50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEThank you for commenting on Saturday’s post and for the side dish recipes. I already tried one with cucumber and tomatoes, it was delicious. I am serious when I say that I need to drop 20 pounds but I want to do it in a healthy way. I have tried low carb, vegetarian and vegan, clean eating, and a host of other diets. I loved each one and I lost weight on each one. I am looking for something that will stay with me for more than a couple of months. I want something that will become a lifestyle and not a diet.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEI need inspiration, I need a challenge, I need a chef and a trainer. I can provide room and board if you are up for the job. Lol! One of my main concerns is energy. I am already on thyroid medicine and a thyroid condition can make you tired so I need my food to energize me. I am not opposed to supplements, I just don’t know what really works. Feel free to comment below what you use, why you use it, and what experiences you have had with the products.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEI used to love wearing pink but it seems like here lately that I hardly ever pick this color. When I do wear pink I have noticed that I choose the brighter pinks instead of the lighter color. Maybe as I got older I thought I needed help being seen. Sometimes we feel invisible as we age but with this color, you will certainly be noticed. Lol! I just noticed that this entire outfit, except for the purse and shoes, is from Cato Fashions. I love this little cute two layered top. The only draw back is that it is spaghetti strap and it is little shorter than I really like. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEWho doesn’t like Flamingoes? That is what I thought, EVERYBODY likes these graceful and colorful animals. I attached the Flamingo pendant to my Noah necklace. The Noah necklace is a lanyard that has a lobster claw to attach a badge, etc. With school starting back these would make great teachers presents.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEThis is a great picture of the Ashley bracelet. You can see how cute and colorful it is and why it is my favorite bracelet from Plunder. The bracelets on the right are some from Alex and Ani. Today is the last day to take advantage of the sign-up deal from Plunder Design. Go here and click on the Become A Stylist tab if you are interested. Feel free to email me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com if you have any questions.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEI have had this pair of palazzo pants for a while now. These are not for the faint of heart that is for sure. When you have something this colorful you have plenty of choices as what to wear with them. I was trying to look back on the blog and see how I wore these pants the last time. I searched and searched but I couldn’t find anything so I have evidently never even worn them before. If I had wanted to tone down the pants then I would have worn black. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEThe jacket is not an expensive one. I knew that this was going to be an item that I would not wear often so I didn’t see any reason to buy one that would last me for ages. I look upon trends also in this way. I will spend more money on something that I know I will wear more than one or two seasons. If it is a classic item that can be worn multiple times then I will splurge. I like nice things just like everyone else. A black, white, or navy jacket would be worth the splurge while this hot pink or bright orange might not be. It really all depends on the person doing the purchasing.50 IS NOT OLD | WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU FEEL INVISIBLEToday is the last day in July. This is the LAST day to take advantage of my Christmas in July specials with Rodan + Fields. It has been a wild month in my Rodan + Fields business! I have signed on more consultants than ever before, even signing my first consultant in Canada. I am more thrilled for these ladies than you can imagine. I love when ladies purchase products because I know that they are going to be seeing great results but I really love when they sign up as a consultant. I know that they are getting the best possible price and if they want to have additional income that all they have to do is put time and effort into the business. I love seeing them succeed even more than when I do. If you are interested in learning more then just let me know. We will set up a call and discuss what is the best option for you.

You know when you put a post on FaceBook you wait to see if you will get any “likes” or “hearts?” That is how I feel about my blog. Leaving a comment and pinning a picture to Pinterest is my equivalent to a “like.” If you share my post on FaceBook that is a “heart.” Show me some love, gurls!!!

I love to wear pink also! It is so flattering.

