WHAT TO WEAR FOR AN EVERYDAY OUTFIT IN THE FALL
Well, it is finally in the books. Everything about 2020 has been different, and that includes our Presidential election. I am writing this on Tuesday night before the polls start to close, so I don’t know how things are going. Truth be told, by the time you are reading this on Wednesday, we probably still won’t have a concrete idea of who will be our next President. I voted, and that is all that I could do, now we wait to see what the future will bring.
I am not political, so I don’t want to turn this into a post about politics. I simply wanted to observe yet another obstacle that this year has thrown at everyone. Everyone has been affected in some way by this pandemic. I hope that whoever was/is elected President will heal our nation from this virus that is spread by air and the one that is spread by hate. But, for now, we can all say a quick prayer of thanks that the ads, calls, and surveys are hopefully over!!! I really felt sorry for any of you who lived in a swing state since I am sure that you were inundated with campaigns on both sides. Now you can start watching television and answering the phone again. I’m sure that the people who are constantly calling about “your extended warranty” are relieved that the phone lines are no longer congested. Lol!
I love a Pointelle sweater, and I think this black one is so pretty with the denim shirt underneath it. I love how the denim shows through the Pointelle pattern. I think this pattern is feminine and graceful. I’ve always loved a cable-knit sweater, and the Pointelle pattern adds another element to the look. This black pull-on sweater has a large band at the hem, and there are cute buttons on the shoulders. I am wearing a size large, and it fits great. I ordered the larger size since I knew that I would always be wearing a shirt or turtleneck under the sweater. The sweater also comes in camel, so hopefully, one of these colors will work for you.
I added a pair of raw hem black washed jeans to my look. These are an old pair by Rachell Parcell, and they are no longer available online. But, black washed jeans are trendy, so I shouldn’t have any trouble finding you a few to look at. I have several pairs myself, so I’ll see if the ones that I currently have are still in stock.
I have been searching for a crossbody handbag that is the perfect size. I think that this one is close, but I am still not sure. I love the bag’s color, and I like the shape, but I am not sure that it is wide enough to hold all of my items. This leather crossbody handbag is by Fossil, and it comes in several other colors.
Most of the time, when I wear black, I will wear silver-tone jewelry. Buy, I decided to wear the warmer tones of gold to match with the brown crossbody handbag. I love the Karina earrings and their boho vibe. These are a pair that Kendra Scott brought out of the design vault for a limited time. You see me wear my gold vermeil cross necklace all of the time. I hardly ever take it off, and I’ll put it right back on as soon as I can. You have to buy the chain and then add the gold vermeil cross to create the look. When I was dressing, I wasn’t sure if the cross necklace would be long enough to show up against the sweater, so I also added the Rue long necklace to my look. And the final piece of jewelry is the Ryder multi-chain magnetic bracelet, which is still out of stock.
Aerosoles shoes are always comfortable, and these are no different. I am so thrilled to see brands finally starting to make fashionable flats for women, so now you have no excuse for not wearing cute shoes. Lol! These suede loafers are a gorgeous taupe color, which means that they will go with almost anything. I am wearing my usual size 9, so these run true to size.
BTW, I forgot to mention the denim/chambray button-up shirt that I have on. This is one from J. Crew Factory, and I love the well worn looking color. I am wearing a medium, but I think that I’ll send it back for a large since it is a teensy-bit tight.
Y’all, I knew that the Black Friday Sales would start early this year, and Walmart is starting one TODAY!!! This sales event will start at 7:00 pm EST and go through the 8th. Worked our local polling place yesterday and it was a long day… and looks like a long week! A cup of coffee and your post is how I start my day. Love your blog, style and inspirational posts. Of course can’t forget the funny Joe stories. I have a bunch of funny Don(my hubby) stories. So many in fact that when my granddaughter comes over the first thing she asks “ do you have any Papa stories today?” lol
You are appreciated!!!
Lol! Maybe Joe and Don should start their own blog. Lol! It is almost guaranteed to be a hit!
Love your posts. Don’t always comment here but do on Facebook. You are the most upbeat and positive blogger I follow, and your clothes are always right on point with what I would wear except for the high heels occasionally.
Cheryl, this comment made me smile from ear to ear.
You hit it again, this outfit is right down my alley. I would have to change up the jeans though, not my thing! Ha. Seems I’m on a Tylenol diet these last days. My latest partial knee replacement (2017) is working loose, so full replacement is now on radar. Ugh! So, I will be rehabbing at your house enjoying all your fashions first hand! Tee hee
Oh no!!! I am so sorry, Ginger. I sure hope that you have a speedy recovery.
I like the classic look of your outfit! Glad to hear about the Aerosoles! Those shoes are super cute and I have always enjoyed Aerosoles when I can find stylish options!! And yes, thankfully the tv, phone, and hopefully social media will be free of the annoying political banter!!😉Read a great post yesterday reminding us that no matter the election outcomes, we have the responsibility to pray for all of our leaders.
I totally agree that we need to pray for all of our leaders. I would never want their jobs, and you can never make everyone happy.
I Like your look today. It would be perfect for me too since I am always cold and wear more layers than most people. Thanks for your blog. I really enjoy reading it every day. I look forward to it.
I am always cold also! I feel your pain.
Hi Tania, I enjoy your blog and love your outfits. I may twick mine occasionally as I dont do too many pullovers as HOTFLASHES can result. I can add a cardigan instead and a scarf if needed. Glad to see women of mature ages can still be stylish! We are not the past Grandmas but Glam mas instead. Have a great day!
My sister tells me that she has to tweak her looks too. Darn flashes.
You look nice! I never thought I would like a crossbody bag but was surprised at how practical they are. Love the color of that one and Fossil bags are wonderfully made. Is it easy to get into? Some purses are a good size but their zippers aren’t wide enough so it’s hard to get in the bag. Also for a smaller purse it seems if the leather is softer it also makes it easier. I need to check out this bag.
I never thought that I would like a crossbody either. I actually prefer handbags without a zipper because they scratch my hand when I reach inside them.
Thanks for all your posts. I get so many wonderful outfit ideas from you. Bless you and your family.
Yay! Lynne, I am so glad that you are able to make my suggestions work for you.
Love this look! Easy yet classy!
Thanks for the comment, Ann.
Love your blog and your personal style!!!! The way you write you make your readers feel they’re you best buds!!! You are welcoming, warm, and AWESOME 😎
I do feel like I am friends with all of you on here.
