I know that I haven’t been sharing many stories with you lately, but our household has been boring. Lol! Before I tell you all about this t-shirt midi-dress, I want to tell you the sweetest story that happened yesterday. Joe’s parents have both already passed, and his father passed very early in our marriage. He has been gone for almost 33 years, and none of his grandchildren ever got the privilege of knowing him.
Before my daughter’s first birthday, he died, but my son, Joseph, was not born until later the next year. Joseph has recently become a member of the Masons, and his dad and grandfather were also Masons. Yesterday, I heard Joseph and Joe whispering in another room, but I didn’t pay any attention to them. Later, Joe came through and asked me where his father’s Mason ring was and wanted me to get it for Joseph.
I had put it in a safe deposit box, so I went to the bank and got it out for him. When I handed him the faded and lint-covered felt ring box, he smiled because he knew what was inside. He was thrilled even though the ring is way too small for him right now. It brought a tear to my eyes watching him try the ring on, and I know that Papa Joe would have been so proud.
Now that I’ve wiped the tears from my eyes, I can tell you about this t-shirt midi-dress. This is one of those dresses that you can wear around the house or out on a date. It is a dressed-up version of loungewear, but it is just as comfortable. When you wear this dress, you can act like you are walking around in your nightgown, but be sure to take off the houseshoes if you go to the store. Lol!
This t-shirt dress is from QVC, and it is by G.I.L.I., which is one of my favorite fashion brands on there. I think that clothing from QVC runs large, and it is one of the only places that I can wear a small or a medium. I am wearing a medium in the dress, and it fits perfectly. I am 5’6″ tall and weigh anywhere between 155-165 at any given time for sizing reference. I usually wear a size 12 in dresses. This dress is also available in several other colors, and it is on sale. You know that means that the sizes won’t last very long, so don’t procrastinate. You gurls must love to shop because I have noticed that the sizes start selling out when I post an item.
This is one statement hat! This super oversized straw hat features a large, floppy, wide brim. It is gorgeous, and it will keep you in the shade and protected from the sun. It is flexible and packable, so this can easily travel with you on your next vacation.
I love drama in clothing, but not in my life. This flowy duster completely changes the look of the t-shirt dress, and it goes from a casual everyday look to a stunning statement look. This duster is by the same brand as the t-shirt, but it is older and not on the website. However, I found a lot of dusters that can create the same amount of drama.
I added a small amount of gold jewelry. Blue and gold are one of my favorite combinations, and it happens to be the colors of our local high school. The small pink butterfly necklace is new, and this is the one that reminds me of my grandmother. She loved butterfly jewelry, and when she passed away, each of her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters was given a butterfly brooch.
I also added the Davis Multi-Strand necklace, but only one of the strands. This necklace is very versatile since you can unclasp any of the three strands. The cross necklace is bought separately, the thin gold vermeil chain and the cross pendant. The final piece of jewelry is my Rylan earrings. I love the medium size of these earrings, and they are just enough to be noticed, but they aren’t heavy.
These white and burlap espadrille shoes are several years old. I bring them out every spring because I think the two colors look great together and look like summer. The pair of Vince Camuto shoes that I wore in yesterday’s post would also look great with this outfit; I’ll upload the photo for you to see those and a few others also.

I will be sending out a “special” Saturday email in addition to my normal daily post, which will include some daily finds, items that I’ve just ordered, and maybe a tutorial or two.
