WHAT IS THE HOTTEST SPRING TREND
BTW, today is Joe’s birthday!!! Say a small prayer for me since it is “his” day. He actually said he didn’t want anything for his birthday and even though I did some snooping on his computer I couldn’t find anything that he was looking at. He just bought a brand new set of golf clubs so I guess that counts as his present.
Joe actually has a board meeting that he has to go to tonight. It is in the neighboring county and he wouldn’t be home until around 9:00 pm. I told him that I would go with him to his meeting and that I would take my laptop and sit out in the lobby and do my blog post. After the meeting is over we plan on going out to eat at a restaurant that is in a barn and has great steaks and barbeque. He drives me crazy but I can’t imagine my life without him. He sure makes it interesting, that’s for sure. Lol!
Today I decided to take a couple of items from my closet that had been in there for years and show you how to mix them with some trendy items that are going to be hot for the spring and summer season. My Oh La La graphic sweater and sleeveless zip-up vest are both items that I bought from Old Navy. These have both been worn many times and are nothing special on their own. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are too old to wear graphic sweaters, that is just plain hogwash! You can wear anything you want, you just need to “own” it.
Silver is the jewelry of choice since I am all in gray. I chose the edgiest silver jewelry that I had. The Sam earrings and the Samson silver buckle bracelet are both on the trendy/edgy side. I love how the earrings dangle and move as you walk. The bracelet is adjustable up to 7.5″ and it has enough stretch in it that you can slide it on and off without undoing the buckle. 
Camo is HOT this year! You will find it in all different styles, colors, and on shirts, hats, vest, scarves, etc. If you want to show that you follow fashion, if just a tiny bit, then you need to buy “something” in camo. Camo is not just for hunting anymore. Lol! This pair of twill charcoal camo pants are by Wit and Wisdom and they fit me perfectly. This is my normal size 10 so these fit true to size. I love the added “unique” detail of the stars, they add a fashionable touch to a manly print. Honestly, when I saw these pants I said, “those are going back” but guess what? I am keeping them!!! They fit like a dream, they are cuter than I ever thought they would be, and they are so on fire right now with the world of fashion. They are not cheap but they are not expensive either. Hahaha! This pair was in my most recent Trunk Club shipment. I can honestly say that I am truly enjoying these shipments. You don’t have to get your shipments as often as I get mine, but since I don’t have a lot of shopping opportunities close by, this has really been great for me.
Here is the back view of the vest. It is longer in the back than it is in the front which is fantastic for a little booty coverage. Ain’t nobody wanting to see that. Lol! A vest can add warmth without making you too hot. It is a fashion statement that is useful, not just cute.
BTW, I would appreciate it if everyone left some kind of message for Joe’s birthday!!! I will LOVE reading them all to him. He loves it when I tell him things you gurl’s have commented. Especially the ones from the other day on this post. Hahahaha!!!

Happy Birthday Joe…what a sweet wife you have that she is going to ride along and “work” while she waits to celebrate with you. The barn restaurant sounds neat..better ask if they sing happy birthday or give a treat for birthdays ;). I love this outfit and I am one that wears very few graphic tee’s or sweaters since I’m 62 and always feels like that is for “older” women like my mom…LOL. But gosh, you pull it off so well so that shows how much I know about fashion…nothing! Enjoy your evening out.
