TRY ON HAUL WITH CHICOS, TALBOTS, J CREW, AND AMAZON

Usually, I do a try-on haul on Tuesday’s, but I switched days this week. I had a sponsored post that needed to be posted before the end of the month, so I decided to post my try on haul today. This is a great way to start out the month of October, which promises to be a wild and crazy month.

If Amazon is not your favorite place to shop, don’t worry that you will miss out on all of the fun. I am sure that other big retailers like Walmart and Target will likely be hosting huge, competing sales of their own. It is like Pre-Black Friday, it is fast-paced with lightning deals, but it only lasts for two days.

I have been amazed at how many people have already started their Christmas shopping. Several people have told me that they have most of their shopping done, and I will admit that I’ve already bought several things myself. What category do you fall in; started shopping already, waiting until Black Friday to start, a last-minute shopper, or a “we don’t buy gifts for anyone” household?

Now that I’ve got you thinking about Christmas, I will start with today’s try-on haul. There are a lot of clothing items to go through, but before we start, here are some things to know. These outfits aren’t “styled” and may not look the best with other clothing items. I am trying to show you as many items as possible, so bear with me. For sizing references, I am 5’6″ tall, and I usually wear a size 10 in pants, a 10 or a medium/large in tops, a size 12 in dresses, and a size 9 in shoes. I will try to mention my sizes, but if I skip something, you should assume that it is these sizes.

You know that I am always looking for flattering clothing and unique details. I found this Jasper colored side-twist sweater, which is going to be perfect for the Holiday season ahead, and I think that it fits that requirement. The side-twist detail gives the top a unique detail, and the draping of the material is perfect for hiding tummy issues, which makes it flattering. This top also comes in gold if green is not your preferred color.

Look how the chains pop against this dark background! Gold usually is my go-to metal for jewelry, but I wanted to show you how you can mix and match metals, and the look still is fantastic. I have on a pair of Easton geometric hoop earrings in silver. I added a thin chain with a cross charm that is both in gold vermeil. I wear this necklace daily, and I love it! The Ryder multi-chain necklace makes it easy to mix and match since it has different colored metals all in one necklace. I love that this necklace is convertible and can be worn long or short. The matching magnetic Ryder bracelet also has different colored metals. But, be aware that this bracelet is not adjustable and won’t fit anything over a 7″ wrist. And, finally, I added my Zorte hammered bracelet in silver to add a layering effect.

You know that I love a gray-wash jean. These So Slimming Girlfriend ankle jeans in the color Harvest Moon are PERFECT! I’ve never been a fan of boyfriend jeans, they are too baggy for me, but I love these girlfriend jeans from Chicos. I think that I have almost every color that they offer in these jeans. Lol! They look great on, and they have a tiny bit of fullness to them, so they don’t fit skintight like my skinny jeans. With Chicos, it takes time to get the sizing down since they use a different system. I usually wear a size 10 in other brands, but with my girlfriend jeans, I wear a size .5. Please take my word for it; you need to size DOWN!

The snakeskin shoes that I have on are from last year and are by Steve Madden. They are still available, but the sizes are limited. I found a pair at Express that looks very similar, and they are on sale for under $20.00. I’ll put a photo of them below.

Who likes to dress casually? I see a bunch of hands going up in the air, and mine is one of them. There are days when I want to relax and be comfortable, but you know that I always want to be stylish. A top is one item, and it can be blah and plain, or it can be stylish. You make that choice every time that you go shopping.

This animal print mesh tank is a stylish item, and it is just a tank top. This top adds way more interest and style to any outfit than a solid colored top would, and it is no more trouble to put on. I love the large animal print, and this will look great with a lot of different cardigan or jackets. Adding a bright colored cardigan or jacket is a favorite way of mine to style animal print, even though today I went with black. It is up to you how you decide to accessorize your top. I am wearing a size 1 in this top, and it fits me perfectly.

A denim jacket is something that everyone should have in their closet. These jackets come in lots of different styles, colors, and all of them are fabulous. This denim jacket in the washed black color is awesome, and it gives the jacket that well-loved look. You can wear a denim jacket with so many things, and it goes great with jeans all the way to maxi dresses. I am wearing a size 1 in the jacket, and I think that it fits perfectly.