  4. Hi Tania,
We’ve been on vacation with spotty wifi so I’m back home catching up on all of the emails I couldn’t pull up! Several months ago, my husband started a nutritional program (sponsored through his workplace) called Naturally Slim. After watching him drop 5 pounds EASILY in the first week, I was astounded as he’s never had much luck with diets in the past. This program is a lifestyle change, not just a “diet.” I didn’t really need to lose more than 10 pounds but after watching my husband’s success & the way he was changing how he ate, I opted to do it too & lost the 10 pounds I wanted to. This program was provided complimentary through my husband’s job & I have read online that it is pricey. However, I still highly recommend it as it changes the WAY you eat instead of changing most of the food you eat. I feel healthier now & know that I will not have a weight problem again if I follow the Naturally Slim principles when I eat. Check it out at http://www.naturallyslim.com

  5. Christine Bateman says:

You look fabulous. I did the Whole 30 as a kick start and then paleo.

    1. Christine Bateman says:

I should elaborate that it works because breads, pastas and rice caused bloating for me after 40. Many of gf’s found the same thing.

  6. Tania you look marvelous in pink. Pink is and has always been my favorite color. You know like on Steel Magnolias, pink is my signature color. 🙂 Love your blog.

  7. I follow a blogger named Tiffanie on instagram. She has hoshimotos disease. Her story is remarkable and so encouraging. According to her bio she has a health and wellness website and a B.S. degree in Food and Nutrition Science.

  8. Hi
I purchased some Plunder jewelry in June. I loved it but my pearl necklace broke and I probably only wore it 3 or 4 times. What do I need to do to get it replaced?

    Thanks
    Sharon

    1. I’ll send you a return form. They are great at customer service.

  9. You already have a ton of advice here, so I’ll just say… those are seriously cute pants!! They might also go with a black shirt under that pink jacket — the column of color. (Or navy blue — I can’t tell what color that is)

  10. I love the outfit, you could never be invisible Tania. Lol. I lost 50 pounds on a Hormone Reset Detox diet. Eat a pound of veggies and fruit, cooked/raw, daily. I have kept it off. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great night.

  11. First, let me say I love your blog! Next, the topic of “diet”. For something to work long term and become a life change, it has to fit with your life, and ideally hsve everyone in your household on board. I have been doing Keto since March, and love the way i feel. Now, in the beginning, it was HARD! Now, I do not crave the bad carbs or sugar. It is worth the time to look into. I am not sure if Keto interferes with thyroid function, so definitely check that. It is difficult, but never let the scales define who you are. I did lose the weight I wanted to lose: however, since my face got slimmer, I seem to have more wrinkles! ? It is a trade off.?

  12. I love Weigh Down Workshop. It’s a faith based, behavior changing, lifestyle plan. Even if you don’t agree with everything the founder believes, her advice is sound and healthy. No drugs or supplements!

    1. Beth, I loved the weigh down diet and I still to this day will say the Lord was telling me that I didn’t need that when I drop something. lol!

  13. The pink is SO pretty on you! Have a wonderful week!

  14. Tania, like you, I also have a thyroid problem. Google ‘Full Plate Living’. Very sensible and for some reason it clicked with me.

  15. You look good in this pink, I am loving both the blouse and jacket.

  16. Hi Tania, Can you email me so I can contact you privately?

    1. Charlcy Green says:

I love love this outfit! Its so classy and becoming. You look beautiful in every color but this is one of my favs. As for diets Im eating the diabetic diet – its sensible chucken, fish and lots of green veggies w a little fruut and nuts. No sugar or bread. Boring but have lost 10 lbs in 2 wks. Why cant bread and butter and Mexican and pizza be calorie free!

  17. Dawn Wishman says:

    That looks great on you!
I use Plexus Supplements. They have helped me a lot.
    I would recommend that!

  18. Cathy Vollbrecht says:

You are definitely pretty in pink! I have to echo what a lot of the ladies are saying about Weight Watchers. I joined when I had my second son 15 years ago and lost 40 pounds. Then I left. I tried several other diets including the Whole 30 and a juice diet that my husband and I gave up on before the day was over. I just returned to Weight Watchers about a month ago and have lost 13 pounds so far. The app makes it so easy to track what you eat. We no longer have to write everything down. I love that we can eat what we want, just in moderation. Best wishes to you in whichever plan you decide to go with!

