WHAT TO WEAR FOR AN EVERYDAY OUTFIT IN THE FALL
Well, it is finally in the books. Everything about 2020 has been different, and that includes our Presidential election. I am writing this on Tuesday night before the polls start to close, so I don’t know how things are going. Truth be told, by the time you are reading this on Wednesday, we probably still won’t have a concrete idea of who will be our next President. I voted, and that is all that I could do, now we wait to see what the future will bring.
I am not political, so I don’t want to turn this into a post about politics. I simply wanted to observe yet another obstacle that this year has thrown at everyone. Everyone has been affected in some way by this pandemic. I hope that whoever was/is elected President will heal our nation from this virus that is spread by air and the one that is spread by hate. But, for now, we can all say a quick prayer of thanks that the ads, calls, and surveys are hopefully over!!! I really felt sorry for any of you who lived in a swing state since I am sure that you were inundated with campaigns on both sides. Now you can start watching television and answering the phone again. I’m sure that the people who are constantly calling about “your extended warranty” are relieved that the phone lines are no longer congested. Lol!
I love a Pointelle sweater, and I think this black one is so pretty with the denim shirt underneath it. I love how the denim shows through the Pointelle pattern. I think this pattern is feminine and graceful. I’ve always loved a cable-knit sweater, and the Pointelle pattern adds another element to the look. This black pull-on sweater has a large band at the hem, and there are cute buttons on the shoulders. I am wearing a size large, and it fits great. I ordered the larger size since I knew that I would always be wearing a shirt or turtleneck under the sweater. The sweater also comes in camel, so hopefully, one of these colors will work for you.
I added a pair of raw hem black washed jeans to my look. These are an old pair by Rachell Parcell, and they are no longer available online. But, black washed jeans are trendy, so I shouldn’t have any trouble finding you a few to look at. I have several pairs myself, so I’ll see if the ones that I currently have are still in stock.
I have been searching for a crossbody handbag that is the perfect size. I think that this one is close, but I am still not sure. I love the bag’s color, and I like the shape, but I am not sure that it is wide enough to hold all of my items. This leather crossbody handbag is by Fossil, and it comes in several other colors.
Most of the time, when I wear black, I will wear silver-tone jewelry. Buy, I decided to wear the warmer tones of gold to match with the brown crossbody handbag. I love the Karina earrings and their boho vibe. These are a pair that Kendra Scott brought out of the design vault for a limited time. You see me wear my gold vermeil cross necklace all of the time. I hardly ever take it off, and I’ll put it right back on as soon as I can. You have to buy the chain and then add the gold vermeil cross to create the look. When I was dressing, I wasn’t sure if the cross necklace would be long enough to show up against the sweater, so I also added the Rue long necklace to my look. And the final piece of jewelry is the Ryder multi-chain magnetic bracelet, which is still out of stock.
Aerosoles shoes are always comfortable, and these are no different. I am so thrilled to see brands finally starting to make fashionable flats for women, so now you have no excuse for not wearing cute shoes. Lol! These suede loafers are a gorgeous taupe color, which means that they will go with almost anything. I am wearing my usual size 9, so these run true to size.
BTW, I forgot to mention the denim/chambray button-up shirt that I have on. This is one from J. Crew Factory, and I love the well worn looking color. I am wearing a medium, but I think that I’ll send it back for a large since it is a teensy-bit tight.
Y’all, I knew that the Black Friday Sales would start early this year, and Walmart is starting one TODAY!!! This sales event will start at 7:00 pm EST and go through the 8th. I just love all of your outfits. I have been in such a rut lately but finding your blog has really helped. Thank you for the inspiration. Happy New Year!
I am so happy that you are enjoying the blog. #nomorerut.
Hi Tania! I love your blog and get your email every day. My Pinterest fashion board has lots of your pics on it 😊 I really like this casual outfit. Been seeing similar on Pinterest with camel sweater & chambray shirt, but the black with the blue showing through gives a great different look. Keep up the good work!
I love how the blue helps show the Pointelle pattern which you might not have noticed otherwise.
Oh yeah, my kinda outfit! I can dress casually for work and I like to look pulled together so this outfit is perfect. Thanks!!
I never thought a denim shirt would look great underneath the black knit sweater. Fabulous outfit. Good bless!
I’m glad that you liked the look.
I just love the outfits you style and how you include items from less expensive stores … more fitting to my retirement income. I look so forward to the spiritual messages and you have such a beautiful way of communicating…
Blessings!!
This is the way that I shop. I buy both luxury and inexpensive.
Just wanted to tell you that I enjoy checking out what you’re wearing on Instagram. It’s really nice to see other women over 50 wearing stylish outfits that don’t break the bank and actually look like something I could see myself wearing. At 5-11, that’s an accomplishment sometimes. So keep up the good work! I’m quietly watching, lol.
My daughter is also 5’11”, so I understand how hard it is to find clothing that fits and looks good on your body type.
Such a cute look! I look up the sweater and it is $40.00! More than I usually spend on a sweater. I’m gonna look for a cheaper one. But love the look with the shirt underneath.
Cindy, just keep watching. I’m sure that I’ll show something you like that is budget friendly soon.
I have really enjoyed seeing your blog evolve over the past few months. You are doing a great job! love your use of color and your style! I can tell that you put a lot of work into your posts and it is now one of my favorite “blog stops” in the morning. (thanks for posting daily, I like that too!)
Kathy, this is so sweet. Thanks so much for commenting.
I apologize for not writing much lately! I’ve been having my bathroom remodeled as well as having to get a new refrigerator which took many hrs searching on line as well as several trips out of town to find one. Then when it was delivered it wasn’t working properly so that took hrs on the phone w various people! Ugh! I like your out today as well as all the styles yesterday. Especially the carmel colored corderoy leggings and beautiful leaf sweater!! We love you, Tania! Yes the election is frustrating!
Charlcy, you are always so busy. I love watching your projects on Facebook.
I have been with you from the beginning.I read your post every day without fail. I tried a couple of other blogs you recommended and was very disappointed.I compared those blogs to yours and found them lacking. You have a great personality and are very stylish. I love your family stories and especially your Sunday posts. I have also purchased a lot of the outfits and skincare. I’m sure the blog is a lot of work and expensive however I’m sure you considered this before you started it. Have a blessed day!
I can’t thank you enough for your comment. There aren’t many who have been with me through thick and thin. Lol! When it comes to the work and expense of a blog…I had NO IDEA. Lol!
