putting together. I look forward too, to your Sunday messages of hope and inspiration, we need it in our crazy world! Thanks for everything and Happy Anniversary! God bless you and Joe and family, Sandy H

  98. Happy anniversary Tania! I found you not long after you started. I’m older than you and was frustrated that I couldn’t find a blog for older women that “spoke” to me. You were stylish, sassy and down to earth, so I signed up. Still here and still look for my email from you each morning. I have always loved fashion and makeup and don’t intend to start dressing like my grandmother did years ago! Formerly, black clothing was my go to. At one place I worked I was known as Johnny Cash. You have inspired me to bring color back into my life. Color not only improves my appearance, but also my mood and outlook. My husband appreciates both!

Thank you for all the hard work, time, and willingness to share yourself and your family. You could not keep doing this day after day without joy and dedication to your readers. On those days when life, responsibilities and fatigue set in, I hope those of us who follow you because we look forward to seeing you and hearing what is going on in your life keep you coming back.

Enjoy your day and eat some cake! 🎂👏🏻🤗

  99. Wow! Congratulations Tania! There are already a bazillion comments. How in the world are you going to read all of them? Lol. I think I started following you about a year and a half ago, maybe close to 2 years now. I enjoy your sense of humor, and how positive you are. I have learned a lot about what looks good on us REAL women. I am now a PC with R&F and I love the product. I love Plunder jewelry too. Also, I really enjoy your Sunday posts and I share them often. There are some FB sites and blogs for women over 50 that I liked initially, but have lost interest in over time. I can’t afford $300 shoes, or Eileen Fisher wardrobes. I want to know about stuff I find pretty and enjoyable, and also won’t break the bank. Thank you for all the wonderful advice Tania! ❤️

  102. Happy 2 Year Anniversary! Yours is the only blog I read and I read yours daily. I found your blog a few months after you had started and I went back and read all your posts. You are an inspiration. I tried reading a couple other blogs but I find yours suits me the best. Thank you for sharing your world with us and making us laugh and be inspired.

  103. Happy Anniversary! 🎉🎉🎉 I’ve been visiting your blog everyday for about 8 or 9 months. Even gone back and looked at most of the ones previously posted. Love your style and that you show us even if we are over 50 we can wear color and look great! I’ve gone out and purchased many of the items you have shown us on your blog! Hi, I read your blog everyday! Love your style! Keep up the great work!

  105. Tania:
I’ve been following you for about 8 months. I love that you model clothes that pretty much any woman can wear and afford. You have really helped me step up my game with my work wardrobe. I also love reading about your family! You are truly a blessing and I can’t wait to read your posts every day!

  106. Hi Tania! I have been a reader for around a year or so. I love your blog and what got me hooked was when you wrote that your husband remarked that your style was “classy with a little trashy.” Oh my goodness, I knew I was in store for lots of smiles. Your personality just shines through with every post and it is one of the highlights of my day! Thanks for all the great tips!

  107. Happy Anniversary!! I have been reading your blog since January I believe. I retired from teaching for 30 years and was searching for fashion/style for beyond 50 that expanded my basic “teaching” outfits of khaki/school colors and big long dresses/skirts with huge pockets. I’ve also started wearing necklaces and bracelets again rather than badge lanyards and wrist key rings. I love color and when I first began to redefine my style many of the “suggestions” were for wardrobes built around neutrals. BORING! My “signature color” is turquoise or teal and I wear bright colors all the time. My main goal is to look nice but be very comfortable. And my number one rule is I have to be able to mix and match everything. I won’t buy an item if I can’t wear it with at least two other items in my closet. I love reading your blog because it’s down to earth, colorful, and comfortable. I love that you show photos of an item that you wore in a different way in an earlier blog. I also love reading about life in Grundy and your Sunday blogs. I will eventually buy some Plunder jewelry and maybe try something from R F. Keep up the great work!

  108. I have been following your blog since the fall of 2015. I enjoy your blog because unlike some of those other blogs Tania you are so real and down to earth.

