WHAT STYLE SHORTS DO YOU LOVE WEARING IN THE SUMMER

 

I am feeling bright, sunny, and cheerful on this first day of July! July means that we are starting on the second half of the year, and so far, 2021 hasn’t been all bad. It got off to a rocky start, but it has rebounded nicely, and the weather has been gorgeous lately. Since it has been in the 90s almost every day, shorts have been what I’ve been wearing non-stop.

 

 

I have several 5″ shorts that I wear, and one pair that Joe calls my Daisy Dukes that are fringed and distressed. Lol! They are only $18.00, and I am thinking about buying another pair. One for when I wear this pair out. Lol!!!

The Dasiy Dukes is my casual pair of shorts and what I would wear at a BBQ or a pool party. I would add a cute graphic tee a pair of flip flops or sneakers. But, there are times when I want a pair of shorts that look nice, and for those times, I usually pick a pair of Bermuda shorts.

 

 

I love wearing a shorter top with Bermuda Shorts. When I wear a cropped top, half-tucked top, or a shorter top like this front-tie floral print top, it makes my legs look longer. If the top were longer, my torso would look long, and my legs would look shorter.

This style of top is one that I think flatters my body. I love a v-neckline, and I will choose it over all other styles. A tie-front style helps to create a waist for me by drawing your eye to the center of my body. It also helps to hide my lumps and bumps, and I especially love that feature.

 

 

This top has another feature that I love, the high-low look. Sometimes a front-tie top will be short in the back also, but this one covers my rear. The top hugs your hips as it gets lower and lower, and this is a flattering look for me that helps me appear thinner! YAY! I love clothing that makes me “appear” thinner. Lol! I am wearing a size 1 in the top, and the fit is spot on.

 

 

I wanted to wear a neutral-colored shoe to help elongate my legs. Also, I wanted to wear a wedge shoe with a heel to give me even more height and create the illusion of mile-long legs. These canvas espadrilles are a pair of shoes that I can wear with almost anything. I love the sisal heel and sole, plus the bottom of the shoe even has the roping.

These shoes come in a couple of other colors, including navy, black, and a two-tone version. They seem to run true to size since I am wearing my usual size 9.

 

 

The So Slimming Bermuda Shorts are 10″ long. I think the slimmer legs of these shorts are much more flattering on me than wide-leg shorts. You can wear a tee with these shorts if you want, but these shorts are great for a dressier look. Adding a blazer to Bermuda shorts is a fantastic dressy/casual look. I am wearing a size 1 in the shorts, and they are the perfect size for me.