  19. I am also on a thyroid medication Tania. I recently lost 35 pounds. Weight Watchers is how I did it. It’s not a diet it’s a way of living and eating healthy. It’s taught me alot and it lets me and my body know what I need. I suggest if you haven’t ever tried it, to do so. My friend did it with me and she lost over 50 pounds as well. It’s a way of life. We both reached our goal weight over a year ago. It doesn’t limit what you have to eat. You can have anything you just have to count it and be aware. If I want to go out to eat I make healthier choices. I still eat that piece of cake and a cookie every once in awhile but it’s about the quantity and portion control. Good luck.

  20. Those pants are gorgeous! Pink and black are one of my favorite color combos.

  21. I don’t have a thyroid problem so I can’t help with suggestions for supplements but I do think keeping a journal of foods will help you track those that make you feel up and those that sap your strength. I use “my fittness pal” on my phone and it helps me keep focused on eating 3 meals a day, encourages me to stick to portions and it is like a game so fun to stick to—my favorite part is at the end of the day I complete my log and it tells me where I will be weight wise in 5 weeks, if I keep eating like I did that day. You can also notate how you feel that day so you could keep tabs on which days you feel full of energy and which you don’t . Log what foods you ate , what cadence of meals and even supplements you are trying to get a picture of what works best for you. I appreciate how much energy your invest in your blog—I have learned so much through your posts, I hope I can help you just a fraction of how you have helped me !

  22. Lissa Hamby says:

Hey Tania! My daughter lost about 30 lbs just doing her own thing. It has been about 6 months since she started. !. First, she uses My Fitness Pal App on her phone to keep track of every single thing she eats and drinks. 2. She doesn’t buy any junk food. 3. She eats “something’ every 2 hours to keep from getting hungry. 4. She keeps plenty of healthy snacks nearby. For example, fruit and a lot of the low fat bars that you can grab n go. 4. Plenty of grilled or baked chicken and fish 5. Nothing fried …She pretty much used common sense and took it one day at a time. The fitness pal app is a lifesaver because it keeps you accountable. I just started it too so you’re not alone!

  23. Dayna Mowbray says:

I also have thyroid issues (100 mcg of Synthroid everyday). I did Weight Watcher’s Online ~ no meetings ~ & lost 50 pounds. I eat lots of fruit, vegetables, lean protein & whole grain carbs. It is very do-able once you have the right mindset! Go for it!

  24. Tried every diet you have. I bought into Hello Fresh to just learn more portion control. We have cut back a lot.I used to cook for a family of four and now there is just two of us.

  25. Tania, you don’t look like you need to lose any weight, especially 20 pounds!!! I don’t have any advice on healthy side dishes or supplements because I’m still trying to figure that one out for myself.(ha) Love those palazzo pants with the bright pink! Palazzo pants are so comfortable and cool to wear in the summer, and those you’re wearing are gorgeous! Guess what? I’m getting some eyelashes like yours since using R+F eyelash serum – hallelujah!!! What kind of mascara do you use? It really makes your eyelashes show up great in the photos. Have a great week!

  26. Melesa Garrison says:

    Beautiful Outfit!
I have done Weight Watchers and think that is definitely the way to go. I started out on a program online, no meetings or anything like that. I now know how many points I can have everyday. I never understood all the Bonus points, but know that you never go hungry and fruit (all you can eat) are zero points. On cheat days, I would be afraid to get on the scale afterwards, but would still lose weight. Lots of things have ww points on the back of the product. I know how many points are in things, but you get to know it in your head and it’s not an inconvenience at all and it works. You can go out to dinner and know that you are ok. It’s super easy…I highly recommend it!

  27. I love Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I learned how to eat in a way that allows a real life to happen. I lost weight and it’s been easy to keep it off. No more dieting for me, just a healthy way to eat and maintain.

  28. Hi Tania from Texas! I have followed your blog for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. I sympathize with your hope to lose 20 pounds. I am in the same boat! We were blessed to be able to go to Italy this summer for two weeks. It was amazing, and we did a LOT of walking! One thing I really noticed, though, was PORTION SIZE of the meals we ate. Americans really go overboard on their portions! So that is the first change I have made: eat only until I am full and not STUFFED (in the South we are raised not to leave food on our plates!). Besides my usual walking at least a mile every day, FOR A MONTH I have cut out fried foods, no chips unless they’re baked, and no fast food! I feel that these small changes will work in my favor and then I can add a little more (regular workouts at the Y!). Good luck to us!