  109. Hi Tania, I’ve been reading you for well over a year…more likely over a year and a half. I enjoy starting my mornings seeing what you’ve put together, and what antics you’re up to. Your positive perspective is so refreshing and feels so real to me. I’ve bought Pixie pants, tasseled knecklaces, and on and on…. Please continue to find joy in life, and thank you for sharing that optimism with us.

  110. I check in on you nearly everyday. I found you a little over a year ago, I remembering your first anniversary! You have helped me into color, I was a black and white person! Thank you!

  114. I was looking for a blog that helped with how to put clothes together. I have tons of clothes but couldn’t really make cute outfits😩But you have definitely helped with that!! Thank you!!
I also wanted ideas from someone who was a little more mature not in their 20’s or 30’s and you fit that bill!!!
    Enjoy your blog tremendously!

  115. I have been reading your blog for most of this year. After quiet time with God in the mornings, I check my emails, and, there is your email for your blog! I pop over and am blessed and encouraged! Not to mention the cute outfits and ideas of where to find them on the web! Blessings!

  116. I’ve been following your blog for well over a year now and I still love it. Your blog is my favorite because you don’t wear or buy the same thing. You really mix it up with colors, styles, where you buy your clothing, etc. Thank you also for talking about your family, I enjoy it. 🙂

  117. I have been reading your blog since the beginning I have watched you grow and evolve and it’s been awesome! As a fellow over 50 member it’s nice to know we still have a lot of life left in us and no need to be frumpy! Lol and ps love the lashes!

Happy Anniversary! I don’t know how long I have been reading you or where I found you but I am so glad I did. Your fashion sense is the same as mine. I love reading your makeup tutorials and everything you do. Thru you I have found Plunder jewelry and many other things. In short, I love your blog! It is the best one I read.

  119. I found you sometime around Christmas last year when I was looking for ways to assimilate my northern wardrobe into southern expectations after moving to Georgia in July. When I started following you, I didn’t know you would literally rescue me for a very special occasion. My husband, a retired lieutenant colonel, was asked to speak at our grandson’s JROTC Winter Ball. While I thought I had something I could wear, when I finally tried it on, I found I was less than thrilled with it. Then your posting just days before the Ball was a dressy dress that I immediately fell in love with. You had a link to its availability and the rest is history. I was able to get the dress, overnight it, and feel totally ready for the big occasion. I’ve been an avid follower ever since. Since then, I’ve ordered Plunder jewelry and also discovered the Alex and Ani brand through your website. I’ve returned to several retail ventures I had long ago stopped frequenting, i.e., Chadwick’s, Old Navy, etc. Thanks so much for all your wonderful ideas.

  120. I think it has been about a year that I have been following you now and I do read your post every day. I started following you because your fashion style is similar to mine. But as the year has gone by, I really feel like I know you, to some extent. My husband wanted to know who the “girl” is that I am friends with that he doesn’t know! (He knows most all of my FB friends). Haha. I have even become a R&F PC customer. Now thinking of starting my own blog some day. Thank you for a fun, informative, fashion blog. You do a fantastic job.

  121. Happy Anniversary, Tania! I am so glad you decided to start this blog…and I am extra glad I found it! I enjoy seeing your outfits and often find inspiration in them, but I also love hearing about your daily experiences. You make us feel like we are a part of your extended family! Thank you for being YOU! <3

  122. I have been following your blog for almost a year. I love your style and that you are not afraid of color!! My favorite posts though are your Sunday posts. They are so inspirational and you seem to always be speaking directly to me!!

  123. I found you by searching Pinterest for fashion for women over 50 and have been reading your blog for several months now. I was trying to find some clothing options to pin for a Stitch Fix. But, since I have been reading your blog, I have stopped scheduling Stitch Fixes and now I feel more confident to choose my own clothing. I had gotten into a rut of blacks, grays and navy items and I loved your colorful outfits. You inspired me to buy red, yellow, hot pink, royal blue and wild prints! My husband and children were shocked at first, but they like my new clothes! Not only did you influence my clothing choices, but my mood. I have been a caregiver for my parents for over ten years and I had gotten into the habit of just throwing on dark sweats and a dark shirt. But, even though some days I don’t ever leave my home, my new brighter clothing choices lift my spirits and those around me. I also love your Sunday inspirational posts. Thanks for sharing your fashion, faith, and family with us!

