The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter
Did you know that brooches are making a comeback? Yes, Gurls, those pins your grandmother used to wear on her sweater lapel are trending in a big way. I am excited because I love pins and brooches, and buying new jewelry is always on my “to-do” list. If you’re ready to rock this trend, you’re in luck because I’m sharing the best stylish and trendy brooches for winter.
I love wearing brooches and pins. Brooches make a statement, and I love to pin them to my coats in the winter. Some years, I’ll get out my winter coat, and it will still have a brooch pinned to it from the prior year. The CC brooch I’m wearing is one I bought in January, but it is no longer in stock. But don’t worry, I found a LOT that are equally as nice and will look great on your sweaters, jackets, and coats.
The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter – From Macy’s
Look at this gorgeous snowflake! I found this at Macy’s, and you won’t believe the price. Let’s just say it looks way more expensive than it is. It’s not large, measuring just 1 3/4 ” by 1 1/2″, but it would be a lovely, delicate piece of bling to add to coats and sweaters.
This vintage-inspired pin will have your friends thinking you’ve raided your grandmother’s jewelry box. Featuring a cultured freshwater pearl and set in sterling silver, it’s a bit pricier. It measures 1-5/8″ x 1-3/8″. Reviewers give it high marks! This would work any time of year, not just at Christmas.
This is one of my faves! A cardinal symbolizes devotion, courtship, and monogamy, not to mention spring. The colors are gorgeous! I think this would work for winter and spring. It’s another very inexpensive brooch and would look great against a lot of neutral colors, like white, black, or even grey.
The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter – From Walmart
If I hadn’t told you, would you have guessed this was from Walmart? It’s a great Christmas pin and it’s under $10 dollars! The size is approximately 1.57×0.98 inches. I’ve included a photo of it on a suit jacket for reference.

These aren’t technically “brooches,” but while we’re looking at vintage inspired jewelry, I thought I’d share these sweater clips. These add a bit of style to any cardigan. Just drape it around your shoulders and secure it with one of these beauties, and you will look very elegant.
Here’s another lovely pin that looks much more expensive than it is in reality. The vintage-inspired flower brooch has plenty of sparkle. I don’t have the exact dimensions, but I’m sure it’s in line with the others I’ve featured. It’s a lovely piece under $15 dollars.
This isn’t a Christmas brooch, but it caught my eye, and I thought it was fun. Of course, you don’t have to wait for St. Patrick’s Day to wear it. 4-leaf clovers are lucky, so you could pin it on whenever you need a bit of help. This is under $10 dollars, and the reviews are great.
This vertical-style brooch is just $10 dollars! I love the sapphire-colored gems and the pretty curved design. It’s been reviewed over 1,000 times and has a fantastic rating. Most everyone says that it’s beautiful and looks much more expensive than it is. I love it when that happens!
The Best Stylish and Trendy Brooches For Winter
Wouldn’t this be beautiful on a black or white wool coat lapel this Christmas? Pin this to a pretty sweater or on the side of a gorgeous scarf, and you’ll be rocking any Christmas party. I love the red, but it comes in several other colors, such as green, white/gold, and even purple! It’s a terrific pin for under $20 dollars.
Are you ready to rock this trend? If so, are you digging out your grandmother’s brooch or trying one of these new ones? Either way, wear it with confidence!

So old fashioned!!! I like modern.
I bought a pair of slippers but when I got them home, they were so plain. Remembering that brooches were coming into fashion, again. I dug through jewelry I don’t wear anymore, my mom’s and my MIL’s jewelry. I found a couple of brooches and pinned them to my slippers. It jazzed up my slippers and recycles old things into new uses.
These are gorgeous!! I have bought a couple of them for Christmas gifts! For myself!!😉 I have always adorned my business clothes with brooches. My collection has grown over the years and I wear my mother’s also.
Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful festive brooches.
I love to wear pins! you’ve inspired me to bring put my collection and wear them!
Thanks for this blog. I lost a cat pin that had angel wings 4 years ago that was pinned to my coat it represented my cat that had passed. I remember now that it was from Macy’s.
I absolutely love brooches! So glad they are making their way back. I especially love Christmas brooches.
I still have brooches from years ago in my jewelry collection. I’ll get some of them out and see if I can rock them now!!
Fun little pins are a small delight on a jacket. Thanks for sharing these sweet designs.
I would love the ice cream recipe please. I am glad I hung on my brooches. I always thought a smart black suit with black pumps and a classy brooch is just stunning!! Plus I have some Christmas pins and earrings. Love the brooches you are styling. Have a blessed day!
I’m going to try and post it in tomorrow’s email.
These brooches are so pretty! These remind me of my childhood! Keep the great posts coming!
Love all these brooches. They remind me of my childhood when they were so popular to wear. My favorite is the saphfire vertical pin. I read your posts every morning with my coffee!
Love all these brooches. They remind me of my childhood when they were so popular to wear. My favorite is the saphfire vertical pin, my bitrthstone. Love your posts,Tania. You brighten my day!
I like brooches. I kept some of my favorites. I remember in the early 2000s wearing cardigans and instead of buttoning it up I would use a brooch and make it fitted to my body. I saw that on the TV show S#x in the City. I’m glad brooches are back in style.
My mom worked as a secretary her whole life and had an extensive collection of brooches and pins. I have them on all of my outerwear jackets and most of my blazers. I’m going to order the sweater clips for some of my cardigans without buttons. Love them!
I am so thrilled to see that brooches are trending. I have a large collection that I accumulated over many years. They are great conversation starters!
