Before I get to the fashion part of the blog, I thought I’d take a moment for the family part. (Do y’all get sick of me talking about my crazy family? What can I say, they give me a ton of material. lol)

My sister, the author, (see her book in the sidebar!) posted on Facebook about her short-story contest for kids and I wanted to give her a shout-out. She claims she knew she wanted to be an author way back in first grade, and now she tries hard to encourage young wanna-be writers.

The contest ends September 30th, so if you know of anyone in the age range, send them to her website for details!

You can check it out on Amazon and even pre-order it if you want.  50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING A GRAPHIC T-SHIRT OVER 40 This t-shirt went with me to Florida when I went to the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam to see Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean. I think this t-shirt is super cute and I love it with the white jeans. HOWEVER, it did not make it to any of the shows for a very good reason. This was an outdoor concert which was held in a huge field. It came a monsoon, a torrential downpour, the first show and by the time we were ready to leave there was mud everywhere. Some women had worn high heels and fancy shoes and the only way they could protect them was by wearing plastic grocery bags over their shoes. There was no way that I was going to wear white jeans to a mud pit. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING A GRAPHIC T-SHIRT OVER 40 As I was putting my lipstick on I dropped the applicator and got lip stain on my chest. I had to use makeup remover and scrub to get it off so that is why my chest is red. Lol! I thought about fixing it with photoshop but I kind of thought it was funny. Anyway, I didn’t put on a necklace but I did put on these extra cute leather Kalani maroon earrings. These earrings are real statement earrings but they are light as a feather.  50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING A GRAPHIC T-SHIRT OVER 40 The Nona bracelet on the right is a wide leather cuff that comes with your monogram. It looks dark brown in the catalog but it is really a red/brown color. It is adjustable up to 8 inches. The black cuff is a special Pippa and is no longer available. The brown Pippa, however, is still available. I also have on my Key To Life Alex and Ani bracelet like the one I gave away last month.  50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING A GRAPHIC T-SHIRT OVER 40 Leopard print shoes are great for updating a look. They are so in style that they take the simplest outfit and make it fashionable. This pair is from Isaac Mizrahi and I have had them for several years. I recently ordered my a pair of Leopard ankle boots and I hope they fit and are as cute as they look online. I’ll let you know when I get them.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING A GRAPHIC T-SHIRT OVER 40You know how I feel about white jeans! They are a staple that should be in every wardrobe. You can wear them all season long, the taboo of wearing them after Labor Day is no longer a thing. In fact, it is quite fashionable to wear them at this time. It makes you look like a rebel. Hahaha! I am actually not sure which pair I have on in this picture since I have several. I try to pick up extra pairs at this time of year just in case I stain a pair I already have. You will find great sales on them right now.

Yesterday I had someone tell me that they were not going to sign up for Rodan + Fields because it wasn’t their “passion.” I understand that it is not for everybody just like I might not like something that you love. But here is a question for you. If you were sitting with a friend who had a splitting headache, and you had Advil or Tylenol in your purse, would you offer it to him/her? Or would you keep the fact that you had relief tucked away in your purse a secret?

I have a purse (actually, it’s a website!) full of relief for sun damage, brown spots, dull skin, sensitive skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, redness, as well as lots of other issues. I can offer relief to those I know and love. So, why would I keep that a secret?

Or, what if I knew someone had a need for extra income? Money that could be used to pay for college tuition or fund kid activities? Pay off debt or plan a vacation? Fund an adoption or start your own foundation? If I had a potential solution, why wouldn’t I offer it?

I started the blog to help women feel more confident and look better through fashion and that also includes their skin. This is my goal, to help others and to reach people who can benefit from the gift that is Rodan + Fields, both in products and in business.

  3. L H Carter says:

Can’t wait to see the leopard print ankle boots. My fingers are crossed that they fit well and feel good.

  4. I’m so glad you show us that you can wear graphic tees even in midlife! I’ve wondered if I could still pull it off and by looking at today’s post I say “Yes I can!” lol Love the animal print shoes!!! There’s just something about animal print that elevates an outfit to the next level, even if it’s a casual outfit. I am officially addicted to R+F skincare so now I’ve got to figure out how to afford it long term. I’m probably going to email you soon with a couple of questions about becoming a consultant. I am so very thankful that you decided to become a blogger and introduce me to R+F!!! You are a blessing!!!

    1. I love animal print also. I am afraid I will buy too much. Lol! I can see how you get addicted to R+F. When something works and makes you feel so good about yourself then you want to tell EVERYONE!
