THIS OR THAT – MOTO JACKET OR KIMONO FOR FALL

I had a great time visiting my parents and the rest of my family in Tennessee. My dad’s birthday was the icing on the cake (get it…cake…birthday?), and his two sisters were there to help us celebrate. My niece works for Nothing Bundt Cakes, so we had several bundtinis in different flavors. My dad enjoyed this part of the party, and I saw him eat two of the bundtinis, not that I was counting. Lol!

Me and Dad

Doesn’t my dad look thrilled to have Bo (his favorite dog) and me (his favorite child) sitting beside him? This is his happy face; if you look closely, you’ll almost see a grin. Lol! My oldest grandchild, Matti B., took this photo for me. She is a budding photographer; go back and look at yesterday’s photos; she took those too. I wish she lived closer to me; I would have her hired as my full-time photographer!!!

Today, I’m doing a This or That post. Both outfits can be worn for summer depending on where you live and can also be worn in the fall. I like outfits that work for multiple seasons and are versatile.

The color and print of this Foil Elbow Slub Tee are beautiful and perfect for fall. The soft beige/golden color will go great with chocolate (my new favorite color) and navy, maroon, etc. The dotted pattern reminds me of a subtle leopard print, which works great for ladies who have shied away from leopard print since it was so bold. I’m wearing a size 1 in the tee, and it fits great.

Oh, My Word!!! This Jade Stone Bib Necklace makes a statement, even though it is a neutral color. The necklace features neutral-tone jade stones accented by wood beads. The necklace is heavy, but it doesn’t hurt my neck. Chico’s has unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry, and I love its quality.

If you like the look of a moto jacket but not the weight and bulk, this Linen-Blend Stretch Moto Jacket is perfect for you. It is light in weight but heavy in style, and the olive color is gorgeous. I like the length of the jacket that hits me at the hips and the roll tab sleeves. This jacket is available in alabaster and espresso if olive isn’t your color. I’m wearing a size 1, and it is the perfect fit.

This Folk Art Tote Bag might be out of the comfort zone for many of you, but I’m betting some of you will love it. You can carry this tote with so many different colors. I carried the tote with a bright red dress, which looked great. This is a large open tote so that you can use it for almost anything.

The Button Hem Crop Jeggings are pull-on style pants. I love pull-on pants, but I hate that most don’t have pockets. This crop-style pant looks great with flats, heels, and boots so that they can be worn all year round. Unfortunately, these pants are almost sold out; only a size 2 is still available. I’m wearing a .5 for sizing reference. If you love this look, keep reading…..

Here is the That outfit. I mentioned that chocolate was my latest color obsession, and this outfit shows off the color perfectly. It is a beautiful fall color but can be worn any time of the year, even in summer.

I love a kimono; it creates drama every time you wear it. This geometric print gives the Tie-Front Kimono interest, and I like that it is lightweight enough to wear in summer. My mom wore this to church over a maroon-colored dress, which looked fabulous on her. This is an S/M, and it is plenty large enough.

Here is a better look at the print since it was blurred in the previous photo.

Here is a look at the tie-front design. I would probably never wear the kimono tied, but I like it when I have options.

The website calls this color, Espresso instead of chocolate. Either way, I love the color, and I think it looks great with the kimono. The Chocolate/Espresso tee is a winner in my book!

The jeggings in the first outfit are crops, but these are the ankle-length version. Both of these jeans are great, but since this one has stock available and the other doesn’t, this is my favorite pair. Lol! I’m wearing a size 1 in these since I purchased them last year. They are a little big, but not enough to bother me.

The gorgeous Beaded Necklace with accents shaped like shell fossils is stunning. It looks great against the chocolate background but would look just as good with a chambray shirt. My Suede D’Orsay Flats are a pair I bought last year, and I wear them all the time. They are a perfect neutral, and they go with everything.

  1. Today I am having a hard time picking a this or that. Usually there is one I would prefer to wear over the other. But I really like both! Plus your smile just looks like you are having a blast. I wonder if it’s because you are hanging out with family?

  2. I like both outfits. I love the chocolate tee! Great picture of you and your Dad.

  3. Pam Kehoe says:

Tania, You look fabulous! are you still on your weight loss journey? You look amazing! I love your style and you keep coming up with some of the most amazing outfits or maybe it’s we share the same taste! Thank you for what you do to help this old fart! Much appreciated!

  4. Good evening Tania,
I like both out fits and the tote and especially the tie front kimono! I have not seen one do that before! It’s a good tummy hider I would think! Chico’s has very nice items, the prices are just a bit high for my liking.

  5. Love both pictures. Happy Birthday to your dad

  6. Melesa Garrison says:

I like this and that, but I’m not crazy about the jeans with the buttons. You look cute in everything, but not for me.

  7. Both outfits are very attractive. I really like the kimono, chocolate is a flattering color for so many women. My favorite item is your folk art tote, it would complete so many looks.

  8. Today it’s a BOTH for me. I love the foil shirt, but I like the full-length jeans best. And I am a kimono girl all the way. I seldom wear jackets as part of an outfit here in hot Texas.

  9. The jacket looks much cuter on you than the model! It’s swallowing her! I like both outfits!

  10. I love the Foil Slub Tee. I can so see me wearing it. However, I will have to choose “That”. It looks so gorgeous on you. I would love to be able to wear it. When you are 5’2″ that is not an option.

  11. Ginger Hiller says:

It’s a tie for me! I love both outfits on you and I can see myself wearing both. The only change I would make is to wear straight legged jeans.

  12. I like both, but for I would choose the THIS look.

  13. I think both outfits are great!!

  14. Gale McDonnell says:

Hey Tania – the Linen Blend Stretch Moto Jacket you are wearing is a very nice length – between cropped and long. The description on the website states 26.5″ long. Yours does not look that long. Could you reply with a comment concerning this? I prefer the slightly shorter length and the length you are wearing looks perfect!

    1. Gale, whenever that happens, I assume the models are probably 6′ tall, whereas I’m 5’6″. I thought it was a nice length.

  15. THAT for sure! Stunning! However, I do love that you paired that gorgeous stone necklace with the gold foiled Tee in your THIS outfit. I think if you would have worn the ankle jeggings in the THIS outfit, I might have picked both! HA!

  16. I Ike the moto jacket outfit the best.

  17. Brenda Summersgill says:

Both outfits are great but I like THAT chocolate

  18. I love your blog!! I really like both outfits, but I’m loving the olive green jacket. I’m in agreement with you on the olive green. It is my new neutral, it looks good with so many things and transitions well through the seasons. Now to the kimono…I often wear kimonos in shorter lengths as my completer piece. I’m just not as much of a fan of the longer ones. The featured one today is a possibility though.

  19. I have to pick the outfit with the brown T-shirt. Love those colors on myself.
Also, you are lucky and blessed that you still have your Dad. ❤️

  20. I choose both! Love the colors and the styles. You always look so put together! What a special time you had with your family.

  21. I love THAT outfit! The kimono is so pretty and unique. I just love everything about this outfit. Shout out to the foil tee though. I really liked it too.

  22. Both looks are a hit with me😊. I like the chocolate color for fall too!

  23. Julia Gilbert says:

    Love the THAT outfit!

  24. Vickie Dudley says:

When I read the title of today’s post, I decided which outfit I would like. However, after looking at the outfits, my assumption was wrong. I really prefer the Kimono look. So, for me, it’s all about THAT.