  29. If you’re really looking for a change in the way you eat, and not a “diet”, then you should research eating paleo. I, like you, prefer not to take supplements, and eat as natural as possible. I don’t count calories, points or worry about the amount I eat. I had life long digestive issues that only worsened as I got older. My doctors seemed only interested in trying new medications. So I decided I needed to try something for myself. Paleo is now my way of life. I weaned myself off of meds within 3 months, lost 23 pounds, and feel wonderful again. As a side note, I don’t use any protein powders or supplements and try to stay as low fat as possible.

  30. Hi Tania. Lots of good advice from your followers! I also suggest you research bio-identical hormones-starting with your thyroid. Natural versus synthetic makes a big difference and helped me to stabilize my thyroid and postmenopause issues after years of low energy Once that was accomplished, losing those miserable extra pounds was SO much easier. Best wishes to you on your journey.

    1. Tania, you look terrific today, as always. Btw, I’m hypothyroid and on Synthroid/synethetic med. Very low energy & now blood pressure & pulse issues besides, from it. :-/ So -I am switching up doctors & next seeing one who IS also open to natural meds from animals! I’m hoping it’s the holy grail for energy, weight and better health. (Wishful thinking, but most are more satisfied on it!) Btw, here’s a link to docs who prescribe the natural meds. http://www.thyroidchange.org/patient-recommended-doctor-list-us.html Take care, Tania!

  31. You always look fantastic but when it’s on our heart to drop weight, it’s time to try. I started Weight Watchers August 2014. did the first year totally on-line, the moved to adding meetings and their personal coaches to keep me on target. Lost around 80. It is a good, flexible program that I highly recommend. I am entering into a valley of being bored and it is slowly creeping back but doing what I can to resist. It is my battle and nothing against the program at all. I am just not doing it as diligently as I should.

I’ve found when weight weighs me down emotionally, I am less able to the Lord’s work since I am tired and feeling unhappy with myself. My prayers are you will find the right program for you and you’ll reach your goal, being strong and continue to be an inspiration to so many!

  32. I have thyroid issues also. I have been on medication for over 15 years. I struggled with energy levels and losing weight was impossible. I have lost around 20 pounds since April doing the AIP eating plan. There is a Facebook group called Hashimotos411. (It is a closed group, so you have to request to become a member.) You can learn about it there. It is not a diet. It is an eating plan for those with thyroid or autioimmune disease. As a matter of fact, they will tell you losing weight is not the goal. Being healthy is! But as you get healthy, you lose inflammation from not eating the bad foods! Feel free to email me if you want more information. (They don’t try to sell you anything. They just are there for information. As a matter of fact, they will take you out of the group if you try to sell supplements.) Good luck!

  33. Love the outfit! Pretty in pink! Side dish: wash 3-4 sweet potatoes, do not dry, pierce with fork several times, put in crockpot, add a little water and cook on high 3-4 hours or low 6-7 hours. I do not put butter on them. They are so delicious and so good for us.
Walk, walk, walk! It really helps with losing weight and inches!

  34. Debbie Barr says:

Tania, we are so similar in style and personality we may be sisters from another mother!!! I too have wanted to drop a few pounds and have found Weight Watchers a life changer. I always thought this was an “old lady group” but we come in all shapes, sizes and age groups. It’s been a game changer for me and my weekly meetings are fun, inspirational and encouraging. I’m only 5’3″ and have managed a size 8…..8!!!!! I eat what I want in moderation and have a new lease on life (and no, I’m not getting paid for this endorsement). Also there are WONDERFUL recipes on skinnytaste.com she’s wonderful….Best of luck 🙂

