50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVELIt is crazy how long it takes to get back in the swing of things. I think I am still experiencing “jet lag” even though I was never on a jet. Lol! I was so tired when I got home the other day that I thought I would sleep like a rock but unless that rock is one that wakes up around 3:30 am and then can’t go back to sleep, I was rock free. Maybe the eclipse was messing with me. Haha!50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVELI love traveling but the dogs are not doing well when we are gone. We have someone who stays at our house and takes care of the dogs but the last two times that we have gone somewhere we come home and Beckley is in terrible shape. I think he is grieving because we are gone. He was moping around when I got home and wouldn’t even take a treat from me. I finally got him to drink some water and about an hour later he finally ate a little food. When I got up the next morning he was doing better. The problem is that we have another trip coming up over Labor Day Weekend. I have been looking forward to the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, Florida for over a year now. If you are going to the festival or if you live in the area we need to get together while I am down there. BUT, now I am going to be worried about Beckley and wondering how he is doing. Do you gurls have any suggestions?50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVELI wore this outfit the day I was traveling to Tennessee. Both pieces are items that I have recently worn and I thought I would mix things up and show you that this is what you should be doing also. The top is from Cato Fashions and I wore it with linen pants the last time. A white top will match almost anything so you can get plenty of wear from them. I liked this one because of the lace detail that gave it some character. My son said it looked like I was wearing a doily. Well, I can’t say that he is wrong. Lol!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVEL These are real STATEMENT earrings!!! I mentioned in a blog post a week or so ago that Plunder had come out with 4 different earrings as a special. They sold out by late that afternoon. Most of the time I don’t have time to even mention specials to you because they have sold out by the time I get my post ready to go live. I really wish these had stayed around because I fell in love with them once I put them on. If you were a Bronco fan, an Auburn Tigers fan, or a University of Virginia fan these would have been perfect for you. The small gold necklace I have on has an “S” stamped on it. It is the Jefra and it is perfect for someone who prefers dainty jewelry.  50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVEL After I did my post on “Believe” the other day I went and found my necklace. It had been lost and I was determined to find it. I can’t believe that someone hung it up in a jewelry chest! I mean, who would ever think to look there??? I bought that necklace in Marietta Georgia when I went down for a fashion show but you can go on Amazon, they carry the Monarch Inspirations brand. What can I say about this Kate Spade bag? I am still totally in love with it!!! I can’t make myself change purses so I guess you will be seeing it for a while, sorry. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVEL I know I have been wearing these t-strap sandals by Tommy Hilfiger all summer long and you are probably getting sick of seeing them. I just love how easy they slip on and they still look nice. I promise you that I have lots of shoes but these seem to be one of the pairs I want to wear the most often. Since I was traveling, I like a pair that I can slip off while Joe is driving. I like to get as comfortable as possible.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVELThese cute polka dot pants are new. I got them in my last stitch fix box and I love the way they fit. I always pick a comfortable pair of pants that are pull-on or very stretchy when I travel. The last thing I want is to feel like I am being cut in to by a pair of pants on a long trip. I have walked in at work on travel days and they know immediately that I am going somewhere. It must be the leggings and a sweatshirt look that I have been known to travel in. Lol! Since the blog, I have had to step up my game a notch or two. You gurls keep me on the straight and narrow.

50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU TRAVELI know you saw my lashes in that up-close picture! Oh my goodness, they are truly getting long. I told Joe on the way to Tennessee that they kept hitting my sunglasses. Haha! I have a special running right now that if you place an order as a PC (new or existing) for either the Regimen/Hydration Serum combo (with the Free Travel Kit) OR the Regimen/Lash Boost combo that is 20% off by Sunday night then I am also refunding you 15% off the PC price. This is a deal that is amazing.  I also wanted to let any of you that are living in Australia that Rodan + Fields will be launching in September. This is going to be a game changer. Here is a blog article that Grazia posted about the coming invasion. If you have any thoughts in the back of your mind about this opportunity now is the time to act. Pre-enrolling (free) ends August 31st so don’t wait.

You know when you put a post on FaceBook you wait to see if you will get any “likes” or “hearts?” That is how I feel about my blog. Leaving a comment and pinning a picture to Pinterest is my equivalent to a “like.” If you share my post on FaceBook that is a “heart.” Show me some love, gurls!!!

  1. Love those earrings!!! They’re so happy and festive – and no, you don’t look like you’re wearing a doily! haha Could you and Joe take your camper or rent one to take to the Pepsi Jam? That way you could take both doggies and they’d be with you during the trip. Doggies love to ride! 😉 I know what you mean about your long eyelashes…a few weeks ago I went to the eye doctor and my eyelashes kept getting mashed up against the different lenses I was to look through during the exam. lol I also found out that my eye doctor uses R+F too! I knew her skin looked amazing the moment she walked through the door. How about that!

Know what you mean by the 3:30 wake up business! Love that look, fresh and summery. what to wear in a hurricane is my dilemma! Haha, the Texas Gulf coast is about to get hit!

  3. Tania, love your blog; so glad I found it! To help Beckley, take him with you! Many hotels are pet friendly now.

  4. Love the outfit! The top makes your face light up.

  5. Good morning! WOW!! ❤️Your earrings! Love your outfit! SO FUN, SO CHEERFUL!

Love all your comments you include in your blog! Burst out laughing re: your son’s comment about the doily! Tons of personality just like his Momma!

Thank you for helping ALL of us, who read your blog, have a fun and positive day! You’re great! ?

If I remember right, I think Beckley has recently developed diabetes? If that is the case, what he eats has to balance with his medicine. If not, it’ll make him sick. I would try to find a veterinarian who will board the dogs and watch Beckley closely. It’s kind of a catch-22 because I know mine don’t want to eat very well at the vet, but if the dog is not eating at home anyway, at least a vet can keep an eye on his health and take steps to try to help him out. I hope you can find a good solution that works for you and Beckley!

  7. Tania, you might try leaving an article of your clothing that has your scent on it and put it in Beckly’s bed or other favorite sleeping place. I left a soft cotton nightie on our bed when we went on our last trip (16 days!) And it was just covered with cat hair when we got home so I know our cat slept on it. We had a young girl stay in our house too which helped. It might help your four legged friends!

  8. We find our dogs don’t do well when we leave too so we’ve started taking them with us. They do have some stress in the car and in the place we stay but they do soooo much better. Plus, I can see them and know what to do if they’re stressed out. Plus, vacations are so much more fun with them. Hope that helps!

  9. Our husky stops eating for days when we are gone and it’s gotten worse as she gets older. Some animals definitely grieve when their loved ones aren’t around like usual. Unfortunately I have no good advice for you because we’ve had no luck in finding something that helps! But I sympathize with you greatly!!!

  10. I love your outfit. What kind of strapless bra do you wear with off the shoulder things? I have one but I feel I have to keep pulling it up. Drives me crazy. I am pretty average size bust wise but I can’t find a comfortable one. Thanks!

    1. I’d also like a recommendation for a strapless bra that doesn’t sag or hurt after a few hours. I love the strapless tops but never buy them because of the challenge of finding a reasonable bra.

      1. My favorite strapless bra is by Sweet Nothings. You can find that brand at WalMart. I am not endowed in that area so I do not know how they would work for larger chested women but it works great for me.