  124. Happy 2nd Anniversary Tania! I’ve been following you since October 2015. In search of a more age appropriate way to dress but not “old lady” like I came across your blog. Little did I realize until your first anniversary that when I found your blog you had only started it a month before. I have not missed a days reading since 🙂
I love your transparency, your humor, your fashion sense, your commitment to your followers by posting even while traveling and most of all I love your Sunday posts. You have inspired and encouraged me in many way; fashion, hair styles (most repined pictures) skin care and a closer walk with the Lord.
I’ve seen you grow and change over the past two years. Most noticeably is the fact you look younger today than you did two years ago….and of course those crazy long lashes! Look forward to following you for years to come.

Out of the few I found, yours is the only one I continue to read every day. I love that you buy from regular stores that we all have access to, & that you don’t spend a fortune to make your outfits look great. Your clothes and your adventures are so much fun to read about. Thank you for being you! Happy Anniversary!!

  157. I enjoy your color combinations. I like to experiment with color. Love your jewelry too! I believe you are never too old to wear color! Experiment with color in what you wear … even if it drives your family crazy and tells you are too old to be wearing bright color clothes:) I have been reading your blog about 6 months.

  158. Hi Tania and congratulations! I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now. I look forward to seeing you every morning as I have my coffee. I also love colour and accessories. You are a beautiful woman with great fashion sense! I will continue having my morning coffee with you. Best wishes from Edmonton, Canada.

Happy Anniversary! What an accomplishment. I’ve been following you for almost a year. I love fashion and just turned 50 2 years ago. Most of the fashions are for younger women who are a size zero or 2. In my opinion you represent most 50 plus women. We have the same fashion taste and the clothes you wear are not overpriced.

  160. Tania, I also found you thru Pintrest. I have some aspirations to do my own blog. Would you do it again? I enjoy your blog, and appreciate all the work that you put into it.

I have been following you from Humble, Texas for about a year and a few months. Love the way you put items together, love that you are a Thrift, outlet, bargain shopper……but if you see something you really like and it is well made, will even pay full price. I too thrift shop and have recently realized that it is okay to pay full price for truly useful pieces.

  162. Good morning – not sure how I found you blog but I did. I have been following you now for over six months and I love it! You go and do it!!! Love your personality and love hearing about your family. I too am over 50 and have two grandchildren so far!!! I agree with Kimberly with regards to the PLUS size. You are not but you let us know what hides our extra rolls and such!!! Thank you and carry on my friend!!!

  163. I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now. I wanted a change from the black and navy world. You inspired me to at least consider it.

  164. I too started reading your blog a year ago. We just had a girls weekend, I took some pics to look at, some, we all had a good conversation and loved your outfits. We love the new outfits, and the older ones that you revitalize. When you bring your family into your blog, when your upset with your husband, and then elaborate how grate he and family are, it touches us all. Keep this going, its my coffee first thing in the morning. Congrats, also loved the Sturgis shirt comment, I’m from SD.

  165. Tania, thisTonya is new to your blog and I find you refreshingly transparent about the good, the bad and the ugly! Thank you for inspiring me to write (did I just write that out loud?!) and showing me that you do what God leads you to do. Have a blessed week!

  166. I enjoy your blog because all of the other fashion bloggers seemed to be 20 and weigh 90 pounds soaking wet. As a 60 yr old grandma, your blog caught my eye one day. Yay, a real person! I have been following you for a little over a year I think. Thanks for all the fun looks.

  167. Dear Tania,

I have been reading your blog for about 6 months, you have saved my fashion life. This gal who is 50ish has been struggling for years on how to put outfits togethers and you have helped me HUGELY. You are such an inspiration. Everyday when I read your blog I feel like I’m reading a letter from a friend. Congratulations on your 2nd year anniversary! THANK YOU!!!

