Tomorrow is the first day of Spring, and I can’t wait. When I walked to the mailbox this morning, I noticed that my Forsyenthia bush was in full bloom, and that inspired me to wear something in yellow. I’ll give you all of the details of this outfit in the following paragraphs. But, first, let me tell you that my name is NOT William Blevins. Lol! This morning…..

My cellphone rang with a number that I didn’t recognize. They asked for William, and I politely told them that they had the wrong number. A few minutes later, the phone rang again, but from a different number. I answered, and once again, they were looking for William. That was only the beginning because the phone continued to ring all morning long and from a different number each time. I started hitting the ignore button each time it rang, but it started to get on my nerves.

Finally, I answered the phone in exasperation, told the person on the other end to take me off of their list, and that I had gotten around 85 calls that morning. She apologized, and we hung up. Five minutes later, the phone rings again!!! This time, I answered the phone, “THIS IS NOT WILLIAM BLEVINS!” None of that helped.

Joe had been secretly laughing over the whole mess, but he was even starting to get fed up with the calls. He walked back into the house as my phone started ringing again, and he said, “let me talk to them.” I thought that he would say that he WAS William and that he didn’t want whatever they were selling. NOPE, that is not what he did. He proceeded to say words to the poor man on the other end of the phone that would make a sailor blush. To make it worse, the man on the other end tried to protest, which made Joe all the madder.

As soon as Joe hung up the phone, he said, “what did you think?” I said, “I think this is going on the blog!” LOL!!! Anyway, I am happy to report that it has been several hours, and my phone hasn’t rung at all. Lol!

My pale yellow cable-knit sweater is gorgeous, but it had me searching Google for answers. It turns out; this sweater is manufactured with 60% cotton and 40% hemp. Now, I’ve heard of hemp ropes, and I know that they are very strong, but the sweater didn’t look scratchy or itchy, so I wanted to know more about the material. I found out that the textile is made from the stalk of the Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp is similar to cotton, but it is doesn’t shrink and doesn’t pill like cotton. Like the hemp ropes, clothing made from hemp is durable and will last almost double or triple that of cotton clothing. Hemp is also breathable, usually lightweight, and is ideal for warmer areas. WOW! I don’t know about you, but I am sold!

If I didn’t already love this sweater, I would after learning all about hemp. This pale yellow is such a gorgeous color, and when I walked through the house in it to show Joe, he said, “you have always loved that color.” I wasn’t aware that I had other things in this color, but if he says so, I am not about to argue with him after the tongue lashing he gave that man. Lol!

I was trying to think of any cons that I had with this sweater, and I honestly can’t think of any except maybe the price. But, remember, this will last for years, so you will get your money’s worth from it. Lol! I love the deep v-neck, and I think it will look great worn this fall with a button-up shirt under it. The sweater that I am wearing is a medium, which is plenty roomy. I saw that this sweater’s white and clay color is now on sale, so I ordered the white version also. I love cable-knit sweaters, and I can never have enough white sweaters.

Today’s jewelry is the Rebecca Gold Multi-Strand necklace in White Howlite, the Josie earrings in a great lightweight medium-sized hoop, and the Natalie hinge clasp bangle bracelet. Each of these items will be something that you will be able to wear for years since they will not be going out of style anytime soon.

I decided to wear my neutral suede kitten heels with this outfit, and I love the look. The kitten heels look dressy, and they elongate my legs, but they are easier to walk in than higher heels. These have a cushioned insole, and they are really comfortable, and I think they are the perfect neutral color. I am wearing a size 9 in these, and they fit true to size.

The search is over; I have found all of you a loose-fitting straight-leg pair of jeans that look great and aren’t baggy. I love the fit, the color, and the length of these jeans. Because I wanted to make sure that the jeans didn’t fit me too tight, I sized up to a 31 instead of my normal size 30. I size up because the higher rise jeans waist can be too tight on me since I carry a lot of weight in the tummy area. Yay, me… The jeans are cut slimmer through the hips and thighs and then fall straight to the ankle. That creates body balance and is very flattering to almost everyone.

The ankle-length jean is great for any style of shoe. Flats look awesome, sneakers look awesome, platform shoes look awesome, pumps look awesome, wedges look awesome, and boots look awesome. I think that you got the picture, right? Lol!

I am carrying a Tory Burch handbag that I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Nice handbags are my Achilles Heel, and I couldn’t help myself when I saw this one go on sale. At least I don’t have a shoe addiction too, or at least I don’t have one yet. Lol!

I am celebrating this month because it is Joe’s Birthday month. He told me that I couldn’t make a big deal out of his birthday. I don’t think that announcing for the entire world to see is making a big deal. Lol! So, randomly, each week, I am going to pick a winner for a gift. The gifts will vary in size and price, and I will pick the winner from the comments that I receive during the week.

This week’s winner is…..Lorie!!! Keep commenting, and you might be next week’s winner.

  6. Kim Polzin says:

Go Joe! Ha ha. My husband does the same thing. He especially hates the callers who prey on the elderly – goes into the garage and yells into the phone as loudly as possible that they are trying to take advantage of people. The shrieking is enough to make the caller hang up. Or, he’ll try to talk longer and take up time so the caller can reach fewer unsuspecting people. I suspect he’d have a good chuckle with Joe sometime.