  35. Hi Tania! I love your outfit today!! Color is something I tend to shy away from and need to get out of my comfort zone and do more of it! As far as the weight loss goes, I am a health coach for a weight loss program and would be thrilled and honored to help you out. The program is called Optavia, and you’ll not only lose the twenty pounds you want to lose, but you will get an education on how your bodies metabolism works and will learn how to keep the weight off. There’s a wonderful support group on FB that you’ll be added to for recipes and inspiration from others on the program. If you want to learn more you can contact me at gbald baldy1966@cox.net Gbald.tsfl.com

  36. Elisa herbert says:

Tania- look into The Fast metabolism Diet by Hayley Pomroy. It’s designed to enhance your thyroid function. I too have hypothyroidism and have been successful on this plan. A warning: it’s very restrictive and takes some getting used to!

  37. Good morning. As you have mentioned before we are our own worst critics. Always! Just want you to know you look great!!! If 20 pounds off will make you feel better, then go for it. However, you look fantastic right now!!! You inspire me to be a better person all the way around. Have a Blessed day!

  38. I lost 25lbs on Weight Watchers. I am a firm believer in the program. Lots of support and you can still eat all your favorite foods! It’s about making good choices! I continue to live this lifestyle and I feel great!

  39. Pat Tuszl says:

Tania, I’ve suffered from thyroid disease for 25 years. Have you been tested for Hashimoto’s? If not, ask to have the thyroid antibodies tested. If you have Hashimoto’s (an autoimmune disease that destroys your thyroid), you should go gluten free. It will help. Unless you have a very unusual doctor, the only thing they will do is test your TSH and give you Synthroid. If you are still not feeling well, I highly recommend you subscribe to this blog.

    https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk

You will learn what nutrients to test, what thyroid tests should be run and what the results should be, what different thyroid hormones might be needed, what symptoms are probably coming from your thyroid and anything else you need to know. If you have specific questions you can post them and get answers. If I can be of any help to you, I would be glad to give you my contact information. I suffered for most of those 25 years but a few years ago I started to educate myself and become my own advocate. It’s made a world of difference.

  40. RITA CROWE says:

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!!!! Could be my favorite of all of yours!

  41. I feel your pain with the diet adventure. I’ve tried everything that has come along, too. Right now I’m on something that has a different feel to me and after a week I’m feeling optimistic. It’s called Optavia and a pharmacist in my hometown sells it and has coached me over the phone. Several people in my extended family were successful with it before I tried. But, of course everything I’ve ever tried has been because someone I knew was successful with it. You eat 6 times a day-5 from them and 1 that you make. The food from them has bars, shakes, and other types of food. I can handle it because the food tastes good to me (which has never happened), and I actually feel like I’ve had a meal after eating them (also, has never happened). I don’t love to cook so only having to think of 1 meal a day works great for me. You can watch videos people have made on YouTube about the plan. This plan/company used to be called Medifast. Anyway, I don’t sell this, so you would contact Ed Potts from Fairfield, IL or his wife Lucy Potts. You can find them on Facebook. Good luck on your journey!

  42. I do love some pink! About weight loss, I hear you!!! I take thyroid meds too and just don’t have all that energy anymore! At age 45, I was in great shape, sz 2 or 4 and still wore a bikini!!! Then, menopause hit!!! Oh Lord, no one is totally upfront on how it can effect some of us. Anyhoo, I’ve recently, like the last two months, given up breads, rice, pasta and sugar. I’ve not weighed but my pants are very lose and I’m fitting back into some favorite things. We’re mostly eating only fresh veggies, baked or grilled meats, eggs, cheese and fruit. I know some low carb diet eskew the fruit and many veggies. This has not been hard at all. We do a cheat day once or twice a week. That may mean eating a dessert or having a burger with a bun. Even when eating out, there are options too. No special pills, drinks or books!!! I’m going to Dr today and I’m looking forward to the weigh-in!!!!!! Oh, buy a Fitbit and monitor walking steps! Not bought one yet but that’s next!!! Love your blog?

