WHO NEEDS A WORM ANYWAY
Well, I am in the “trying to keep my head above water” survival mode right now. Lol! It sure didn’t take long for that to happen since I went back to work. My table/desk is a mess and I didn’t even make my bed this morning. A guess a disclaimer would be that I have been known to not make my bed until I am getting ready to get back in it, but normally I do straighten it up of the mornings. I didn’t have to stay all day at work yesterday since I had a scheduled call already for 4:00 pm, so I hightailed it out of there a little early. Even though I have been setting my alarm clock I have not been able to make myself get out of bed early. I am not a morning person!!! I will not be getting a worm any time soon. Lol!
When I went to the convention last week I was privileged to get to hear Mel Robbins speak. Mel Robbins is the author of the 5 Second Rule, which is an incredible book that talks about how she was able to turn her life around by applying this simple rule. She said that she needed to get out of bed and she envisioned herself like a rocket so she counted backward from 5. Just like a lunch of a rocket ship, she counted 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and then she got up. SHe was amazed at how easy that little trick worked so she kept incorporating it into her everyday life. Anytime she knew that she “needed” to do something but she didn’t “want” to do it, she would count backward from 5 and then she found herself going ahead with the activity. She talks about how the brain works and why counting backward helps you to do this tasks but I forget all of the specifics. It is a book worth reading though. Now, I just need to actually apply it to my mornings. Lol! I’ll let you know if it worked for me because I am going to try it tomorrow morning.
Let me start off by saying that I love this print on this top. I love the deep colors which are perfect for fall and I love a paisley print, it is one of my favorites. BUT, I am not loving the top as a whole. I decided to take some pictures of the top like it would be if I was wearing it somewhere. Taking a picture gives you a completely different perspective than if you just look in the mirror. You should try it sometime, you will see what I mean. Anyway, once I took the pictures and downloaded them, I was leaning toward taking the top back. Help me out here, what do you think? This came from a local boutique and it is by Karen Kane, so it is a nice top. I just can’t help but think that I can find something that I would like better. Why would I settle for something that I don’t love? I guess I know what I am going to do. Here are some paisley tops that I do really like.

Love your hair and makeup. The length of the top is all wrong. When in doubt, take it back. There are too many cute tops to be had out there to keep one that doesn’t work.
I think the top is cute but it looks like it is too large for you. Maybe a size smaller would be better. Good luck! I Love your blog.
Not a big fan of the top. I like the print but not the open sleeves. Seems too long on you too. I do love your hair and makeup.
I think the cutout top draws your down–makes me think of “droopy”.
I like the colors of the top but not the style. I also think the proportion is off but I love your hair, earrings and shoes!
I really like the top & the colors are great. Just not for this time of year.
You look really good in it though.
I love the print of this top, but don’t like the cutouts either. But then I’m not a fan of the cold shoulder style. These sleeves are so low that I would constantly feel like they were falling off and I would be pulling them up. Ha!
I do not care for this top. The straps are too skinny, too much arm pit is showing and the band across the front is just not attractive. Love the fit of the pants but I agree with Junkeyandjewels…than color looks too much like a skin tone.
Two things: I like but don’t love the top and the other is that when I wore these color pants a while ago my son-in-law thought I didn’t have any on! Yikes! =0
I love that top! But, not so much with tan pants—I think a dark color might be better—burgundy, black/navy, whichever is in the print….LOVE your hair, too!
Beautiful print but not a very flattering top.
