The Best Way To Wear Brown Pants
I’ve been posting a lot about the color brown this year. That isn’t a color I normally post about, but I’m embracing the color in different shades this year. You need to remember that your style will change (or it should), so what you didn’t like in the past might be something you’ll love now. Be open to new colors and styles, and try new things. Today, I’m going to show you the best way to wear brown pants.
Shades of brown are not my colors. I look better in rich, vibrant colors, but I don’t always want to wear those. There is nothing classier than a monochromatic outfit, but you have to watch to make sure that it doesn’t look boring. The one thing that I NEVER want to be is boring. Lol!
This monochromatic outfit in various shades of brown manages to look understated and elevated at the same time. I love the different shades of brown, from the lighter handbag and shoes to the darker caramel pair of jeans. You never have to wear the exact same shade of color when creating a monochromatic or tonal outfit; they just have to be in the same color family.

I LOVE the Cord Moto Jacket! Back in October, I did a try-on haul and showed this moto jacket in an olive green color. I ended up leaving the store without the jacket, but I loved it so much that I ordered it online. I decided to get the washed rye color instead of green because I figured I would wear it more. This is one of my favorite jackets, and I’m glad I ended up ordering it after I left the store.
Here is a look from the back so you can see the length of the jacket.
I loved this Turtleneck Cable Knit Sweater so much that I bought it in two colors. The camel one is called Apricot, and the olive one is called Army green. I’m not in the color naming business, but I still stick by my description of camel and olive. The large size fits me perfectly.
I’m a HUGE fan of Brahmin handbags. I got my first one a couple of years ago for a Valentine’s Day gift from my husband. Never mind that “he” didn’t know he bought it for me; we were both happy with the purchase. I got something I wanted, and he didn’t have to be bothered with trying to order me something. He might have recently ordered me another Brahmin bag for Christmas 😆, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see if “Santa” brings it or not.

I’m also a big fan of Joe’s Jeans! I’m talking about the brand, not my husband’s jeans. Lol! This style is the Molly High Waist Flare Trouser Jeans, and you can still get them, but not in the Walnut color I’m wearing. I found some other jeans that look to be a similar color, so I’ll link them below. I find Joe’s Jeans to run small, so I ordered a 30 instead of my usual 28 or 29.
I wanted to show you a couple of other ways to wear brown pants. This is another monochromatic outfit, but the sweater is a much lighter beige than the pants or cardigan. I already had this outfit, so I thought I’d share it with you today. I have several corduroy jeggings from Talbots, and I wear them every year. The caramel pair is perfect for fall, and they look great tucked into a pair of knee-high riding boots.
What do you pair with coffee-colored jeans??? I added this gorgeous Animal Print Cashmere Sweater for a bit of drama. I’ve been eyeing this cashmere sweater for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and order it. I am so glad that I did!!! This is soft, as you would expect, and I know I’ll be wearing it on repeat. Don’t worry about it being a statement piece; after all, animal print is a neutral. Lol! BTW did you notice that this is also a monochromatic outfit?
So, how do you feel about the best way to wear brown pants? Do you think these looks were a hit or a miss? Are you ready to jump on the brown jeans train?

Brown and different shades of it is my color. I’m glad chocolate brown is back. My favorite is the first outfit. I dress similar to that with all my shades of brown. Olive green is another color of mine. I wear the colors that look good on me but I still will wear other colors just for a change. I compensate with wearing different lip color, etc. Thanks for the styling ideas.
Love how you show a monochromatic outfit using different shades of the brown/camel family.
Those Joe’s jeans are crazy cute on you! I don’t wear browns and beiges much, but I love the looks of these styles you’ve shown us. Keep up the good work!
I rarely wear brown but you have convinced me I should give it a try. Your choices are beautiful! I’m a fan of Brahmin handbags and have several but I always shy away from the metallic finish. Thank you for showing it so I can see it can enhance and not overwhelm the outfit. I have been looking at the same handbag and color in the photo. Maybe I should send a note to Santa!
I have a pair of similar brown pants. Brown is not a color I usually wear either. I like these outfit ideas!
I absolutely LOVE both the jackets! The animal print sweater is beautiful! Happy Saturday❤❤❤
Nice shades of brown. Love the haircut and nails are beautiful. Also noticed a long necklace with a green stone, and honey colored stone ring. Where are these from?
The stone ring was from Ann Taylor, but it has already sold out. The necklace is called the Monica Gold Long Strand Necklace in Teal Mix, but it is sold out too. Maybe you can find them on eBay or PoshMark
Love wearing all shades of brown!
I think it is extra easy to blend different browns together–you’ve done a great job showing this!
thank you!
I do like brown. I like the second monochromatic look better. I am adore the dark brown cardigan.
The design on your nail with the snowflake reminds me of the cable knit sweaters you like do much. Looks pretty
