WEARING SHORTS WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40
Y’all, I can’t wait for tomorrow to get here. Joe’s Father’s Day gift came in the mail yesterday, and it is killing me not to give it to him. If you missed what his gift is going to be, then be sure to read this post. I am busy trying to figure out a way that I can video his reaction to the gift without him knowing. If he sees me taking a video, then he will know that something is up. Lol!
I have had an online FaceBook sale this past week to try and clean my closets, beds, chairs, floors, etc., from all of the things that I loved once, but no longer need. That has been quite an undertaking. Each night I am hurrying home and taking pictures of all the items that I am posting that night. Then I write and schedule the posts to go “live” at 8:00 pm EST each night. Next is compiling the list of sold items, and messaging the winners’ payment instructions. Finally, I put the things that need to be shipped in poly packages and address them to be mailed the next day. Some of the items that sold earlier in the week have already reached their new owners, and I am thrilled that everyone seems to be loving their items. I still have lots to add next week, so if you want to be in that group, request permission here.
The Bobeau top that I bought last year in Alaska when I was visiting my daughter is a beautiful print, and I bet that most of you could find something in your closet similar. This top is by Bobeau, and it has a deep v-neck and is sleeveless. I love a v-neck because it is a flattering look since it elongates your neck. I like sleeveless tops because they are so versatile. You can wear them alone, with a jacket or a cardigan, or you can wear them with something underneath it. It is harder with a top like this to wear something underneath, but it is possible.
I am wearing the Arabella necklace. It is a marbled acrylic necklace that is lightweight and is 17.5″ to 20.75″ long. The matching dangle earrings are called the Thaisha. I wore this in yesterday’s post also, so you can see how versatile this set can be. The bracelets are part of the Stacia bracelet set that is FINALLY back in stock. Hurry if you want this or the Rachel set before they sell out again.
I love these shoes, but not necessarily with this outfit. I see others wearing these type of shoe with shorts, but I am still not sold on this look on me. These Clark shoes are incredibly comfortable, and they felt good to wear all day long. Here is the link to the sand shoes, and they come in a lot of other colors too.
How do you like my deep teal shorts? I just bought this pair the other day, and I loved the color and the 6″ length. These shorts are 100% twill cotton, and they have slash pockets. They come in seven other colors, so you can get a couple of pairs since they are only 19.99. Here is the link to the shorts. BTW, I was a little amused yesterday at some of the comments that were left on my post with the distressed jeans. It is funny how some thought that the distressed jeans showed too much skin, but wearing these shorts are okay. Lol! Wearing shorts shows way more skin; it isn’t the skin that is the issue; it is the way that the skin is revealed.
I do encourage you to please sign up for my daily emails so that you can click on the link and it will take you straight to the post. No more having to remember to type in the name, etc.

Both the shorts and the too are great. Over 60 and I still wear shorts, my motto is wear what makes you feel comfortable. Being a caravanners we take casual holidays and (when our weather allows) I wear shorts and a t. The length is important as a shorter short above the knee makes the leg look longer but if I want a dresser look I go for a longer length but wear a heel. Holiday nearly over here in the south of France so hop I get chance to wear shorts when home in the UK.

Tania, I’m having trouble joining your Facebook sale. Could you add me ?
I just had to hit the approve button. You are in the group now.
Love this outfit and I absolutely loved the distressed jeans outfit too. I’m 54 and wear those jeans too. Keep rocking them sister!
Connie, I am glad to hear that I am not the only one. Lol!
i loved your look yesterday! And I really like the shoes you’re wearing today with the shorts. I’m so glad I came across your blog a few months ago. I look forward to reading it every morning.
It is great to hear that you are enjoying the blog! Thanks so much for following.
I’m a day late but I do have something to say about the distressed jeans. For me, it’s a generational thing. I never wore pants with holes in them as a child and I patched all the holes in my four boys jeans. And there were a lot of them. For us it was a matter of money and lack of pride. So I haven’t fully embraced the distressed look yet.
Beverly, I can understand that objection. That is a mindset issue, not an aesthetic issue.
I am so with you Beverly. When I see distressed jeans all I can think of is days when things weren’t so good. Holes in your pants were an embarrassment. True it’s a generational thing. So, I am not on board with this fashion statement. Haha, it’s like black and white pictures. It was so exciting when you could buy color film. Now, they love the black and whites. Go figure.
I love how fashion can make you think and feel emotions. It is not only about covering our bodies.
We have shorts as our theme for The Good Buy Good-Bye Book in July! Today we have published jumpsuits! Hope you like to join us next month!
I’ll have to check that out, Nancy. It sounds like fun.
