The Power of Red: Rocking the Classic Holiday Color
As the holiday season approaches, there’s a color that never fails to steal the spotlight and capture the essence of festivity: red. Red is more than just a hue; it’s a statement, a symbol of warmth, passion, and the joy that comes with the most wonderful time of the year.
During the holiday season, when joy and excitement are in the air, incorporating red into your surroundings can amplify the festive atmosphere and elevate the overall mood.
One of the most classic ways to embrace the power of red during the holidays is by incorporating it into your wardrobe. Whether it’s a stunning red dress for a Christmas party, a cozy red sweater for a casual gathering, or even a red lip, wearing red makes a statement that goes beyond fashion. Today, I’m sharing my style tips on how to rock the classic holiday color red, and how you can incorporate it into your outfits this Christmas season.
If you’re looking for even more red inspiration, here’s some of my most recent posts:
How to Rock Red During the Holidays
Try a Festive Red Sweater:
- Style Tips: Pair a cozy red sweater with jeans or a skirt for a casual holiday gathering. Look for embellishments like sequins or embroidery to add a touch of festive flair.
- Layering: Experiment with layering by adding a faux fur vest or a stylish jacket to elevate your look. This not only keeps you warm but also adds depth to your outfit.
Get Warm with Red Outerwear:
- Style Tips: Make a statement with a red coat or jacket. Whether it’s a tailored wool coat or a stylish trench, red outerwear instantly adds a pop of color to your winter wardrobe.
- Monochromatic Look: Create a monochromatic look by pairing your red coat with red accessories like gloves and a scarf. This cohesive ensemble is both chic and impactful.

Mixing Red with Prints:
- Printed Pieces: Don’t shy away from incorporating red into your holiday wardrobe through prints. A red floral dress or a blouse with a subtle print can be both festive and fashion-forward.
- Neutral Pairings: When mixing red with prints, balance the look with neutral pieces. For example, pair a red floral skirt with a white blouse for a fresh and stylish combination.
Red Makeup and Nails:
- Bold Lips: Red clothing pairs beautifully with a bold red lip. Choose a shade that complements your skin tone for a classic and festive makeup look.
- Red Nails: Don’t forget about your nails! A vibrant red manicure adds a polished touch to your overall appearance.
Wearing Casual Red Looks:
- Athleisure Style: Embrace the casual side of red with athleisure wear. A red hoodie or sweatshirt paired with leggings or joggers is both comfortable and on-trend.
- Sneaker Chic: Red sneakers can add a playful and modern element to your casual outfits. Pair them with jeans, skirts, or even dresses for a laid-back yet stylish ensemble.
The Classic Red Dress:
- Style Tips: Choose a red dress that complements your body shape and personal style. A timeless A-line or wrap dress can be universally flattering. For a touch of glamour, opt for fabrics like silk or velvet.
- Accessorize: Keep accessories simple to let the red dress shine. Consider nude or metallic heels, and add a statement clutch or earrings for an elegant touch.
