Did you know that brooches are making a comeback? Yes, Gurls, those pins your grandmother used to wear on her sweater lapel are trending in a big way. I am excited because I love pins and brooches, and buying new jewelry is always on my “to-do” list. If you’re ready to rock this trend, you’re in luck because I’m sharing the best stylish and trendy brooches for winter.

I love wearing brooches and pins. Brooches make a statement, and I love to pin them to my coats in the winter. Some years, I’ll get out my winter coat, and it will still have a brooch pinned to it from the prior year. The CC brooch I’m wearing is one I bought in January, but it is no longer in stock. But don’t worry, I found a LOT that are equally as nice and will look great on your sweaters, jackets, and coats.

The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter – From Macy’s

Look at this gorgeous snowflake! I found this at Macy’s, and you won’t believe the price. Let’s just say it looks way more expensive than it is. It’s not large, measuring just 1 3/4 ” by 1 1/2″, but it would be a lovely, delicate piece of bling to add to coats and sweaters.

This vintage-inspired pin will have your friends thinking you’ve raided your grandmother’s jewelry box. Featuring a cultured freshwater pearl and set in sterling silver, it’s a bit pricier. It measures 1-5/8″ x 1-3/8″. Reviewers give it high marks! This would work any time of year, not just at Christmas.

This is one of my faves! A cardinal symbolizes devotion, courtship, and monogamy, not to mention spring. The colors are gorgeous! I think this would work for winter and spring. It’s another very inexpensive brooch and would look great against a lot of neutral colors, like white, black, or even grey.

The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter – From Walmart

If I hadn’t told you, would you have guessed this was from Walmart? It’s a great Christmas pin and it’s under $10 dollars! The size is approximately 1.57×0.98 inches. I’ve included a photo of it on a suit jacket for reference.

The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter – From Amazon

These aren’t technically “brooches,” but while we’re looking at vintage inspired jewelry, I thought I’d share these sweater clips. These add a bit of style to any cardigan. Just drape it around your shoulders and secure it with one of these beauties, and you will look very elegant.

Here’s another lovely pin that looks much more expensive than it is in reality. The vintage-inspired flower brooch has plenty of sparkle. I don’t have the exact dimensions, but I’m sure it’s in line with the others I’ve featured. It’s a lovely piece under $15 dollars.

This isn’t a Christmas brooch, but it caught my eye, and I thought it was fun. Of course, you don’t have to wait for St. Patrick’s Day to wear it. 4-leaf clovers are lucky, so you could pin it on whenever you need a bit of help. This is under $10 dollars, and the reviews are great.

This vertical-style brooch is just $10 dollars! I love the sapphire-colored gems and the pretty curved design. It’s been reviewed over 1,000 times and has a fantastic rating. Most everyone says that it’s beautiful and looks much more expensive than it is. I love it when that happens!

Wouldn’t this be beautiful on a black or white wool coat lapel this Christmas? Pin this to a pretty sweater or on the side of a gorgeous scarf, and you’ll be rocking any Christmas party. I love the red, but it comes in several other colors, such as green, white/gold, and even purple! It’s a terrific pin for under $20 dollars.

Are you ready to rock this trend? If so, are you digging out your grandmother’s brooch or trying one of these new ones? Either way, wear it with confidence!

  3. I like brooches. I kept some of my favorites. I remember in the early 2000s wearing cardigans and instead of buttoning it up I would use a brooch and make it fitted to my body. I saw that on the TV show S#x in the City. I’m glad brooches are back in style.

  4. My mom worked as a secretary her whole life and had an extensive collection of brooches and pins. I have them on all of my outerwear jackets and most of my blazers. I’m going to order the sweater clips for some of my cardigans without buttons. Love them!