So happy for you! So happy for us, too! I found your blog this year and liked it the minute I saw it. You inspire and

connect with the women folk. You have a lovely family. Keep up the good work!

  170. Hello Tania! I started reading your blog over a year and a half ago I believe! I know it was before the last Pepsi Jam that was canceled! I think I found you somehow through a link from another blog I follow, Jolynne Shane. I’ve loved following your journey as you put together outfits, add jewelry and have started your other businesses. You’re giving me courage to consider stretching myself and trying something new in my career life as well! I love seeing how you put things together and also learning different places to shop for items as one tends to get stuck in a rut and it’s great to have the new ideas. But probably what hooked me were the Sunday posts, you have a lovely “voice”.

  171. Happy Anniversary, Tania and congratulations on your accomplishment! I think I have been following you for about a year and a half and I believe I found you through another bloggers link. I really look forward to your emails daily😀 Love your fashion, humor and outlook on life. I think you “keep it real ” and I appreciate that! Hope Joe takes you out to celebrate!😉

I’m so glad that your sister nudged you into blogging, yours is one of my favorites to follow. I can’t remember how I stumbled onto your blog but I’m one of your earlier followers and I love the folksy way you write. Because of you I tried the R&F Lash Boost and now I have great eyelashes! Congratulations on two years!

To be honest, I don’t remember how I found you (I think it was a link-up), but I’m sure glad I did. I love your style and I love how you are you and not following someone else’s style. Thank you for sharing yourself and your family with us. Here’s to many more years … Congratulations and Happy Blogging Anniversary!

  174. I found you several months ago while on Pinterest searching fashion for women over fifty. I was immediately drawn to your style – colors, patterns, and of course, the jewelry! I was in a rut and needed help. I didn’t want to dress like my 24 year old daughter, nor did I want to dress like my 75 year old mother. Because of your posts, I’ve been able to go into my own closet and put new outfits together, plus buy items I never would have a year ago. Thank you for the inspiration. I look forward to your posts everyday!

  175. Good Morning!! So I was totally in a clothing slump and went to Pinterest to try and find some ideas on mixing and matching clothing for us Ladies Over 50. I love color and when I saw a lot of your posts, I knew immediately that our style was very similar! You always look stunning and have made being over 50 not what I remember growing up. I still feel like I am 25 in my head, but as time has passed, unfortunately my body does quite look like I am 25 (lol!!). I have been following your blog for about 6-8 months (I think!!) and love seeing the amazing color combos you put together.

    Hi Tania,

Congratulations on two years!!! I would LOVE to win the Key To Life Charm Bangle! 🙂

I started reading your blog in the spring when I was searching the Internet for style ideas for my daughter’s college graduation. Now that I’m 50 (okay, 51 haha), I wanted to look appropriate for my age, and yet still fun. Once I found your blog, I signed up to receive your e-mails daily. As much as I enjoy your M-Sat posts, Sundays are my favorite!

Thought you’d like to know that I’m the author of The Christian Girl’s Guide to Style, a book for tween girls.

I have been reading your blog for about ten months now. I am 65 but I do not want to dress like I am. Love your outfit choices and will continue to follow your blog. I found you on Pinterest and read your blog daily. Good luck for continued success.

  178. Congratulations on your second anniversary!!! I love reading your blog every morning love your style keep up the good work. I also follow you on pinterest and instagram.

  179. I love your blog because I have always enjoyed fashion, and I love color! I turned 50 this past year, and I have three grandchildren. You are right, though…I am NOT old! LOL! Thanks for showing everyone that you can be over 50 and still dress fabulously! Aging is no reason to just “give up” on looking our best!

Tania I have been following you for about 6 months now because you have introduced color to my black, white and grey wardrobe! I am 70 and not skinny but not obese either, just a tall big girl! You wear the type of clothing that I have always wanted to wear but was afraid was too “flashy” for someone my age. I have started picking up cute things with color and instead of shopping at Chicos all the time I now do some shopping at Cato’s to pick up some trendy tops. Love your blog and hearing about your family. It is one of the ways I start my day drinking coffee and reading your blog!

