THIS OR THAT, A FLORAL TOP TWO WAYS

Do you ever have crazy dreams where you wake up and think, “what the heck was that?” Usually, I can’t remember my dreams, but I remember that I had one. This dream was so wacky that I remembered it, and I am still confused. If one of you knows how to interrupt dreams, you can let me know what it means.

I dreamed that I was at my mom and dad’s house, which is ironic since I am currently on my way there at this very moment. Mom had cooked supper for us, and she also made a dessert. My dad loves something sweet after he has dinner, so this is a common occurrence. My father is a slow, picky eater, and he doesn’t eat a lot either. After he ate, mom got both of them a piece of pie that she had made. Dad LOVED the pie so much that he ate the rest of the entire pie. It was a Boysenberry Pie, and as far as I know, none of us has ever eaten a Boysenberry Pie before. Since dad ate the entire pie, he looked at me and told me to have another bowl of Kensington Soup if I was still hungry. What the heck is Kensington Soup???

The dream doesn’t sound as crazy when I put it down on paper, but it was so weird to me in the middle of the night. I can’t wait until I have dinner tonight at my mom’s, I’m getting a slice of that pie before dad can eat all of it! Lol!!!

 

I know that everyone is always interested in seeing how you can wear an item more than one time. So, for today’s This or That post, I’m styling this floral top two different ways and there is a big difference in the looks. The THIS look is cute and casual, and the THAT outfit is casual and CHIC. I hope you like both looks, but it is always fun to see which is the crowd favorite.

I wasn’t sure that I would like this peplum top because I don’t like tops that cinch at my waist since that is where I carry most of my weight. A peplum top will sometimes work though because it flares out and creates the look of a thinner waist. Since I absolutely love the pretty blue floral print on this Sleeveless Peplum Top, I decided to give it a chance. The top is adorable and looks feminine without looking too young and girlie. I’m wearing a large, and it fits me great.

The only con that I have with this top is that the back is lower than the bra that I am currently wearing. I would need to keep my jacket on or wear a different bra. The top isn’t that low, my bra is one that has a thick in the back, so it is higher than most. This look also gives you an idea of the length of the top from the back.

The Roll Cuff White Jeans that I am wearing are cute and modern looking. They are lightweight, but not see-through. I always recommend wearing beige or nude undergarments when wearing white, I wear those colors all the time no matter what color jeans I’m wearing. I’ve become a HUGE fan of Draper James RSVP, found only at Kohl’s, and I ordered these jeans in the Kelly Green color also. I think they will look great this spring and summer with so many colors, but especially navy. I’m wearing a 10 in the white jeans, but I ordered an 8 in the kelly colored ones. I don’t like my white clothing to be too tight, so I always size up.

Yes, I know, you’ve seen this denim jacket several times this week. Lol! I told you that I liked it and that it would go with everything, this is just another example of how much you can wear a denim jacket. So far this week, I’ve styled this denim jacket by Wrangler with a dress and a jumpsuit. Now, I’m styling the jacket with ankle jeans for a cute and summery look. The jacket is lightweight and unlined, and I love the fit and style. I am wearing a large and it fits great.

I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of solid white sneakers, and I think that I’ve found them. The Puma Carina Sneaker Leather shoes have a retro look, and since I am retro, I love the style. I had been looking at a pair of canvas sneakers, but they were too big so I sent them back and ordered these instead. This pair fits TTS, I am wearing my normal size 9, and I like that they are leather and I will be able to wipe them off if they get dirty. I already have a pair of white canvas sneakers by Sperry that I love, so this leather pair will be a great addition to my wardrobe.

Now, for the THAT look! This is a little dressier look, but it is still casual. This look is put-together looking and chic, although I’m still wearing a denim jacket and the same top.

Here is a quick look at the outfit without the jacket. Also, I’ll give you the links to the jewelry that I’m wearing with both outfits. I’m wearing my favorite AVI Hoop Earrings that I wear all of the time. These are lightweight, but they make a statement. If you are looking for something a little smaller, then try the Adeline Hoop Earrings, they are gorgeous. I’m wearing the Adeline Link Necklace and the Gold Vermeil Cross necklace, these are two necklaces that I like to wear together for a layered look.

You would think that these Girlfriend Chino Pants were bought at the same time, but they are actually from different retailers. The Chino Pants matched this top perfectly, and I loved the look of them together. I thought I was ordering the right size when I ordered an 8 since that is one size lower than I used to wear. BUT, I didn’t notice that they were a girlfriend style, and I usually size down for them. So, these are a little baggy on me, but I would rather them be baggy instead of skin-tight. Lol!

This No Stain Frayed Hem Denim Jacket is so modern and fresh-looking for spring! I love the longer length that hits me below my hips, but it is the frayed hem that really makes me happy. This look is trending, modern, and stylish! No one will ever accuse you of looking frumpy when you are wearing this jacket. You don’t even have to worry about wearing white since it is made with a No Stain denim fabric. I’m wearing a size 1 which fits me perfectly!

I’m wearing a jute-wrapped wedge heel platform sandal in tan. These wedge sandals are great for wearing with anything all spring and summer, but I’ll try to find some other choices for those who don’t want to wear high heels or platform sandals. These run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

Okay, that’s all I have for today, so let me know which is your favorite look? BTW, I didn’t tell you WHY I am on my way to my mom and dad, it is because I have a hair appointment today. I’ve recently started going to my DIL for my hair so that I can visit with my son and his family, see my mom and dad, and visit with the rest of my family who still lives in Livingston. But, you might see a NEW and very different look from me soon. (unless I chicken out) Does anyone want to guess what I’m going to do with my hair? A new cut? New color? What do you think???
