WHO NEEDS A WORM ANYWAY
Well, I am in the “trying to keep my head above water” survival mode right now. Lol! It sure didn’t take long for that to happen since I went back to work. My table/desk is a mess and I didn’t even make my bed this morning. A guess a disclaimer would be that I have been known to not make my bed until I am getting ready to get back in it, but normally I do straighten it up of the mornings. I didn’t have to stay all day at work yesterday since I had a scheduled call already for 4:00 pm, so I hightailed it out of there a little early. Even though I have been setting my alarm clock I have not been able to make myself get out of bed early. I am not a morning person!!! I will not be getting a worm any time soon. Lol!
When I went to the convention last week I was privileged to get to hear Mel Robbins speak. Mel Robbins is the author of the 5 Second Rule, which is an incredible book that talks about how she was able to turn her life around by applying this simple rule. She said that she needed to get out of bed and she envisioned herself like a rocket so she counted backward from 5. Just like a lunch of a rocket ship, she counted 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and then she got up. SHe was amazed at how easy that little trick worked so she kept incorporating it into her everyday life. Anytime she knew that she “needed” to do something but she didn’t “want” to do it, she would count backward from 5 and then she found herself going ahead with the activity. She talks about how the brain works and why counting backward helps you to do this tasks but I forget all of the specifics. It is a book worth reading though. Now, I just need to actually apply it to my mornings. Lol! I’ll let you know if it worked for me because I am going to try it tomorrow morning.
Let me start off by saying that I love this print on this top. I love the deep colors which are perfect for fall and I love a paisley print, it is one of my favorites. BUT, I am not loving the top as a whole. I decided to take some pictures of the top like it would be if I was wearing it somewhere. Taking a picture gives you a completely different perspective than if you just look in the mirror. You should try it sometime, you will see what I mean. Anyway, once I took the pictures and downloaded them, I was leaning toward taking the top back. Help me out here, what do you think? This came from a local boutique and it is by Karen Kane, so it is a nice top. I just can’t help but think that I can find something that I would like better. Why would I settle for something that I don’t love? I guess I know what I am going to do. Here are some paisley tops that I do really like.
I don’t have on any jewelry except for the Ciara earrings! These long teardrop gold filigree earrings have become a go-to for me this year. They go with almost anything and they make quite a statement. I ordered a bunch more jewelry from Plunder and paid to have it shipped 2-day service so that I can get it in time to video it for Friday’s post. Don’t forget about this month’s giveaway since this is the last week to take advantage of it. I have been celebrating my 3 year blog anniversary by offering a free piece of jewelry with every 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) for this entire month! Go here and have fun shopping! Make sure that you pick a party with my name in it so that I can track the purchases.
My tan skinny pants are also Karen Kane. I love this color for fall. It is a butterscotch color. That just made me hungry. Lol! I couldn’t find these pants on their website but I did find some that were very similar for you. I already have a couple pair of pants in this color but one is a corduroy and one is a chino style. This one has the spandex material in it so it is more like a legging style. Yes, I need them all. Lol!
These platform sandals are from Marc Fisher. They have been a pair that I have worn a lot since I bought them a couple of years ago. I liked the gold rings which is a unique detail that helps them to stand out. But, it is the neutral color that I love. This shoe is like the earrings above, they just go with almost anything. You need to have a good neutral pair of shoes that you can wear with a dress, shorts, pants, suits, jeans, etc.
Did you see my post yesterday where I told about my sister watching my 5-minute face tutorial? She was talking to her husband and mentioned that Rodan + Fields really does work and he commented back that he thought it was a “magical potion.” Lol!!! I told Joe the story and he said that he didn’t know if it was a magical potion or snake oil but all he knows is that the stuff really works. So, if you are interested in getting your own “magical potion” or even some “snake oil” then go here to take the Solutions Tool and see what the site recommends. Don’t you just love husbands???

I thought this was a Cato top at first glance, not a fan of the cut out. I must have missed why you are back to work. I always enjoy your blogs!
I love the print and Fall colors in the top. Don’t know if you’re at all in to alterations but if the cold shoulders were a little higher I think it would make all the difference! The issue is they look like they are falling off your arms. If they were going straight across from the neckline it would be perfect. Looks great w your skin tone ??
The top has a lovely print and colors and it looks good on you. However, if you don’t love it don’t get it because you won’t wear it much in my opinion. I personally just can’t get into the “cold shoulder” thing. You have my favorite shoes on today.
I don’t know Tania you may have to keep that top! It looks really stunning!
I like the colors in the top. However I don’t like the style at all. It looks like they couldn’t make up their mind how to cut it & just threw it all together. It would look better in my opinion with full sleeves. I always associate paisley prints with more of a fall or winter look which means cooler weather. Which means sleeves. I would also probably wear a darker color of pants like a dark tan or rust. I agree with a lot of people. If you have any doubts follow your instinct or it will probably just hang in your closet. I speak from experience. lol
I love the colors in the top and that it’s a tunic. It looks great on you and like the outfit as a whole. I don’t care for the top portion of the top, I think the way it’s made is too much. I say it goes back. If you don’t love it, you won’t wear it.
I’m not a fan of the cold shoulder look, off the shoulder I do like. Your back at the family business??? I thought you retired to pursue your other interests……
I agree with you about the top. The deep colors make you think “fall,” but it’s too bare (in my opinion) at the top for fall. I’m not a fan of all the off-the-shoulder, cold shoulder, etc. tops anyway. I think you can do better.
Tania, your a beautiful women. I love the pattern too but I think it’s too busy on the top with the pattern. But if you like it, thats all that matters. You’re the one wearing it and if you’re comfortable in it, go for it!!!!?
Oh Tania, we are so much alike !! I am not a morning person either. I make my bed in the same manner as you…pull up the covers (most days) & make it before we get into it at night!! I will try the rocket approach tomorrow also . Paisley is my FAV ! This top just looks to big on you, not a fan despite the colors & pattern.