  181. Hi Tania, I have been reading your blog for quite a few months. I think my friend Charlcy Introduced me and I enjoy the writing and fashion. I am very petite so the jewelry is all too large for me to wear but I still get good ideas from seeing what you put together. I enjoyed reading about your Alaskan trip since my husband and I were there at this time last year.

Hi Tania, I came across your blog about 6 months ago through Pinterest. My mom introduced me to fashion at a very early age. It has always been a passion of mine. Therefore, although I will be turning 69 in December, I enjoy keeping up with the latest fashion styles and adapting them to fit my age! I love your blog and your unique style of writing which is very interesting! Look forward to reading it each morning!

I love cute clothes, jewelry, makeup and most of all The Lord. I know all of these things are important to you. I think you are an inspiration. Thanks for being YOU! Your side kick is adorable too!!!

  186. I have always loved fashion and worked in the industry in NYC (designer footwear) for 10 years. After the birth of my first child (I have a total of 4), I became a stay-at-home mom and then eventually was called to home school them. My last child still home, I affectionally call my ‘lone schooler’, is in his junior year of high school.
While I still had my fashion sense, I knew enough that there were some styles women of a certain age shouldn’t wear (I was the original ‘fashion police’ and ‘glamour don’t’ while working in NYC-LOL) and I needed some guidance on how to dress but didn’t know where to look. I used to watch “What Not to Wear” on TLC with Clinton and Stacey. That’s when my daughters turned me on to Pinterest.
While I was perusing ‘fashion for women in their 50’s’ I saw one of your photos and you reminded me of one of my sisters. I really liked how you put things together. I started prescribing to your blog shortly after that probably a year or so ago. I don’t feel old and thanks to good clean living, I don’t look 56 either. I really love reading about your growing family and truly laugh out loud at some of the things you write. I can relate! Plus knowing we share a relationship with our Lord and Savior bonds us as sisters in Christ. You have inspired me to get out of my comfort zone in more ways than just fashion. I have applied to work part time at a local Loft store. I feel this might be the beginning of my ‘second act’ once my son graduates high school.
Congratulations on your two year anniversary! and many more.

I have been following you for about 1 1/2 yrs. & look forward to it everyday. In the beginning I was reading another Christian ladie’s blog about dressing after 40 & I like it, but could not relate to her or her choices as she mostly chooses black, grey, white or red & her jewelry is very understated & her outfits VERY expensive. I don’t remember how I found yours but I immediately fell in love w/you & reading about you! And I love your style! Thanks for the tips on Lash Boost cause I have eyelashes for the first time in 20 yrs! Shine on my dear friend!

  214. Happy 2nd Blog Anniversary, Tania! I’ve been visiting your page since Spring of 2016. I had googled ‘over 50 fashion blog’, to find you. I was stuck in a styling rut and needed ideas and inspiration. Your creative style & color choices grabbed my attention. But your genuine personality & sharing of your life – kept me coming back daily. Here’s to many more blog years for you — Cheers!

  215. Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary. I found your blog at a time when I was looking for inspiration, confidence and motivation to feel better about myself. I agree that if you feel good about yourself, then that helps to make you a happier, kinder and nicer person for other people to be around. I also try to embrace your philosophy and your positive outlook about life. So glad I found your blog!

  216. Hi Tania! I have been reading for probably just over a year. You have no idea how much I appreciate you, and it’s because you are REAL. And I need a real person, my age (I’ll be 54 this month), to model on. I felt like I presented myself well until about my mid forties when stress, hormones, and general confusion about aging took over. After spending years reading articles that say things like never wear this or that if you are over 30 or 40 or 50, and lighten your makeup, etc., fearing I might look like I was trying to be too young, the results were not so good. I looked in the mirror, pretty much at menopause, and decided I looked like I’d given up. I needed to do ME, not all that stupid advice, and I needed something to get me back on track. I needed to figure out what other, more vibrant, women my age were actually doing, and I couldn’t find inspiration among the women I see in real life, most of whom are much younger or much older. So I turned to the internet.

