WRINKLE RESISTANT CLOTHING FOR LOOKING FABULOUS ON THE RUN
Yesterday was a long day for me. I spent almost all day taking photos, and I didn’t get to comment back to all of you like I wanted to. It was great to see so many of you enjoyed the post on how to look polished. I love lounging around the house just as much as everybody else, but I was starting to notice that I wasn’t taking care of myself like I used to. I was starting to “let myself go,” and that wasn’t making me feel good.
Since so many of you reading this are probably retired or working from home, you might have also retired your makeup. I get it, that is just another step that you don’t have to do, and you are beautiful with or without makeup. Makeup doesn’t make you beautiful, but it can ENHANCE your beauty when applied correctly. Here is a new post on the makeup that I am currently using.
I “need” to feel like I put effort into myself, which translates into clothing and makeup. Some people put effort into themselves through exercise or eating healthy, which makes them feel good. Even though it isn’t me, some people feel good about creating a beautiful home. And, some people feel good about themselves through service to others. We all need to have that one thing that makes up feel extra special.
I don’t want you to take my word wrong; I don’t mean that you have to be dressy all of the time. Casual style is something that I love wearing, but there is a way to dress casually and still look like you put effort into the outfit. I didn’t like the rabbit hole I was going down where I was always in yoga pants or leggings, a t-shirt, or somedays I didn’t even get out of my PJs until late in the afternoon. If I was going down the rabbit hole, I bet a lot of you were also. By the way…we are NOT rabbits. Lol!
Today, I am showing you an outfit that is super easy to create, and it looks super polished and like you put effort into the look. The best outfits are easy to create but look like they took a lot of thought. This outfit would be fabulous to wear to a graduation ceremony, to a bridal shower, to church, to lunch at a friend’s house, or any other springtime event.
The Maya Jacket is the perfect go-to jacket, especially if you are traveling. It is wrinkle-resistant, and I love the fluid movement of the lapels. It is like a waterfall jacket which is a flattering design, and the fact that it doesn’t wrinkle easily makes a huge difference to me. I hate getting somewhere and looking like I just rolled out of bed. UGH!
This is lightweight, so it is perfect for a light layer this spring. Also, the jacket is machine washable, and that is another huge plus for me. I am wearing the navy option (also comes in black) and a size 1 in the jacket, so I would say it runs true to size.
This outfit doesn’t call for much jewelry since it is so stunning on its own. But, I did add this multi-stone chandelier pair. I like the dangle style that features a green and blue stone. The earrings are made with nickel-free metal and are custom designed especially for Chico’s.
Y’all, I can’t even start to tell you how much I LOVE this scroll printed jumpsuit! Before you say, “oh no,” I understand what you might be feeling. Usually, I am not a big fan of jumpsuits either because of the whole bathroom thing. But, a jumpsuit is the easiest way to look put together. It is a one-and-done item, so there is no stress involved in picking items that match.
If you have been following me for very long, you know that my problem area is my tummy region. I am built like a ruler, so I don’t have a well-defined waist. Normally, I shy away from elastic waistbands unless I can hide them with a wide belt. But, this one is different since it creates a small overlap effect. This jumpsuit is also part of the Travelers Collection, so it is wrinkle-resistant also. I am wearing a size 1 in the jumpsuit, and I think that it fits me great!
I styled the jumpsuit with a pair of black pumps for a dressy look, but this jumpsuit can be worn in other ways also. You can also wear it with flats, with a long cardigan, or with a denim jacket. Here are a few things that will look great with this jumpsuit.
Y’all, Chico’s is having a huge sale, and there are a lot of new arrivals at a terrific discount. I quickly scanned the sales and picked some to bring to your attention. You will probably recognize several things that I’ve styled and worn here on the blog.
Y’all, I haven’t had a “BECOME MY CUSTOMER” incentive in a while, so I will remedy that today. I am passionate about helping you look the best you can in fashion and with your skin. After years of trying drug-store and department store skincare, I stumbled upon Rodan and Fields, and it was the ONLY skincare that actually gave me visible results. Don’t believe me? Look back to this post that I did when I first started blogging back in 2015. THANK YOU, R+F!!!
I notice the most in that post from 2015: the hooded eyes, the lack of eyelashes, and the dull-looking skin. How To Order:
I am celebrating this month because it is Joe’s Birthday month. He told me that I couldn’t make a big deal out of his birthday. I don’t think that announcing for the entire world to see is making a big deal. Lol! So, randomly, each week, I am going to pick a winner for a gift. The gifts will vary in size and price, and I will pick the winner from the comments that I receive during the week.
This week’s winner is…..Lorie!!! Keep commenting, and you might be next week’s winner.

Fabulous look on you! Hope you kept it!
The jumpsuit is so lovely on you! I feel more productive working at home if I dress as if I were going to the office!
Thanks for sharing the great sale!!! Also, love the non wrinkle feature for sone of the clothing items- wow makes life so much easier!!! I hate to iron🙃🤗
Love the outfit! You always look stunning!
This outfit is stunning!
Beautiful jumpsuit! I have to wear my make-up to feel good.
LOVE LOVE the jumpsuit!
I love the jumpsuit, do you think it would look ok with a pair of wedges? I can’t wear heels.
Absolutely!!!
I was an R+F customer for several years and loved the improvement. Your skin looks great!!
I love RF, and I doubt that I’ll ever stop. It is that good.
You are adorable! I love your blog. It’s helped keep me going these past months! Thank you for all the effort you put into your posts each day.
