Weekend casual.
Weekend casual style is a little more laid back, and a little more relaxed, at least when it comes to fashion. Most of my weekends are filled with woman’s club work, family, church, and all kinds of little pop-up, last-minute activities.
I love the color of this sweater. It is a really pale blue, but not a spring/summer type pastel. This goes more toward the steel-blue of fall/winter. It is soft, soft, soft. I picked this up at a thrift store. Yes, I said a thrift store! I love going to thrift stores, yard sales, and goodwill stores. I am always on the lookout for vintage items, but I love getting a bargain along the way. This sweater is Ann Taylor and still had the tags attached. It was $2.00. Yep, I’ll take it.
Here is a picture from the side, I wanted you to see how it is longer in the back. I really love shirts that are a little longer, I like a little extra coverage. The jeans were an even better bargain. I bought 2 pair of jeans, 1 pair of corduroy pants, and a denim shirt from Old Navy and I paid $7.83. I found them on sale, a 30% code on top of that, and I had $80.00 in reward points. I only paid the $7.83 because I chose to upgrade the shipping.
These boots are so old, I have no idea where or when I bought them. Here is a great pair. I read that riding boots are going out of style, but I like them, so tough.
This scarf is 10-15 years old. An employee, and friend, went to England one summer and bought this for me. I wear it a lot, the colors are fabulous. I plan on braving the horrible weather we are having this weekend and going to a street festival. If it doesn’t flood the event out, look forward to seeing some of my finds next week.
Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment.
I love your look and think we could have been separated at birth because I dress very much like you and I am in Australia. We are in the middle of Winter so I also add a long vest or if in and out of the car all
day I wear a jacket.
I love to put outfits together and have a great time in Thrift Shops, I hunt around for items with glass beads on them because I love to embellish up a jacket
either on the collar or sleeves. My taste is champagne but with a Diet Coke budget.
You’re a girl after my own heart with the bargain shopping. The better the deal the more I like the piece. I also love that you mange to look adorable at 50. At 52 I sometimes get discouraged trying to pull my look together. Thanks for the positive example. FYI, I use a second hand online store, Threadup. The best bit is I send them my clothes when I’m tired of something. I get store credit and clean my closet out at the same time.
Absolutely love your style. oope to you don’t mind that I borrowed it and others.
Hello, I just found you site and have liked it. I’m wondering what jeans are those from Old Navy? I have recently lost over 40lbs and being over 50 not sure what to buy for jeans? I don’t want to try and look like a teenager nor an old lady! Lol
Carol, I think those were the Rockstar High Rise jeans. I really like them, and wear them a lot. Here is the link to Old Navy. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=85732&vid=1&pid=816023002
Love your casual outfit, looks really cute and put together. Love to shop for bargains! Glad to see someone admit to going thrifting. I found a Coach bag and a Michael Kors bag at the goodwill! Both were barely used. I shop for everyone in my family. They are constantly amazed at what I find.
Finding great items at a thrift store makes the item that much more special. We actually had to work at finding it, and the timing has to be just right. Saving a ton of money, does’t hurt either. Lol