There was the title of your blog–Fifty is Not Old. Wow! That’s what I needed to hear, and I needed to see it demonstrated. You set an example for how to do the fifties and do them right. You have taught me a lot of tricks and convinced me to change things for very much the better. I’m wearing more jewelry now, including some Plunder, and I’m making it a point to wear more color and do my eyes up like I used to. I tend to style myself bolder, out of that comfort/fear zone, and it’s great! Add in your Sunday blogs, and you are a breath of fresh air I needed. I recognize that girl (lady?–I’m still a little confused–haha) in the mirror again! So thanks for putting yourself out there, and keep leading the way!!! Because Fifty is NOT Old!!!!!

  217. Happy Anniversary! I have been reading your blog for well over a year I believe. I found you through a link via Jolynne Shane. So glad I did. I enjoy your posts very much. Your numbers are most impressive, I know you have worked hard to boost them. Kudos to you.

I found you a year ago through a Polyvore search on Pinterest. I pinned any and every clothing/style picture I ‘liked’. When I went back the next day and really focused on the pictures, a pattern emerged. I was drawn to ankle length, slimmer legged pants, solid colors and longer vests. I also noticed that more than half of all pictures were of YOU! I went to your FB page and the rest is history. Congrats!!

  238. Love! Your blog. It is my girlie fix at the end of a busy day. Please keep up your Sunday inspirationals, those are dear to my heart ❤️.

I’m one that thought everything had to be matched up, you proved me wrong and I love it. I’m 67 years young and never thought I would go for color, but thanks to you I have turned the page of monotone into beautiful color and I LOVE it.

Tania, I started following you after I saw your fashion pictures on P interest, I followed those picture that led to your blog. That was in February time frame. You seem to have the same interests and ideas I do, not to mention being in the GFWC/women’s club. That is why I chose to read and stay with your blog. So thanks for all the ideas, and online friendship..

  244. I’ve been following for over a year, maybe two. I like how you recycle some of your pieces but it never looks like the same.

    • I’ve been following you for several months now. What I like about your blog the most is that most of your outfits are accessible to ordinary people like myself. You shop at stores that are either in my town or close by. I live in a small town like you and I love that I can shop at some of the same stores that you do. And you have affordable things!!

I only found you on Pinterest about a month ago, when looking for outfits for over fifty. I love how you mix outfits and use a lot of color. Your love of God, family and life is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

  250. I have been a reader for only about 6 weeks and I found you through Kelly Snyder, another blogger and my boss. 🙂 I started reading it because I LOVE the title! I am 56 and am of the same mind! 🙂

  251. Congratulations! I have been reading your blog for about 6 months. I got here from pinterest looking for clothes to wear to school teaching since I am now on the down slope of the 50’s I wanted something different in style. I love the colorful combinations you wear and hist how real you are. I love hearing about your sister also and am reading one of her books to my 5th graders.

  252. Tania and coffee. My first thing in the morning routine. You inspire me to think more boldly in my everyday life. Your share your life with us and your faith. Sundays are a favorite. Why do I follow? Because you are that blogger that makes me feel I am your friend. Keep at it. Your sister should be congratulated for her encouragement. I have followed soon after you started and have not missed a day. Even have sister following in Chicago and I in Savannah. Can’t tell you how many times we’ve shared our thoughts on your look of the day over the phone. So proud we can afford your fashion advice. So many bloggers think they need outrageous priced pieces to show. Yours are attainable. Celebrate my friend.

  253. I’ve been following your blog since early in your first year. It was so nice to find someone who styles “real” clothes and not just the latest and greatest style of the moment. You have introduced a gal who used to wear only black and subdued colors to color and I love it! And I love your sense of humor! You’re not afraid to be real and I like that. Keep on keeping on, Tania, and thanks for all you do.