I am glad that you are enjoying it, Rhonda.
Two things. First, I bought those camel high rise chinos from Loft and I love them. Best part is they stay up! And don’t make my derrière flat, like the Old Navy chinos. Thanks for that tip on those. I may just get all the colors!
The other thing — in early 1978 I went to a book signing for a cute little book called Sidetracked Home Executives. It was the concepts that the Flylady appropriated 20 yrs later. Well I still have my little book, it’s much loved and much worn and it’s right there next to my Bible. And in that little book the two authors state that we need to get up and get dressed to the shoes every day. Not putting on shoes means we are telling ourselves we plan to lounge around all day. Back then I had wall to wall carpet and little incentive to try to keep my feet warm, lol but now we have very hard hardwood and it’s cold! The other thing from that book that has been something they said about makeup. If you wear it to go out, wear it at home. Some gals are gorgeous with no makeup. I’m not one of them. And except for some extended backpack trips,I’ve followed that advice. At the very minimum, a bit of brow gel, some tinted spf moisturizer, mascara for the albino eyelashes we natural blonds have, a a touch of lip gloss. That’s all you need to not look half dead if someone comes to the door. I generally do more – shadow, liner, bronzer, and blush. The funny irony is that before COVID I didn’t bother with lipstick in the house so it wouldn’t get on my coffee cups and glasses. Now I only wear it at home!
And speaking of lipstick. For you all that still need a mask, I discovered that pretreatment of transferred makeup with dishwashing liquid works way better than anything else. I wear a clean mask when I leave my house and I carefully remove them to a plastic bag when I get home and then put them in the laundry. If any makeup gets on the mask I just squirt some dish soap on it. Works better than spray and wash type stuff.
I wash my masks with Dawn dishwashing detergent all the time. I love the story about the books. That is wonderful.
Beautiful outfit! And those earrings…so pretty!
That outfit looks super fabulous on you!! Just gorgeous! Have a great day:)
Love the jumpsuit!
I love a pretty jumpsuit! Yes, you are right about the bathroom thing, but it definitely looks polished! You have the perfect figure for one! Looks amazing on you.
You look GREAT in that jumpsuit. Better without the cardigan.
I think this outfit can be worn anywhere. I love the colors. Thanks for always willing to try various styles to get our inspiration going.
Yep, those rabbit holes are a real thing. I love this jumpsuit, but those bathroom issues are a real thing too. 🙂
Looking good! I’m in the rabbit hole haha but hopefully I can get back out. Thanks for brightening my day.
The jumpsuit reminds me of a maxi dress. Do you think you could look into some? I hate my chubby legs.
Oh and I like the makeup post too thanks for the tips. I am always trying to look better maybe it is impossible. I am very casual and like to look put together but not dressy. Thanks for your blog.
LOVE the jump suit looks so comfy and cleaned up. You look great in it. How would it look with flats? Or flat sandals? Might have to get one for myself. Great choice.
Love these photos. When you are out shooting your photos…. do people stop and watch?
This outfit looks so sharp on you! I am very guilty of not “fixing” myself up anymore. I have turned into a full time babysitter to my grandchildren, and most mornings the motivation is just not there to put on makeup. My littles don’t notice one way or the other. They just come ready to play. 😀
How do you put this jumpsuit on? Is there a back zipper. Love the look but it is so awkward when visiting the ladies room.
Great travel-friendly outfit…who says “Blue & green should never be seen”? The earrings are gorgeous as well!
I love the navy and green combination together. Very nice and looks great on you. Thank you for pulling me out of that rabbit hole last year when I started following your blog. You have truly been an inspiration to me.
Good morning and WOW! I really like that jumpsuit! It looks great on you and you’re right, it’s easy, one piece dressing. I used to wear jumpsuits back in the 70’s. Glad they are coming back, maybe I’ll get the nerve to try one again!!
I am a big fan of this jumpsuit! It looks fantastic on you! I agree put an effort into your style is my motto it makes me feel good!
Love this look on you! That jumpsuit is adorable!
This pantsuit looks so nice on you! Love the colors and pattern! It is so flattering! Don’t know what you are doing but you look like you are losing weight! Not just in this outfit but others that you have shown!
I so understand dressing to change an attitute of your self. I am retired but I feel like those who dress like they care about themselves do a much better job and have a much better attitude! Guess I had better change from sweats to jeans and sweater!
Thank you, Tania, for continuing to inspire me through your posts!
Yay! I am glad that you are enjoying the blog.
Happy Birthday, Joe! I hope Tania is making you a special dessert.
This green jumpsuit looks very nice on you. I’m glad you modeled it since i probably wouldn’t have even considered something like this.
Clothing always looks different on a person than in the stores and catalogs.
This outfit looks amazing on you!
Thanks, Sharon. I think that it is super cute and flattering.
The outfit is so cute! Definitely be out of my comfort zone. I would give it a whirl.
Give it a whirl, Julie! It is so fun!
The outfit is cute on you and I know I would have to step out of my comfort zone to wear one but…never say never I guess.
Sandy, outside the comfort zone, is where all the fun is. Lol!
Love the jumpsuit. The colours are great.
I am trying to put on different tops as most days I was in polo shirts – now trying to wear normal shirts.
I love the colors in the jumpsuit also.
Love that jumpsuit! You look great on it!
Thanks, Tracy.
You are rockin’ that jumpsuit! Looks very spring-like.
