UNDER THE SEA PRINT DRESS
I am glad to be back in Virginia, even if I did come home with a massive headache. I think two factors have led to my headache. One of the reasons that I think I got a headache was being tight and tense because of a weather front moving through. I could see the storm clouds brewing the closer I got to Virginia. That was NOT the welcome home party that I was hoping for. Lol!
The second reason that I think that I got a headache was because of the stress of driving. To get to the Atlanta area from here, I have to go through Knoxville and the outskirts of Chattanooga. I don’t know about you, but when I travel through a city, I get stressed. There are four or more lanes of traffic, people going at high rates of speed and darting in and out of the lanes, and you have to be vigilant to keep up with all of the cars. I think that I probably put myself into a strained position that, in turn, causes me to get a stress headache. I am sure that Joe loves me traveling and coming home feeling like crap. I think he might have murmured something like, “that is what you get for laying out all hours of the night.” Lol! He knows that I didn’t go anywhere at night, but that is his way of saying, “you need to keep your butt at home.” Lol! I think he misses me. Hahaha!
Don’t you love this Seychelles tunic? I found this beautiful coral and aquatic print dress/tunic from a website that I had never ordered from before. It has a pintuck design down the front, a v-neck pompom trimmed neckline, and three-quarter length sleeves. I like the knee length; it is not too short or too long. The dress/tunic is 100% cotton, but they recommend handwashing and hanging to dry. I ordered a large, and as you can see, the dress fit me perfectly. Here is the link to the dress.
The bracelets that I am wearing are the Nevada (white), and the turquoise one is a part of this months Plunder Posse. The Nevada bracelet is one that you have seen me wearing before, and I am sure that you will see me wearing it a lot this summer. It is a cream & white beaded two-strand bracelet with gold accents & a tassel. It is 6.75″ long on an elastic strand.
This necklace is also a part of this month’s Plunder Posse. The Posse is a subscription service that is 25.00, including taxes and shipping, and you will receive between 1-3 pieces of jewelry each month that is not in the catalog. It is a limited supply, and unfortunately, this set just sold out yesterday. If you are already a part of the Posse service, then you will still receive your set. There is no enrollment fee or cancellation fee, so you can cancel if you are not fond of the months special. However, if you keep the service for three months straight, then you will receive a coupon for a discount at each 3-month interval that you are signed up. That is a great deal.
The Michael Kors Berkley espadrille sandals are a perfect shoe for the summer. Mine is a linen color, but they come in different colors, and the gold zipper in the front add a touch of elegance to the shoes. I like the platform style because they elongate my legs, and longer legs look thinner. Lol! Also, I love wearing them with a few of my jeans that will drag the ground, and these shoes give me just enough added height to keep the jeans from getting filthy. Here is the link to the shoes.
I thought that you might like seeing another photo from the Appalachian School of Law. This one was taken before the rain started, underneath a pergola that has beautiful trumpet vines that have gotten lush with all of the rain that we have been having.
I mentioned to you in yesterday’s post that I went on a 1000.00 shopping spree at Nordstrom. You wouldn’t believe how much trouble it was for me to spend the money. I have a practical side that refuses to pay a lot of money on an item, and then I have the other side that thinks that I should buy something that I wouldn’t usually buy for myself since it was virtually free to me. The shopping spree was one that I had earned from Rodan + Fields, so the money wasn’t coming out of my pocket. An hour and a half after my sister and I walked in the store, I walked out with THREE bags. So, what do you think that I ended up purchasing? Do you think that I went practical, or do you think that I splurged?
“This is my unique story; for info re: typical results search ‘Rodan+Fields IDS’ ”

My guess is you bought some classic pieces that will be well used for multiple occasions – because your practical side won out LOL!
Haha. Check in tomorrow to find out!
Joe’s a funny guy. You must laugh all the time. You’re so real. Love that!
Angie, sometimes I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when I am with Joe. Lol!
That dress is way too cute! Nice that you are branching out and taking pictures at different locations around town so we can see more of Grundy. Those are extraordinary colleges that you have there! But I want to hear more about your $1,000 shopping spree at Nordstrom. I can’t even imagine! Way to go Tania!
The colleges are beautiful, if small. Be sure to tune in for tomorrow’s post to see my purchases.
i hope you splurged!
Love the dress, it’s perfect for summer! I know what you mean about city driving, I lived in Atlanta for about 25 years now I live in a rural area. I get stressed going to Savannah now. I really like peaceful and calm.
If it was me at Nordstrom, I would buy shoes. Love their shoe department
Katy, they did have a nice shoe department!!!
I’m hoping you splurged!!!
Lori, that is a distinct possibility that I did splurge. Lol!
I think that there shoes and a bag and you got them on sale. i agree i dont like driving in the city. Im from the city but i refuse to drive there. where i live now is more suburban and i still take all the back roads lol
Nicki, nothing that I bought was on sale. That is unusual for me, but I decided to buy what I wanted, not what was on sale.
Love the tunic. If I had to guess, I would say you bought SHOES!!!
Maybe, Joni. You never know. Lol!
I love what you are wearing! It Is so unique
And yes, I am curious as to what you bought.
I plan on showing everyone on tomorrow’s blog post, Janet. Be sure to join me.
Such a shopping spree sounds amazing! How fantastic! I am curious now at what you bought!
It was a lot of fun to go shopping without having to worry about how much money I was spending.