I have a couple from my grandmother that always remind me of her.
Love a gorgeous brooch! Not only is it a statement piece, but it can keep a too-low sweater, top or dress stylishly closed! I have a giant rhinestone snowflake I look forward to using every holiday season! Love your blog and posts! I get so much inspiration out of them!!
I’m going have to dig in my jewelry box. Thanks
I love the sweater clips! I don’t think I have ever seen one. When I first read the name of your post, I thought well that will be a quick skim over lol thanks again for proving me wrong😂 I really enjoyed this and it reminded me of my Grandmother’s butterfly brooch I have tucked away. Have a blessed day🦋
I’m glad you enjoyed the post.
I’m so excited these are coming back in style! I have always loved brooches but have kept them put away.
I wear silver, so may have to spring for one of these to add to my collection!! : )
Yay! I love, love, love brooches and have collected vintage ones for years. I just got a new Christmas Tree on, but I had not realized they were back in until I read your post, Tania! I am very happy and will have a lot of fun adding them to my outfits. Yet another reason why I love your blog!
Do you have a stacked Bob?
Sorry off topic
But I need a change and like your style
No, it isn’t stacked, but I guess it is sort of a bob.
One piece of information I would love to have seen here. Where do you place the brooch? If I wear a jacket or coat with a collar, does the brooch go near the tip of the collar? Or does it go above the right or left breast, on a flat spot? Or can you play around and pin it towards the middle? I’m never sure of this.
It is something I need to research.
I have such good memories of my grandmother wearing brooches and love that they are making a comeback!
I love brooches and I am glad to hear they are trending again! Perfect for the holidays!!
Oh I love brooches! I have several but see some in your post I may have to buy!
The cardinal one is great! It means so much.
What a great post! Loved it! I have the snowflake pin on the lapel of my black coat.
Jackie
I’ve always loved brooches and wore them even when they weren’t so popular. I have some from my mother and grandmother who are no longer with us, but they sure are thought of when I wear the treasured pieces. You found some lovely ones! I’ll pass on the ice cream recipe, I think…..
I have lots of brooches and I love wearing. I enjoyed this post greatly!!!
Who would have thought brooches are in!
Unpacking my Christmas decorations I ran across two of my brooches that were on Christmas stockings. they were cat themed. Yes we had stockings for our cats.
Both cats have passed away and I cried when I saw them. I am taking them off the stockings and using them on my sweaters this season.
Awww, it is so sad when we lose one of our fur babies. I just put a photo of my daughter’s cat in the email I sent out.
Beautiful and very reasonably priced!
Thank you for the post! I wear scrubs at work, so I’m never entirely sure what is in style or not. Your posts are a God send (and then you post scripture, which is always welcome!)
The brooches shown are beautiful. I’m so glad they’re coming back into fashion. They really do add a little extra swag to an outfit, don’t they?
Bless you!
I already have this shamrock pin and love it. Might have to get the cardinal one!
I’m so glad to hear this, I have a number of brooches that I’ve been waiting to come back into style. there are three you’ve linked to that are stunning, and I can’t believe are so inexpensive.
Love this post, Tania! I have several of my grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s brooches. I can’t wait to wear them now I’ve seen your post!
You can imagine my surprise when I saw the first brooch- the silver snowflake. I had just pulled that out of my jewelry box yesterday to wear on my coat. It was gifted to me about 15 years ago and I love it.
That blue and silver floral pin is gorgeous!! Thanks for a great post.
This is a fun and nostalgic post!!! Love brooches, can’t wait to break them out again and add to my collection!
I love brooches! I wasn’t sure they were in style anymore. Thanks, Tania!
I would LOVE to see brooches become popular again. I have many antique ones from my mother and grandmother that just sit in a drawer.
These are lovely! I like the fact that they add a touch of sparkle and fun!
I love my brooch collection and always get compliments when I wear one. Talbots always has a selection of brooches that bring a smile to my face!
I haven’t worn brooches in years – I kind of forgot about them! I have several holiday brooches around here some where. It may be time to update my collection! My favorite is the cardinal from Macy’s. Thanks for the reminder!
When my daughter got married in 2012, her bouquet was made from brooches from great grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers, aunts, and friends from both her family and the groom’s family. The florist filled in with real greenery. It was beautiful!
Very interested in the ice cream recipe.
Love this!! I even have -or used to have the snowflake pin, now to find it. I love sparkly brooches, and wore them with my suits/blazers in the 90’s. They were the perfect conversation starter at conventions. Thankfully I kept them, and will wear them this winter. Have a blessed week, and I’ll pass on the ice cream recipe.
Thanks for this post ,Tania! I own several of my grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s brooches. I can’t wait to wear them now!
I love them! Is there a correct side to wear a broach? Hard to tell because sometimes photos online are flipped. I feel like I want to see someone wearing it on their right so when I look at it it’s like reading a book, if that makes sense- They are all lovely! I have some I bought years ago at The Museum Store- need to get them out!
I’ve always heard that you should place the brooch beside the hand you would use to shake hands with. But, I don’t follow that rule since I’m usually putting the brooch on myself, and I use my right hand to secure it.
I love the brooches! I already have a snowflake one and a couple of others. I try to wear something sparkly every day in December. It puts me in the holiday spirit. Happy Holidays!
what a great idea
I went to a “vintage” store a couple of years ago and fell in love with brooches. I’m so glad to see they are having a moment. I especially love the Christmas/winter
themed ones.
