Today, I’m sharing the best slippers for women over 50. First of all, what IS a slipper? According to my dictionary, it’s a “comfortable slip-on shoe that is worn indoors.” Can you ever wear slippers outside? Yes! The key is the sole. Some of them are thin, which won’t work on wet or slick pavement, but others are for driving, etc. I’ve included some of everything; slippers for home and slippers that no one will bat an eye should you rock them at your local Target! Let’s take a look!
I had these UGG slippers for over two years, and they still look almost like new. I’ve worn them outside to take my dog potty, and I even wore them in the snow the other night.
These have a suede upper and a 100% Sheepskin lining. They are about as cozy as it gets, and I love that I can easily slip them on without taking the time to pull and tug.

You’ve probably heard of Bombas socks, but did you know they made slippers? My mom is all the time telling me that I influenced her to buy something…today I influenced myself. Lol! One look at these slippers and I hit the add to cart button. Another plus, they offer free shipping and returns when you sign up for an account. I bought the mediums, and I can’t wait for them to arrive.
These washable slippers from Dearfoam are definitely meant to be worn inside. Works for me; I love being home, lol. Dearfoam is known for super soft and comfy shoes, which is what you want when you’re lounging at home. These slip on easily and are machine washable!
How cute are these slippers? These are great for when you have your pedicure game on point. The corduroy and cross bow elevate these so that they’d look great with any loungewear. Of course, memory foam means they’re going to be very cushiony. I am showing them in vanilla, but they are available in nine different colors.

These are simple and chic, but I didn’t choose them for the looks alone. These are made by Barefoot Dreams, one of my all-time favorites! These slides have a memory foam footbed and plush microfiber velvet all over. These come in two colors – carbon (pictured) and deep taupe.

I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered from Quince, and I wouldn’t expect anything different for these slippers. They have a suede leather upper with 100% Australian shearling lining and insole and a durable non-slip rubber outsole. These slippers are under $50, and they might be the best deal of the day.
I bought my first driving slippers last year, and I love them! I’m on the road a lot to see my grandkids, and I want something comfortable. The insoles are memory foam which means they are super comfy, and the sheepskin is breathable, keeping your feet warm and toasty. The sole has rubber knubbies on the bottom for traction. They come in nine different colors, including black, grey, and navy.

People swear that Birkenstock makes the most comfortable shoes, and this one features a removable, cushioned insole with arch support. The description doesn’t indicate if it’s specific for indoor or outdoor, but it does have a rubber sole.
These slippers can definitely be worn outside for errands around town or inside as house slippers. My preference? UGGs are too nice to keep inside! The cozy lining is made from plush UGGpure™, a textile made entirely from wool but crafted to feel and wear like genuine shearling. Plus, they’re water-resistant!

My grandkids all love money for gifts. It’s impersonal but they get what they want. As far as house shoes I have to now use more expensive ones with real support. My plantar fascitis is acting up and my Vionic ones help it a lot. Dearfoams is a brand I like but can’t wear for too long right now.
I got my 13 year old daughter the dear foam Ugg dupes. Cross your fingers that the likes them, lol. I have LL bean shearling mocs and I love them.

I also feel that gifting money for Christmas is too impersonal. However that is all my older grandkids request so what I do is buy them a small gift so they will have an actual gift under the tree & accompany the gift with a gift card. One of my sons and his family use a website where they put ideas on a wish list and that makes shopping for them super easy! Wish all my children did this, as stressing and guessing at Christmas makes me crazy🤪
