Am I the only one who has a day filled with lots of little tasks, and nothing seems to get done? I have spent the entire day trying to update some things on the blog, and, after working all day long, I ended up scraping the whole thing and going back to what I already had. UGH! I hate HTML codes, widgets, and anything that is technical and requires me to finagle with the blog code. I am so afraid that I will “break” the blog, but I don’t have an IT person on my payroll. I don’t even HAVE a payroll. Lol!

Any time you see new features or changes in the blog, I have to figure out how to make them happen. Most of the time, I can YouTube and Google my way through the maze, but there are times when I throw up my hands and cry, UNCLE. For those of you who might not be familiar with the term “uncle,” it means that “I give” or “you win.” In this case, I give up until I have more time to devote to figuring out the problem. But, if you ever see things moving around on the blog, know that it is me trying to upgrade and make your experience on my blog as good as it can be.

I resisted the temptation to have a glass of wine while working on the technical jargon, but I sure could have used a glass bottle to settle my nerves. Lol! I came across this Wine Tee a couple of weeks ago, and it seemed like the perfect weekend t-shirt. I think that this tee would also make a great Christmas gift for the wine lover in your life. The tee and a bottle of wine would make the recipient very happy. I am wearing a large, and it fits me great! Here are some other graphic tees for you to look at.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing black skinny jeans with slight distressing

You’ve probably seen me wear these black, slightly distressed, skinny jeans before. One of the reasons I love these jeans so much is that they are different from the 34 (exaggerated number) other black jeans that I own. The one small slit at the knee, and the raw hem, give the jeans just a tiny bit of distressing, and that is all that I need. I am wearing a size 31 in these, and normally I wear a size 30 in jeans. But, I felt like the 30s were too tight around the waist, so I sized up one size. These jeans are very high-waisted with an 11″ rise, so consider that when you place an order. If you are not a fan of distressed jeans, here are a few more that you might consider.

The wine-colored (appropriate, don’t you think?) was an old one that I’ve had for a long time. I love wearing this burgundy color in the fall, and I usually have cardigans in different lengths in this color. It was a gorgeous sunny day when I took these photos, but there was a chill in the air. Adding a cardigan is great for warmth, and it also creates a slimming silhouette.

The best costume I’ve ever seen was actually the friend of a friend years ago. We attended what was then called the Boo Bash in KCMO, put on I believe by the Art Institute. Anyway, this person went as a “flasher” complete with the trenchcoat, dorky socks and loafers. What set the costume apart was the um…”adornment” inside the coat. His girlfriend created a certain male part out of a leg of pantyhose and stuffing and connected it to his boxers and then wired it to the inside buttons of the coat so it “rose” to the occasion. SOOO inappropriate in today’s world, but this was 30 years ago. It got great reactions even from the off duty police officer working security AND he won second prize in the costume contest.

  5. My favorite was Bride of Frankenstein, then someone told me they liked my Geisha costume. WOW that would be one scary Geisha Girl!

  6. I retired from the USPS after being a mail carrier for 32 years. About 25 years ago my son dressed up as a “mailman”. Looked super cute!

Great outfit. I just love your smile that makes the outfit sparkle.
My favorite Halloween outfit memory was when my family all dressed up together. It started because my kids were playing video games for first time and my husband and I played too to monitor what was going on. We were all in the same clan; a game called “clash of clans”. We all Picked a character from the game. I still remember shopping at second hand stores for items for the outfits. My husband even grew in facial hair for the event.

  8. Michelle D says:

I work at an elementary school and the kids love wearing their costumes to school. One of the kids wore a inflatable sumo wrestler costume this year and it was hilarious to watch him make his way down the halls.

  9. Hi Tania! I am new to your blog, and I am so happy I found you! Your “real-ness”, great fashion for those of us over 50, and most of all, your love of our Lord, make me look forward to your posts each day! My favorite costumes were when I (a kindergarten teacher) and my daughter (when she was 4 – now 24!) wore matching M&M costumes. It is a sweet memory for me!

  10. Sue Epling says:

Very cute weekend outfit! My favorite costume was the year my husband and I dressed as a couple, reversed. I was the man complete with bushy eyebrows and a goatee. He was a very large “lady” and his face looked just like his sister!! Still makes me laugh just writing this 😁

  11. Diane Schexnyder says:

I love your t-shirt…and blog! I’m with you about technical computer ‘stuff’, but keep up the good work! My favorite Halloween costume was a Gandolf the Grey wizard robe and hat I made for my 6’3″ son. He still has it!

  12. My husband (think 6’4”) with moustache….dressed in an authentic belly dancer outfit..freaked out all out his buddies cause they didn’t know it was him with the veil….and he kept playing up to them….best costume EVER!!!!!!

  13. My best costume was going with 2 other friends dressed up as the Three Blind Mice.

  14. I love your outfit today! My favorite costume was when my husband and I were a cave woman and caveman. I made the costumes out of cheetah material and our necklaces were made out of dried chicken bones. We were a hit of the party back in the 90’s 🎃

  15. My favorite costume was my daughter who was 10 months at the time and I made her an egg that was cracked open. This year my Westie went as a wee Irish lass!

My daughter dressed up as Cindy Lauper for a Halloween Party. I would send a photo if I knew how. She had lavender strands in her hair. She had boots with striped socks, a crinoline dress and black see thru gloves. Her hair was kind of standing out like Cindy Lauper wore her’s in the early 2000’s.

  17. Tisha Johnston says:

Loved when my kids were little and I would make their costumes. Made my daughter a shimmery mermaid costume once, she was adorable!

  21. I thought this was the cutest costume my great niece, a farm girl, wore for her first Halloween. Can’t see how to attach photo, but she was a chicken and the picture is of her “nesting”

    Love today’s outfit!

  22. I couldn’t figure out how to post picture but my favorite Halloween costume was my sons when he was 4. I made this HUGE pumpkin for him to wear and it had a Velcro crotch. It was stuffed with the white packing peanuts. Anyway, the Velcro must have had some gaps because when he would walk up a sidewalk he was he was leaving a trail of “peanut droppings” along the way!

  23. Where did you find the cardigan with pockets! I love them too but need those pockets.

  24. Lisa Orris says:

Trying to post a pic of my youngest son, Jonathan, from Halloween 2016. He dressed up as Donald Trump that election year, and his costume was a huge hit! I’m attaching a link to the pic, as I couldn’t figure how to load it in the comments section. Hope you can see it! Happy Halloween!

My husband purchased a red Star Trek shirt and wore black slacks and black shoes. He is a retired Ga Trooper and a Star Trek fan. He looked great.

  37. Tania, where did you get your shoes?
I’m new to your blog and I am so thankful for it! I feel that somehow, over the years, I’ve lost my flair for fashion. Yours is tasteful, practical, and yet beautiful! What a blessing!
I have four sons so lots of funny costumes over the years. One year, two of my boys went as Calvin and Hobbes. Only their teachers knew who they were! 😂

  38. Jane Massengill says:

Favorite Halloween costume was when my husband, an OB/ GYN, (Dr Massengill), dressed up like a Massengill douche bottle. (He was a medical student at the time). I have a picture but don’t see where to add it.