The light wash skinny ankle jean is still a favorite look for me. I like a light wash jean for a casual look and a dark wash jean for a dressier look. When I am wearing dark colors, I think that the light wash stands out more, so I will choose to go in that direction a lot. A skinny jean is great for wearing with flats, sneakers, ankle boots, and they make it easier to tuck your jeans inside knee boots. I am wearing a size .5 in these jeans, and they fit great.

Look at these sneakers!!! These black microsuede slippers with leopard calf hair trim are so cute! I don’t like wearing sneakers that are athletic in nature but show me a fashionable pair, and I am all about that. Lol! These are super cute, and they have a leopard print tongue also, which is unexpected. This is what I mean when I say look for unique details on your items. I found them to run big, though, and I will have to send this pair back. I ordered a size 9, and they have a good inch or more in the toes. Plus, if you have a wider foot, then these would probably fit you great. I had to cinch mine up, and I don’t have a narrow foot. These sneakers are under 40.00, so they are a great deal.

This red twill knit band jacket is a show-stopper! I love adding bright colors to an animal print outfit, and this is an excellent illustration of one way that I would do that. This jacket is the same one that I wore in my Perfect Fall Outfit post, except that one was in a caramel color. I love both of the colors in this jacket, and I find the look and style of this jacket to be flattering. The website recommends to size up for the best fit, but I ordered my usual size 10, which fits me fine. If you are on the verge between sizes, then definitely size up.

I added a black quilted leather handbag to this look since it needed a dressier handbag than I had in the earlier post. This handbag is luxurious looking, and the tortoiseshell trim at the closing elevates the look of this bag. Yes, that is a unique detail!!! All of you that thought that, give yourself an A+.

Because the jacket and handbag were on the dressy side, I added a pair of red suede heels to my look. This pair is old, and I sure have gotten my wear from them. I love adding a red pump to a dressy outfit; it gives the look some sass, making me feel sassy inside. Add red lipstick if you are really feeling sassy!!!

I am getting ready to head out the door and go pumpkin and mum shopping. I just got in my urns for my side entrance, and the welcome mat is coming today also. So, I am running down to our local market to grab some fall decorations, and maybe I will be able to share the photos in tomorrow’s post. Be sure to check back in to see how it is coming along.

This colorful paisley bateau top is adorable and extremely popular. When I went to grab the links, I see that it is limited to XS and S sizes only. Dang it, I hate it when that happens for you guys. But, I did see a couple of other cute paisley tops, so I’ll link to those instead. I am wearing a large in this top for sizing references.

This chunky knit navy cardigan is soft and cozy. This is the perfect cardigan and on-the-go, and it is very lightweight. I love the soft, stretchy fabric, the length, and the fact that it has pockets! I am wearing a size medium, and I think that it fits me perfectly.

I had to laugh when I saw how baggy these pants looked in my photos. I was trying to show the shoes also, but the pants need a higher heel or wedge shoe with them. Here I am on my tippy-toes trying to show you how they would look if I were styling them correctly. These are jean trousers, and I love the wide leg of the jeans, and I love the dressier vibe to them. These are a high waist jean and hit above the belly button. I am wearing a size 8 in the jeans, which would be the correct size for me.

My sister-in-law told me that she loves Talbots shoes, and now I know why. These Becca Kilty Driving Moccasins are very comfortable, and they are super stylish. If you’ve been looking for stylish flats, then these should be on your list. Talbots has several flats that I thought were nice, so I’ll link to those also. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they run true to size.

Well, this bright blue shell was also popular and is completely sold out. I was going to delete this look but decided to go ahead and show it so that I could show you the cardigan, jeans, and loafers. The shell has a matching cardigan, and it is in stock. This braided leather hobo tote from Patricia Nash is so different and unique. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about handbags by Patricia Nash, but this is the first one that I’ve tried. It is stiff, which makes it stand up better than some of my other bags. I loved this white color, but the bags also come in a brown and black color too. The large tassels add another unique detail to this bag, and this color will be perfect for spring and summer.

I should have written down which jeans I am wearing. I can’t remember if they are the Nightfall Wash or the Catalina Wash jeans, but I know they are a straight leg jean from Talbots. Lol! They look almost identical, and if I had to guess, then I would say the Catalina since they are light looking in the photos. I ordered both jeans in size 8, so I know the size, at least.

These crocodile-embossed loafers are pretty sharp looking. These are perfect for my preppy dressers, and they would look great with a work suit. I love the color of these loafers, and they fit nice and snug. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit me perfectly.
