THE PERFECT BEACH TOTE
I have started the long process of packing to go to Cancun, Mexico at the end of the week. I don’t want to show you what I am packing just yet since I want to take pictures of me wearing my outfits while I am there. However, I am going to show you one of my MUST “haves” that I am taking with me. 
I had been doing some research on the perfect beach tote and I had decided upon a neoprene tote. But, I couldn’t find one that I liked at a price point that I thought was affordable, they were all around the 200.00 dollar mark. That is when I got an email from Purple Poppy asking me if I would like to pick out a dress for my upcoming trip. I have already packed one of the dresses that I got from them last year in my suitcase. Since they are located in Cape Cod they always seem to have the cutest dresses for wearing to the beach. I went immediately and I, of course, found one (you’ll see it later) but this tote also caught my eye.
The first thing that caught my eye was the print. You know that I LOVE gingham so I clicked on it to have a look. I just about squealed with delight when I saw that it was made from neoprene material. For those who might not be familiar with neoprene, it is the material that scuba diving suits are made from. It is waterproof and you definitely need that at the beach or the pool. It is also very flexible which means that it has enough give in it to allow you to stuff all of your sunscreens, water bottles, and beach towels into it. This tote has snap closures where you can make the tote smaller or you can unsnap for more expansion.
The tote is by Beach Road and it also comes with a separate smaller pouch. I plan on putting my cellphone and Joe’s wallet in that to keep it dry. Not only is this tote super practical for the beach or the pool, it is fashionable enough to carry at any time. That is important when you are traveling because I want an item to perform double duty. When I was searching for beach totes one of the main things that I was looking for was sturdy handles. I have had other straw totes that the handles didn’t hold up to the number of products that I was toting to the beach. It is no fun when you are left scrambling and trying to pick everything up and carry it in your hands. This has one rope that continues under the tote which should be strong enough for all of my items.
I choose the navy and white print but this tote also come in light blue and pink gingham. AND, for those who are Vegan, you will be happy to know that this tote is Vegan-friendly.

Looks like you are ready to go! Love the tote. I know you are a well seasoned traveler but I thought I’d share one of my must haves…a night light for the bathroom. ?. I keep one in my travel bag on a permanent basis. It’s great for those unfamiliar rooms and spaces. I hate trying to “find my way” in the middle of the night. I’ve stubbed many a toe and bumped many a shin stumbling to the bathroom in the dark. LOL. Can’t wait to see your packing tips.
I am trying to get ready but I am still in the packing phase because I keep changing my mind. Lol! I have a small night light I might take but I am one of those who can’t stand a light in my bedroom. I will cover up a clock and put pillows against the door cracks so that the light doesn’t show under the door.
Ahhhh. You are like my hubby. I put it in the bathroom so it is like a beacon but that might be too much for you as well. We go to Cancun every November for my husband’s birthday. You are going to have a GREAT TIME!! Be sure to go over to Isla Mujeres and make sure Joe lets you drive the golf cart! LOL You’ll get some great shots of Iguanas there as well as the house that has been on HGTV that is shaped like a seashell. 🙂
What a fun swimsuit cover-up or for a walk on the beach and that tote looks just the right size without being too big to carry around. We have never been to a destination resort but it’s on my bucket list!
Sandy, the size is one of the things that I like about this tote. It is perfect for when we are shopping or walking around without the beach paraphernalia in it. It can serve two roles which I love!
We go to Cancun quite often. In fact, recently stayed at the Moon Palace and LOVED it, but seem to prefer La Blanc. Not so many youngins and we like having a butler. Spoiled brats we are!..haha 🙂
This will be my first trip to Cancun. Joe and I are excited for a few days of relaxation.