Hi – Hemp was popular for all kinds of textiles in the distant pass, but since it is associated with the “evil” marijuana plant, it fell out of popularity. One of the “myths” is that you could get high touching it or wearing it. Or that growing the plant for textiles was just a cover for drug production. The textile has been being used under different names – flax, jute, abaca, burlap – just to name a few. So we’ve all probably seen it, used, and maybe even worn it, just under one of it’s aliases. I hope you don’t mind my history lesson, I’m very involved with textiles and love all this interesting lore. I too like the use of hemp in fabrics, it usually gives them a firmness or crispness to the drape – a bit of nice structure, depending on how much it in the fabric. Love your blog – fashion, fun and some Bible – I’m totally there!

  8. Wow! That sweater is so pretty and looks great with your hair. I like the white one too. I may have to indulge. Quite pricey and I have a million sweaters…we’ll see. I like your whole look. The jeans are great! You already “made me” buy the Kate Spade purse! Lol! Getting in trouble…
Have a happy weekend Tania and happy spring! Yay!

  9. I love your outfit! Happy birthday to Joe!

  10. Victoria Elliott says:

Beautiful sweater. Love the soft color. Are those what they are calling dad jeans?

  11. Love everything about this!

  12. Love the sweater. Your whole outfit is so put together.
I hate phone calls like the ones you had. We were getting cold calls and eventually I told them I would phone the police if they kept harassing me. It seems to have worked.

  13. Sold! I want that entire outfit! Looks perfect on you.

  14. You look fantastic in this outfit. Pale yellow is definitely your color!!

  15. LISA CASTRO says:

Looking good in that color! Your husband is funny…

  16. I love yellow. The sweater and jeans look perfect together. The whole outfit looks like SPRING!

  17. Love the yellow sweater with the yellow building in the background. I’ve been enjoying the new locations for your recent posts. 💛

  18. Love the yellow sweater. I don’t have any yellow so it might be something I should try.

  19. Such a cute outfit Tania. Love that sweater. Such a soft pretty yellow color. It’s a keeper!!!

  20. Good morning, Not William Blevins! Great story, though I’m sorry it was such a pain. Sounds like Joe got you off the call list! LOL! WTG, Joe! Cute, cute jeans!

  21. I like the look of skinny jeans, but I really welcome this slightly looser style just in time for the warmer months! I get hot quickly in tight jeans, and the looser fit looks classy.

  22. Christy Causey says:

Love the sweater! We had a problem years ago where someone listed our number and we kept getting calls about goats for sale. After a lot of calls found out which paper they had posted and they had the wrong area code. I live 17 miles north of Atlanta no room for goats. LOL

  23. Love those jeans. They remind me of a pair of Banana Republic jeans that I had several years ago. I literally wore them until the backside wore out on them. May have to check these out.

  24. Patti wagner says:

Great look! Love, love, these jeans. I’m going to order.

  25. The outfit is fantastic! Great spring look. I like that the jeans can be worn with heels or sneakers. I do have wuestion about sperry sneakers. I ordered the crest vibe in my usual size 9 and they are so tight. Do they stretch or am I facing weeks of blisters?

    1. That is weird, Michele. I had to size down a half-size in my Sperry’s. I would order a half size up, and then send back the pair that you don’t like.

  26. You look great. This is definitely your color.

    1. Robin, I have never thought that any yellow was my color, but I do like wearing it with navy especially.

  27. you look fabulous! I normally dont like yellow (on me) or this style of jeans, BUT you have me trying them out because they look great on you !

    1. Mary, that made me chuckle. It will take a while before this style starts to rub off on you, but then you will love it.

  28. That shade of yellow is very pretty on you and I may just have to try ankle jeans. I’m shorter so I sometimes feel like they don’t look the best on me but maybe if I wear a wedge or heel they would look a little better. Have a great Friday.

    1. Sandy, I love ankle jeans, and I noticed that in the show Sex in the City, Sarah Jessica Parker always wore ankle pants. She was the fashionable one on the show.

  29. Very cute outfit today! Those jeans are very flattering.

    1. Thanks, Susan! I really love the way they looked.

    2. Do you know what the color is, technically? If not, let me ask your readers how they would describe this color. I might be able to wear it (I hope!).

      1. Sandy, I went online to look for the name of the color, and y’all sold it out!!! It is no longer on the website since it was so popular today!

  30. Love the yellow!!
    The whole look is nice!
Funny story i am it wasn’t while you were dealing with it though.

    1. Monica, I sure hope the calls don’t start again today.

  31. Linnie S Z says:

Love love LOVE that yellow! Cool jeans. Outfit = A+

  32. Linnie S Z says:

  33. You look great! Enjoyed the story!

    1. I’m crossing my fingers that the calls don’t start back up today.

  34. You look so fabulous! The color of your sweater and shoes are so perfect! I am so done with skinny jeans! You have the look I have been trying to achieve with jeans. The jeans are so slimming yet stylish and comfy all in one. Those are perfect on you! Ok, now you have to post more outfits styled with those type of jeans. 🙂

    1. Anne, I have a feeling that I will be wearing these jeans a lot!