  43. Tania
I enjoy reading your page and seeing all the outfits that are very stylish and on trend. As for the weight loss I follow Weight Watchers they even call it a LIFESTYLE not a diet. Like you I’ve tried them all but they are hard to maintain NO BREAD OR SUGAR is not for me. With WW I feel like I can actually do it and still enjoy nights out or a weekend BBQ. I’m losing the weight slowly so it (hopefully) will be gone forever.

  44. I did the medi fast diet for one month. Lost 20 pounds and have kep it off for 18 months. The whole premise, in my opinion as a customer who used it, is the education that comes a long with it. The program really taught me why I was overeating and what I can do to prevent that. Good luck!

  45. Hi Tania! I am just beginning The Daniel Plan. It’s a lifestyle, faith based program that my church is offering as a small group. It was developed at Saddleback Church – Rick Warren is the pastor and he also wrote “The Purpose Driven Life” – a fantastic book. I encourage you to learn more about this at danielplan.com and I truly believe this is what you are seeking.

  46. Love the outfit Tania and you look gorgeous in it! Like another lady that posted, I have been Thriving for about 6 months now! Since I turned 50, its seems like everything is moving slow (meaning my metabolism and my body)! I love that I have energy and I sleep so well at night! Thrive just came out with the DUO Patch that is to work on fat loss, not weight loss. Only been using it for a month, so we shall see! I also Jazzercise at 3-4 times a week and my husband and I just joined the local rec center, so we work out together 2-3 times a week with weights. I love to cook and I love to eat, so we do everything in moderation! I have also started slowing down on the wine, that can really rack up the calories. I’m going to try to limit my wine to occasionally on the weekends! With school starting soon, that may not be realistic! LOL!!!
    Happy Monday!

  47. Best diet ever….Weight Watchers combined with the book, Beck Diet Solution. Keep track of your food intake, exercise, hydrate, stay away from high sugar/fatty foods, eat lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein, whole grain carbs, nothing off limits as long as it fits in your allotted points/calories.

  48. I know the best thing that has worked for my husband and I is to concentrate on real food. That doesn’t mean depriving yourself, but actually checking out the ingredients in the foods, and trying to eat more of the ones that are “real” food. Our friends just did the Whole 30 which is basically the same thing, but more extreme!!

  49. I was exactly in your situation 10 yrs ago (thyroid and all). I lost 20 lbs over 6 months by following the No Sugar-No Flour ‘diet’ and a lot of walking. It is just common sense and you don’t count calories, carbs, or points, etc. Dr, Gott (used to write a newspaper column) came up with this plan and wrote a book. It is not necessary to read the book, but it does give recipe ideas and substitutions. I do not drink sodas of any kind, not even diet. I almost gave up bc it took 3 weeks of being faithful to the plan with A LOT of walking before I lost any weight on the scale. After that, the weight came off at about a pound a week. Once you get to your target weight, you can have little splurges occasionally.

  50. Kathleen F says:

Tania, here’s a place for some great recipes ~ http://www.skinnytaste.com. Her recipes are Weight Watcher friendly and very tasty. My go to source for recipes.

  51. Tania – Weight Watchers is the best eating plan for long term maintenance! I lost 50 pounds about 10 years ago and have kept it off following WW. If you lose 20 pounds though, you’ll need to do lots of shopping for a new wardrobe that fits. Love your outfit today❣️

  52. Bonnie Henderson says:

Love the outfit! I agree with you about pink, the blush shades wash me out. I need to wear a very clear blue based pink to look good. As far as diet I also am on thyroid medication so what I have found works best is Intermittent Fasting. Basically you skip breakfast and then eat 2 meals. !6 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating. My schedule is I eat my 1st meal at 12 noon and my last meal by 7 pm. Now it doesn’t mean you can eat a ton of junk food during the 8 hours but if you eat 2 fairly large meals you will not be starving. Try to stay low-carb and alcohol free. I have been doing it for about a month and have lost 6 lbs. This has been the only thing that has worked for me with my thyroid problems. I feel great and have tons of energy. My husband and some of my girlfriends are doing it. Good luck!