  261. Love your blog! It gives me so many ideas for outfits, even some I already have in my closet and just didn’t know it! I love your style, it’s classy and perfect for ladies of a “certain age”. Good morning! After my husband leaves for work, I look for your blog to see what you’re wearing and what you have to say! I’ve been following you for about a year…many years too late! Until May 31st, I worked with elementary students in literacy, then came retirement! My daughter and husband have told me l dress the same every day, so after following your guidelines, I’ve picked up a few pieces to bring my wardrobe into the 21st century! So in my case, 65 is not old! Thank you!

  263. I have been following your posts for a few months. I enjoy your “normalcy” and sense of humor. You don’t try to dress like a 25 yr or fashion icon, but you still implement some current trends and some down to earth goodies. Please stay the same!

Been hanging with you every morning at breakfast for the past year. As you say, people like you because, you are just you! Most of us need permission to wear color. You don’t want to be too over the top or stand out. But you, you have made color fun, uplifting and a personal hug for all of us. Having worked with color all my life as a fabric store manager and buyer, even I find myself looking in the closet and grabbing the same old blues and blacks. Since having breakfast with you, my closet is lots more colorful and not boring and I find I am more ready to pass by those old blacks and blues for happier colors. And besides, it makes you and everyone around you smile more!

  269. You’re a natural in being natural..lol. I came upon your blog less than a year ago, like many searching for attainable (affordable) fashion over 50 with someone who isn’t a size zero showing how to combine & mix our wardrobe, yet be a bit adventurous in our choices. I’ve bought some of the jewelry, and enjoy that you share inspiration on the Lord’s day. Thank you.

  270. I was lucky enough to find your blog just a few short weeks ago! I have read most all of your past posts and am truly enjoying it. I enjoy the fact that you are so real and are inspiring me to take more chances in my wardrobe. You are someone that I’m sure most of your readers can imagine being real life friends if we lived closer! I’ve followed quite a few blogs in the past and when a blogger quits blogging, it’s like you lose a friend! Please keep on keeping on! 🙂

  271. wow, so many wonderful comments. I started reading your blog this Spring and was immediately hooked. Like others, I cannot wait to read your post every morning and often wondered if I am creepily stalking you, lol. But after starting to read some of these comments, way too many to read them all, I realize I am not alone and your stories and style are so down to earth and fun that you attract and draw in this large circle of friends. Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary and I look forward to spending many more mornings reading your posts and enjoying your fashion styles.

  272. I discovered your site about 6 months ago. I really like how you put clothing items together. Your Sunday posts are my favorite. I can tell you love Jesus.

  278. I found your blog while browsing on Pinterest. You seemed very relatable and shopped at all kinds of stores, so I began to follow about three months ago. I love accessories and love the way you incorporate them into your wardrobe. Also, the Alex & Ani bracelets are some of my favorites. Happy 2nd Anniversary of your blog Tania! I also found you by looking for appropriate fashion advice for women in their 50’s and fell in love with your style as well as practical/cost conscious tips. We are about the same age, height, & size and although I wear scrubs at the hospital I work at the rest of my wardrobe needs is casual but with a classy flair! You have inspired me to try so many great combinations and to shop in my own closet first! Keep up the good work – I love to follow you in the morning with my cup(s) of coffee. Ps becoming a grandmother for the first time to twin girls in November and have already picked up a few pink items to wear to celebrate their arrival! Thank you for putting yourself ‘out there’!

I completely love your blog and you are so personable. Thank you so much for helping us see that fashion can be fun and attainable at age 50 plus. My wardrobe is slowly changing from blah to beautiful! Keep this thing going. I read your blog every day and look forward to what you are doing and wearing. It’s nice that you have a spiritual aspect too.

  284. I have been reading your blog for at least a year, so don’t remember where I found it. Your posts read like a short story, not always all about the clothes and jewelry, I find that refreshing! This summer I focused and finally lost 30 lbs, now I’m trying more with color and getting away from the black, so look forward to being a little copycat (wish I could add some height. Lol)
Anyway, thanks for being an enjoyable read starting my day!
