Mother’s Day is fast approaching. It is May 14th this year. It falls on my birthday every once in a while, and this is the year! So, Happy Mother’s Day to you, and Happy Birthday to ME! Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate Mothers all over the world, and how you choose to celebrate is unique to you. You might go out to brunch, cook dinner for the family, or picnic at a park. No matter how you choose to celebrate, I’ve got some outfits that will answer the question of what to wear for Mother’s Day.

What to Wear for Mother’s Day for Church

Mother’s Day always falls on Sunday, so I’m including several dresses that would be great to wear for Mother’s Day. I was raised only to wear dresses to church, and I can’t break that habit. Plus, I enjoy dressing up in a dress, and my husband never fails to compliment me.

This midi dress is one of the prettiest ones I’ve worn in a while. I love the deep v-neck, which elongates your neck and helps you to appear thinner. The flutter sleeves are not too large and add a feminine touch to the dress. I’m wearing a large, which is what size I usually wear in a dress, and it fits great.

Finding the perfect length dress can be a challenge. It is all about your body, height, and personal taste. Some women think ladies over 50 shouldn’t wear dresses above the knee. I think it is a matter of personal preference. If you feel confident in dresses above the knee, go for it! Petite women look great in shorter dresses because it shows more leg and helps them to appear taller. This is a 2-piece outfit consisting of a Navy Long Sleeve Lace Pieced Top and a Lace Inset Tiered Mini Skirt.

What To Wear For Mother’s Day Brunch

Last year, we went to a brunch, and it was fabulous. I’m hoping that is what we do again this year, and these outfits would be perfect for Mother’s Day Brunch.

A jumpsuit seems to be one of those items you either love or hate. I love a jumpsuit since it is a one-and-done item, and I don’t have to worry if it matches. This jumpsuit is on trend for summer with its wide legs. I love the flowyness of this jumpsuit, which can be dressed up or worn casually. The jumpsuit would look super cute with a denim jacket and a pair of sneakers for an on-the-go look. I’m wearing a size large, and it fits me perfectly.

Camel Schoolboy Blazer (Large) || Black Linen Pants (Medium – reordered a small) || Braided Sandals (TTS) || Woven Tote

I love the classic color combination of this outfit. Camel and black look fabulous together, and the white is almost a pop of color. The linen wide-leg pants run large, so size down. I tried a medium first but re-ordered a small, which fit me perfectly.

There is only one word to describe this Chambray Ruffle Flounce Dress, and that is adorable! This dress is so stinking cute, and to all you ladies who have been asking for a shorter dress – this one is for you.

What To Wear For A Casual Mother’s Day

Most of the time, I have a casual Mother’s Day. None of my children or grandchildren live close to me, so I never know if I will be seeing them. Sometimes I go to my mom’s, but I’ll be there the following weekend for a wedding. I like a casual outfit for Mother’s Day, especially if the grandbabies come to visit. Jeans or chinos are what I usually wear, although the weather can play a factor in my choice.

A black blazer with a white tee is a classic look. The frayed hem jeans are trendy, but when paired with other items, the look is polished and chic.

This spring look is super cute and versatile. You can wear both pieces in multiple ways to get your money’s worth from the purchase. The green top has a square neckline and puff sleeves. These details are modern and help you to show that you keep an eye on fashion. The Navy Wide Leg Crops are dressier than jeans, and they look great with the Embroidered Floral Mules. I also love wearing heels with crop pants since the shoes can shine.

This gorgeous Blue Johnny Collar Pullover also features a woven pointelle shell print, a beautiful, unique feature. This is an open weave so you can see through it a bit. I’m wearing a nude bra, so this doesn’t bother me; however, for some, you might want to wear a cami. The sweater is also available in black, which would look gorgeous with my white jeans. I’m wearing a medium which is the perfect size for me.

Choosing a colored denim jacket is easy. If you intend to wear it with a particular item, you must make sure the color matches it. I wear a lot of pink and shades of purple, so I chose Orchid Bloom. The Aurora Pink would be my next choice since I know I would get a lot of wear from it. Look in your closet, and pick out a colored denim jacket that would go with your existing clothing.

I hope I’ve answered the question of what to wear for Mother’s Day, but if not, let me know.

    Hi
Always appreciate your posts. I really the pink jean jacket. The dresses are really cute. Cant see myself in any of them but appreciate the style. I’m Canadian so when you show the cute clothes at Walmart they must be in US only.
Yes the Lord is our shield especially in the days of trouble.

  6. my favorite outfits today are the camel jacket and the wide leg linen pant. My second favorite outfit is the blue scrunch jacket and the frayed jeans. I didn’t care for the shorter dresses

  7. I’m like you and have a hard time wearing anything other than dresses to church. I hate my arms and legs, so I’m always looking for a dress with some length and a decent length sleeve (no puff sleeves or sleeveless). These are super hard to find. Most are either long and sleeveless or short and have little to no sleeve. Oh, the struggle!