  53. Cristina Downey says:

Tania, you look great and we all know what makes us feel better however being 61 myself I know if I lost 40 lbs now compared to my 20 year old self I would look like death. The only thing that works for me long term is to avoid carbs (white anything- pasta, flour, rice, refined sugar – which of course I don’t all the time) and exercise. I get up at 5:30 and walk the treadmill for an hour with 2.5 lb weights around my ankles then alternate days doing leg weights and arms. As we get older weight lifting and preserving muscle mass is critical for our health and will tone and tighten things up! No, we won’t look like Arnold either, lol! Find a combo of moderation diet like South Beach light and workout at least 5 days a week with a routine you can stick to. In the meantime, you do look wonderful!

  54. I love those pants!! I have never seen those at my Cato!! Thanks for styling outfits that are at a lower price point and showing that you can still look REALLY good for not a lot of money!❤️

  55. Love, love, love those pants!!! Diet….my big breakthrough came with 21 Day Fix, but I have since fallen off the wagon and need to get back on. Too much traveling, too many fun events, too much stress, too many excuses!!!!

    1. Yep, I’ve done this one too. Lol! I have the “too’s” too. Lol!

  56. Connie Fisher says:

The pink outfit is very nice

  57. Hi Tania,
Love the pop of pink today and those pants! You look fantastic! My mom is also on thyroid medication and I would caution you as well on any supplements before checking with either your dr or pharmacist. She has been following the Trim Healthy Mama approach to eating and has been very successful. Here is a link to the website, https://trimhealthymama.com/. I have the books and love their philosophy and plan, just haven’t had the umption to stick with it these days.? There are lots and lots of recipes and boards on Pinterest and Facebook to help and encourage.

  58. Please be very wary of supplements since you take thyroid medication. Many of them are contraindicated for thyroid medication. Being “all natural” doesn’t mean it is OK to use.
I continue to enjoy your blog!

    1. I know, Michelle. I am not into the “all natural” thing because there are lots of things that are all natural that can still not be good for you.

  59. It is hard feeling invisible and am drawn to bright colors. I love your suggestion about splurging on classics and not spending as much on

I take a wonderful patented supplement that has increased my energy, decreased the pain in my knees and enhanced my bodies ability to work like it did when it was younger. Let me know if you would like to know more.

  60. Hi Tania , you look fantastic ! Love those colors on you . While I can’t recommend a lifestyle plan how about seeing a naturopathic Dr. ? I haven’t been to one yet but plan to . They could work with your thyroid issues etc . Good luck 🙂

    1. Ruby, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look around but I doubt if Grundy has anything like that. We are just too small a town.

Tania you need to Thrive! I have been Thriving for 18 mos It is by far the best decision I have made for my health. It gives you All Day ENERGY and has helped me lose almost 50 lbs. It’s premium nutrition that is pharmaceutical grade vitamins and minerals. It has pre and probiotics in it also. I would love to give you more information if you would like. Here is my link http://www.mullenixh.le-vel.com

    1. Holly, there are several ladies in town who do Thrive. With the thyroid condition, I need to be careful what I take. I know most supplements like this say not to be used with a thyroid condition.

Good morning – long way losing weight. I am 60+ and twice cancer, lot of medicine was necessary – but since 5years only thyroxine left and 112 kos!! So I started 22/jan. 2015 with weightwatcher, weekly meeting, great coach and people around – all with same goal! Step by step i found out new recipes, daily challenges – but weightwatcher is not a diet and i learnt a daily routine. Even my husband – he loves eating! – and also our sons/daughter in law- they all like the cakes and meals. Up to now i lost 33 kos/around 66 pounds and I feel so good. My husband and I started with gym – 3 times a week 45 min – what a great feeling afterwards! For me weightwatcher works: easy recipes, wine and chocolate easy to plan, weekly weight control with a great coach in an amazing group and not expensive at all.

    Good luck!

    Yours Angela from Germany

    1. Angela, congratulations on beating cancer, twice! That is truly remarkable!!! I have tried weight watchers in the past, we no longer have one in our community, and it does work. I guess it is really the mindset that I need. Until I am ready to follow through with the plan I choose nothing will work.

I started weight watchers also and love the results. Good work and keep going.
