Gurls, I have taken a small break between my purging and cleaning to do a try-on session. This serves two purposes, and I am a multi-tasker at heart. One, it brings you a lot of new styles to see all at once, and two, I can get the things that I am not keeping boxed up and sent back. That will be less stuff to be in the way. BTW, if you are interested in any of the jewelry that I am getting rid of, be sure to join my FB group HERE. My daughter-in-law is going to be posting items for sale starting tonight. Now, I am going to hop right into the post because there are a lot of items.
Another thing that I love is when an item can be worn in more than one way. That is a massive plus in my book because it gives you more opportunities to wear it, and no one will know it is the same item. This (here) reversible navy/plaid vest by Thread & Supply is warm and snuggly as well as stylish.
I love the color combination of the fuzzy plaid; I can see so many ways that these can be worn. I am wearing a size large, and it fits me great and has enough room to be worn over a sweater or turtleneck. The vest comes in a couple of other color combinations, so be sure to check it out.
This (here) Leith longline cardigan is a gorgeous shade of burgundy. The cardigan has a smooth shawl collar that you can adjust to suit yourself. I like creating a larger collar, and since I am wearing a size large, I had plenty of room to do that. This is a soft cardigan, and the longer length is very striking, especially with a pair of high heel booties.
You can see the flowy style of the cardigan and how lightweight it is. The sweater also comes in gray and beige if you are interested in a neutral, instead of the burgundy color. This can be hand washed and dried flat, so no trip needed to the dry cleaner. I am 5’6″ for a sizing reference, and the sweater is 47″ long. If you are petite, then this might not be the cardigan for you.
Adorable! That is the word that I would use to describe this curly teddy jacket (here) by Mural. This deep brown color is called Coffee Bean, and I think that is a pretty accurate description. The first thing that I worried about when I open the coat was, “how bad will this shed?” I didn’t think it was terrible at all, and I didn’t see it coming off on my white top. It is lined on the inside, and also the pockets, and I think that helped out a lot. I am wearing a size large.
The way the jacket is made is a double-breasted style. But, this coat runs large, and the large that I am wearing swallows me. A medium would have worked so much better. I was amazed at the weight of this coat because of the price. It is nice and heavy, and an excellent quality jacket for only 53.40.
I wanted to give you a close up of the curly material. It is very, very soft, and you feel like you have been wrapped up in a blanket. This jacket also comes in a beautiful green called Sycamore if brown is too drab for you. Just remember, size down if you decide that you can’t pass this up because of the price.
I just read an article about baby pink being one of the colors that is going to be trending for spring. The article showed several different styles from the runway shows, and also showed a picture of one of the “Royals” who is already embracing the gorgeous hue.
This super-soft turtleneck from J. Crew (here) is a mixture of merino wool, alpaca. I suppose this is what makes the sweater so soft. Lol! I am wearing a size large, and I think that it fits me perfectly. I wanted to show you how the sweater has a rounded hem and a slight high low style, which is flattering. The sweater also comes in several neutrals, as well as a pretty green and a bright burgundy. It is also machine washable, which surprised me since it had wool and alpaca listed in the materials. Just make sure not to put it in the dryer unless you want to give it to your granddaughter. Lol!
Is it just me, or do you think that I should bust out singing, “You’re the one that I want?” Lol! Can you believe that Grease came out in 1978 over 41 years ago? You don’t often see me wear black on black on black. But, all of these items were in my trunk this month, and I wanted to show them to you as quickly as I could.
I must admit that I was shocked at how much I liked this top once I put it on. This shimmer wrap top by Madewell (here) has a front snap closure and a deep v neckline. The slightly sheer sleeves and puffed shoulders are cute and give the top some extra visual interest. This top is shorter, but it hits right at the waist and features an elastic band. The body of the top is lined, so you don’t have to worry about adding a camisole. I wanted to do a close-up of the top so that you could see the metallic threads that run through the top. This would be great for a Valentine’s date night look! Hubba hubba! I am wearing a size large, and it fits great.
Look at these high-waisted coated skinny jeans (here) by Kut From The Kloth! These jeans look amazing on in person, and they look leather. I have tried on a lot of coated jeans, and these are the best that I have come across. I wore these when I went to Tennessee for Christmas, and I got a lot of compliments on them. I do think that I will be wearing these jeans for Valentine’s day, now I have to figure out how to trick Joe into going out. Lol!
Here is a better look at the Missie boots (here) from Steve Madden. These pointy toe leather boots have a chunky block heel that is 2 3/4″ high. They are a great staple for a fall and winter wardrobe. I am wearing my usual size 9, so these run true to size.
This Eliza J metallic top is gorgeous! But, it doesn’t fit me very well, and it is waaaay too tight. The funny thing is, it doesn’t look bad in the photos. Lol! I can barely breathe, and I worried that I wasn’t going to be able to get this back off over my head. Hahaha!
The pleats and the wrap style are very figure-flattering. The deep v-neck is the perfect depth for an elegant night out, and there is a small clasp to hold the top together. I can’t tell you how much I liked this top and how beautiful it was in person. If you have an event upcoming, (mother of the bride/groom, etc.), then give this top (here) some thought. This is a size 12, and I usually wear a size 10, and it is still too tight.
I don’t know if you noticed the shoe that I was wearing, but it is a slingback by Chinese Laundry. For those of you who like a smaller heel, I think that you will really like this shoe. The chunky block heel is 2 1/4″ tall, and it is very substantial to give you balance when you walk. I love my skinny heels, but you have to watch about them slipping out from under you. ? The sling strap stretches so that you can slip these on easily. The heel is covered in the same material, and the toe is contrasting for a modern look. I am wearing my usual size 9, so the shoes are true to size. Here is the link to the shoes.
I hope that you enjoyed the try-on session today. All of the items were in my trunk club this month, and they are all available from Nordstrom.
So many of you have messaged me about trying to find the fountain of youth. As far as I know, there is no such thing, but I do believe that I have found the next best thing. I am amazed when I look back at my photos when I started blogging because I think that I genuinely look younger. Who wouldn’t want that? Does anyone want to look older???
I am going to be giving away a “mini” or a travel size regimen to some lucky winner. Go to HERE and take the solutions tool to be entered.
