WHITE JEANS AFTER LABOR DAY
I needed some color in my life today. Whew! It has been a crazy day or two for the blog. I am not that tech-savvy and talking to technical people about issues that I can’t describe is a challenge. Then, they have a challenge in trying to “dumb” it down for me so that I can understand. Lol! I take solace in knowing that there are probably even LESS tech-savvy people than me out there that they have to talk to. At least I would like to think that there are.
The website was up, down, up, down, and then up again for the biggest part of yesterday. I just finally gave up on looking to see if it was working and did other things. This all falls under the heading of “I can’t control everything” and that drives me bonkers! I hate when I feel like I am at the mercy of someone else who doesn’t care about the outcome near as much as I do. To them, this was a job, but to me, it was my baby. Lol! All kinds of crazy thoughts went through my mind. “What if I have been hacked?” “What if everything disappears?” “What if it can’t be fixed?” “What if, what if, what if…..” Why do we automatically go to the worse case scenario when something happens? We never think, “This will make my blog faster.” “I will have better security.” “I will have something to talk about on the blog post tomorrow.” Lol!!!
Color just brightens my mood and hot pink is a perfect mood brightener. The short sleeve polo top is one that I bought to wear golfing but it is great for wearing under sweaters or with jackets, etc. Just because an item is short sleeved does not mean that you have to pack it away for the winter. I added a lightweight vest over it that I bought at Belk. It is by a brand called Crown and Ivy.

Just cannot wear white after Labor Day, unless it is off white wool. It just feels awkward. Some southern traditions can’t be broken no matter how hard one tries and I am ok with that. I will pull the white slacks and jeans out on Easter. LOL. Cheers to those of you that can pull it off. Glad your website is working now.
Thanks for the encouragement about wearing white after Labor Day! I was born and raised in Central Florida, and had that rule baked into my brain for as long as I can remember. It is so stinkin’ hot down here right now, so I decided it was time to get over that one…LOL! Thanks for giving us a little taste of Fall in your pictures today 🙂
I love wearing my white pants in the heat of summer but I put them away in late September, when the morning temperatures have cooled. By then, I’m ready for a different color palette.
I think the reason that white is traditionally worn
in the warmer months is that light colors reflect heat. So it makes sense to wear them in the summer to feel cooler Dark colors absorb heat so it makes sense to wear them in the cooler months to feel warmer.
I have a capsule wardrobe for each season which keeps me from getting bored with my clothes. It gives me the variety that I crave and ensures that I wear most items at least once.
What kind of shoes do you have on? I may have missed that part in your email.
They are so old that I didn’t even mention them. They are by Isaac Mizrahi.
I love your white jeans and especially with the hot pink colors! After reading this, I will not put my white jeans away for the winter.
Yay, Sarah! Keep those jeans out.
So pleased your normal service has resumed. I do miss you when you are not here.
Thanks, Jill. It was stressful.
The vest looks really cute with the shirt! Nice to know that we can continue to wear our white jeans into fall and winter.
It was a way of telling the upper class and the lower class.
What brand are your shoes? I love ballet flats, and those look comfortable. Thanks!
They are by Isaac Mizrahi and very old. They are very comfortable.
Hi Tania! Soooo glad your website is back up and running today!! I was going to have some major “Tania withdrawals” if I couldn’t read your blog two days in a row! ha ha You read my mind when you did this post about wearing white after Labor Day because I’ve been thinking about this very thing. I mean think about it, SNOW is white and when does snow fall…during the WINTER! You can play in white snow, ski in white snow, build snowmen with white snow, eat snow ice cream made from white snow (hopefully with white and not the yellow – hee hee), and let white snow fall all over you, but you’re not supposed to wear white clothing??? That was a bit of a rant, wasn’t it? LOL Anywayyyy, so glad you’re back and I’ll be looking forward to your post tomorrow!
I know what you mean, Kim. Everything in winter is white so why shouldn’t we wear it also?
To recap what I tried to send earlier: ?!! It snowed last night! Your cute outfit won’t work for me today. Maybe with a parka and boots!? ?
Goodness, Janet. I love snow but you can keep it right now. Lol!
Looking cute. Glad you’re back online!
testing! The website Firewall has been preventing comments. Hopefully, they have everything fixed now!
