What a glorious day for a lunch date with a new friend. Today, I’m going to tour a fantastic facility whose mission is nourishing neighbors, engaging community partners, and developing solutions to address food insecurity. I’ve seen this program in action, and I want to learn more about it and see how I can help.

You know I’m thinking about what I should wear to see their operation and go to lunch. Lol! So, I have two outfits to choose from, and I want to hear your input. The first outfit is this gorgeous Blue Floral Fit and Flare Dress from Kohl’s. I love the colors of this dress; they are so pretty and summery. A dress is what I would typically choose for a brunch or lunch date, but I’m not sure that would be the best choice for today.

This is a cotton dress, so it is machine washable. The dress is sleeveless, but I could easily add a cardigan to keep me warm, and I’ll link to a few that I think would work below. I love the fit and flare fit, but I ordered this dress in a large, and it is too big for me. A medium would have fit much better, so if I decide on this dress, I’ll have to exchange it before my meeting.

The TOMS Classic Wedge Sandal in Natural looks great with a dress. I love wedge shoes for Spring and Summer, and the cork sole is my favorite. This natural color can go with anything, and I wear wedge shoes with jeans and shorts, not just with dresses. These run TTS, I’m wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great.

I love the overall look of this outfit, and the dress is on sale, so this is a strong contender.

I like this outfit also, especially since it is a little less dressy. I’m pretty sure that the facility will be very casual when it comes to dressing attire, so maybe this outfit would blend in better.

I must be in a blue mood because I picked this Blue Floral Button Front Puff Sleeve Top as my other choice. The colors are soft and muted in this top, and I love the soft look. The top has 3/4 sleeves that have poof, and they are a nice detail to the top. I think the top is oversized, I’m wearing a small, and it fits me great.

Here is a look at the top from the side, and you can see that the hem is longer in the back than on the sides. The White Ruched Crossbody Handbag looks perfect with both outfits. I love the camera-size bag and the quilted front. This bag is ideal for carrying your keys, phone, and wallet while you are running errands, and the crossbody strap will keep your bag secure.

These High-Waisted White Button Front Skinny Jeans have some distressing but no holes. This gives the jeans a modern touch without being too young looking. These jeans have a 27″ inseam, but I wanted them to be a tad bit shorter, so I added a cuff to them. These might run a little small, I’m wearing a 10, which fits great, but lately, I’ve been wearing an 8.

I’ll link a couple of other jeans below that don’t have distressing and are a zip fly.

So, which outfit do you think I should wear; the Blue Floral Fit and Flare Dress or the Blue Floral Button Front Top and High-Waisted White Button Jeans?

  1. Theresa Quinn says:

You look terrific in both but I’m partial to the blouse and jeans. A great look for a casual lunch. Great fit on you too.

  2. Doreen A. Bednarski says:

This dress is so pretty and really is great on you. How do you tie the belt like that?

  3. Definitely the jeans and blouse so you blend into your environment. If you want to be a tad dresser then white crop or ankle pants would work.

  4. Roni Snow says:

I like both but in my opinion, the second outfit fits the occasion better. You may want to keep the larger size in the dress – cotton always shrinks.

  5. DEANNE HOPE says:

i LOVE THE BLOUSE AND JEANS! YOU LOOK GREAT!!! THOSE WHITE PANTS!!!! THEY LOOK AWESOME ON YOU.

  6. OF COURSE, both outfits look fantastic on you. That being said, my vote is DEFINITELY the pants & blouse! VERY modern & chic, perfect for lunch, tour, & visit in 2022! 🙂 BLESSINGS!

  7. I love the floral top and white jeans.

  8. I would wear neither of them. the dress makes the outfit “home look” and the blouse “helps” to underline the age

  9. Top and pants. Keep it casual, but stylish. Looks great.

  10. Say yes to the dress!

  11. Sue Quinn says:

They are both cute, but I would go for the dress. It’s casual, but not.

  12. Janus Emory says:

OK! I would wear the dress to a meeting or place I’ve never been. Like Marcia says, you can’t go wrong. The blouse is beautiful, but I don’t know if I would wear white if I don’t know what I am walking into. Also, as Cathy said, take away the buttons on the pants.

  13. Personally, I’d go with the dress! Any lunch opportunity is a time to “dress” up!
Both outfits are cute, but I fall in the not liking distressed jeans category, for any occasion.

  14. You look great in both. I think I like the second choice the best.

  15. Janet E DeJong says:

My vote is for the pants and blouse. It looks contemporary yet well-dressed with the shoes and handbag.

  16. Blouse and jeans however I would swap the jeans for a clean line without the buttons. To me the button front is a distraction with the soft look of the blouse.

  17. Tania, you look great in both. But I vote for the dress. I was taught that if you don’t know what to wear to an occasion, take it up a notch and you’ll never go wrong.

  18. I love the dress and I think it would be appropriate for both a casual or smartish luncheon. You look awesome in both choices.

  19. Christal Yowell says:

Love both options, probably go with pants given the nature of facility. I love the wedges!! Perfect for both

  20. Jan Rayner says:

Tania, you look gorgeous as always in both, but I love the blouse and jeans the most. This outfit seems to be more figure flattering as well as more casual but still well put-together. Love it!

  21. Debbie Heineman says:

I love the skinny jeans!! Much younger looking outfit. Wear more pants that are tighter fitting, they make you look great. The baggier pants are not flattering and do not fit your younger style

  22. I love the dress, but if the facility is casual, probably the jeans & floral top-both outfits look great on you!

  23. I meant to ask….I didn’t see any sweaters for the dress linked. I love cardigans and would love to see some of your recommendations!

    1. Shelley, I’m not sure why the link didn’t work, but I went in and added a new one and it should work now.

  24. Definitely the jeans and top. Both are cute, but this outfit seems more fitting. Plus, you don’t have to return it!

  25. Shelley Bronaugh says:

I love the dress but I think I’d go with the jeans and blouse. You look fabulous in both though so you can’t go wrong with either!

  26. Grandma Judy says:

Love the dress but as long as the company is casual it would probably be best to go with the jeans and blouse. If it is hot you could also switch out the jeans for linen pants.

    1. I’m thinking it will be casual, so I’ll probably go with pants, but I do love the dress.

  27. Definitely the dress as you are going to lunch. Looks great on you, smart but in a casual way. And as it is warming up you will be more comfortable than in jeans. Oh, and of course, my pet comment, a little varnish on bare toenails!!!!!

    1. Lol! I’m going to show this to my daughter. I told her yesterday that I HAD to make time for a manicure and pedicure.
