When I first moved to Grundy back in 1995 there was this little store that I went to all the time. It might have had a real name but all I ever knew it by was, “Inez’s.” Inez was one of the bigger than life characters that started every sentence with, “Law, honey, let me tell you what I got in today.” She was the original overstock store here in Grundy. She would buy out the merchandise from some of the stores after all the sales were over. Part of the fun of Inez’s was the hunt. Nothing was organized, things were in piles, boxes upon boxes were stacked up, but you just knew there was a treasure in there somewhere.Whenever it came time to pay she always made you feel like you were her best friend and her best customer. She would tell you how much everything totaled up to and then she would whisper, “But, because it is you, you can have it for ……” I am pretty sure that she used that line on everyone but it was still fun. She was like family. Her son and Joe were great friends and my daughter went to school with her grandson. Last night though I had to attend her funeral. Inez was 92 and in true Inez fashion, she was dressed in all her finery and looked beautiful. I bet she is telling some great stories about now and they are all starting with, “Law honey.”
When you are transitioning from one season to the next, it came be cold in the mornings and hot by the afternoon. So, the best thing you can do is wear a lightweight cardigan, wrap, or throw that you can remove if the need arises. This light beige cocoon wrap is perfect for that occasion. My dress is sleeveless so I needed to add something but a traditional jacket seemed too stuffy. This cardigan is several years old and it came from Cato’s. I liked the open weave in the sleeves. I thought it was a very pretty unique detail.
I have the Dallas necklace worn in the short version today. If you missed when I wore it long, you can see it (here). This is one of those “kitchen sink” kind of necklaces. There has to be something in your wardrobe that will match it. It is a heavier, very substantial, necklace. If you have issues with heavy necklaces then this one is not for you. The earrings and leather bracelet are this months Plunder Posse. The Posse is a monthly subscription service that is 25.00 total, including tax and shipping. There is no signup fee and you can cancel at any time. Each month is a different special consisting of 1 to 3 items. Some people I know use these as gifts for Birthdays, Christmas, etc. You could always keep the earrings and give away the bracelet or vice versa. Remember that all purchases over 75.00 excluding taxes and shipping, will get an extra piece of Plunder from me. Go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and pick on the party with my name. I have been busy mailing out Plunder pieces all week long to you ladies. This maxi dress is also on that I bought at Cato years ago. I wore this last June and it is a completely different look. I love a maxi dress but I know a lot of you think you don’t look good in them. Just for your reference, I am 5’6″ tall. I liked the print in this dress, that is something I look for when I am choosing clothing. I look at the print and the color palette.
It was a wild day yesterday in my Rodan + Fields business. I talked to a lady in California and one in South Dakota about joining me in this business. It never ceases to amaze me that I now talk to ladies all over the country and even in Canada and Australia. I saw this post today on FaceBook and it cracked me up. Sometimes I feel like these are the answers I give to everything too. Lol!

What a treasure Inez must’ve been! I’m sorry for your loss, but it is Heaven’s gain. I have been honored to have made friends with wonderful older women who came to mean so much to me. Such a blessing.
Please wear that belt again with another outfit. I really like it!
I enjoyed your character portrait of Miss Inez. She sounds like a wonderful sales person— well trained and with years of experience to take care of her customers.
Even if she was just mouthing the words to sell her merchandise, she was making an effort, working, and being a professional who respected her customers.
Now days employees avoid eye contact as they hurry scurry to avoid you. I miss helpful, informed clerks in the shop aisles.
I so Love your blog!! All your outfits are to die for too!! I especially love it when you where items that you purchased from Cato’s because I work there part-time. Your Sunday Inspirations are Great too!! So glad that I stumbled on to your site on Pinterest!! Love ya Gurl!! Hope the rest of your day is Fab!!

I’m SO sorry for your loss of your friend, Inez! Sounds like the whole town will miss Miss Inez. Aren’t you SO lucky to have known her, that she made such an impression on you, that she was so kind to you, that she made you feel special, indeed! Miss Inez helped you paint an even more beautiful life!
I find such JOY in you! In your blog! You’re a fashion gypsy! Whether someone says, “yea!” Or “ney,” they can never forget the smile on their face that YOU gave them! You’re FABOO!! Susan, they have already added the new Fall & Winter items. They are just in addition to the items that were already in the catalog. If you want to only see the new items, go to my website, http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and instead of hitting the shop tab, hit the catalog tab. It will show you the new fall supplement.
