The Best 4th of July Outfits For Now And Later
I love celebrating holidays with outfits that are “themed” for the occasion. However, I also love to get my money’s worth from an outfit, and that means being able to wear it in multiple ways. So, today, I’m going to show you some of the best 4th of July outfits that you can wear now AND later.
The Best 4th of July Outfits For Now And Later With White Jeans
Most of the time, it is hot and humid on the 4th of July. I like wearing shorts and dresses to keep cool, but there are times when I want to be covered up. My first look is one that would be perfect for my ladies who love a good casual classic look.
You can’t go wrong with a Striped Classic Button Down Shirt. This is a new purchase for me, so I wasn’t sure how the sizing would run. I ordered a large, but I’m going to return it for a medium. I love the feel of this shirt and it is one that I can see myself wearing in multiple ways.
I’ve had this navy Charming Shell for a while. I love this style shell since it has nice wide straps that hide your bra. I have this shell in multiple colors, and a large fits me the best.
To change the look, I tied the striped shirt at the waist but didn’t button it up. I like that you can see the navy shell underneath. The white jeans I am wearing are by NYDJ. The Ankle Jeans fit great, and I love the length of them. You can wear them with heels, flats, or sandals. I paired them with a minimal pair of Bone Flip Flops.
I’ve owned this Striped Ruffle Cap Sleeve Blouse for a year or more, and it still looks fabulous. This outfit is great for celebrating the 4th of July since it contains navy and white stripes. You could add a touch of red with accessories or keep it simple.
This blouse is super cute with a feminine touch. The ruffles at the neckline and sleeves are delicate and tasteful. I’ve worn this top with jeans, skirts, and shorts, and it also looks great with khaki and olive.
Once again, I’m sharing an outfit with long sleeves. You can easily push up the sleeves for a 3/4-length look, and I’ve worn the blouse differently below.
This Long-Sleeve Woven Blouse is a tunic length, which is great for wearing with leggings. However, wearing a long top can make your legs look short. Here is a quick fix for that, and anyone can do it.
I gathered the blouse together in the center and used a hair tie to create a “ponytail.”
Then I tucked the tail into the waistband so it wouldn’t fall out. I also tucked up the back of the shirt, but you can leave it longer. I added my White Chain Link Sandals and White Round Drop Earrings to dress up the outfit and make it an elevated casual look.
The Best 4th of July Outfits For Now And Later With 7″ Denim Shorts
I chose a longer pair of shorts for my next outfits. Most of you have mentioned that you prefer longer shorts, and I like this 7″ pair. They aren’t too short or too long; they are a perfect length.
Here is another casual 4th of July outfit that can be worn in multiple ways. The white Short Sleeve Swiss Dot Blouse is very versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. If you hate tops that show your rolls, then you’ll love this flowy one. I’m wearing a large and it fits me perfectly without a lump or bump showing.
I added a touch of red with a very old pair of sneakers. I’ve had these so long that the inner sole is starting to rip. I need to order some insoles to replace them.
You might have noticed that I’m choosing items for my “base” look, and then you can add anything you want to make it more festive. This simple outfit would look cute with a 4th of July ball cap or a pair of red, white, and blue earrings. Those accessories are affordable ways to add a festive touch to any outfit.
This Sweater Vest is perfect for summer. I like the tortoise shell-style buttons, two small pockets, and wide straps.
I love no-tie sneakers! Bending over to tie my laces is a pain in the rear, so I’ve worn Sperry Crest Vibe Sneakers for years. Normally, I wear white ones, but I added this navy pair today.
This outfit, or one like it, has been my go-to this summer. I fell in love with this Linen Blend Button-Up Shirt when I bought it earlier this year. I usually prefer pullover tops and sweaters instead of button-up shirts. But this one changed my mind!
I’ve worn it buttoned like I did today, but I’ve also worn it open with a tank underneath. I also like wearing it tied at my waist and even over a swimsuit. I loved it so much I also bought the shirt in flax, but the navy one is the one I wear the most.
I know you’ve seen me wear these Statement Earrings in Gold before. They are so beautiful in person and I like how they can elevate a casual outfit like the one I’m wearing today. I’ve worn these with jeans and a T-shirt, and they looked great.
Here is another casual outfit that can be worn anytime. Add the accessory of your choice to give a festive vibe to your look.
Is there anything more versatile than a white button-up shirt? I like just wearing an Oversized Shirt with jeans during the summer. It manages to walk the line between casual and elevated casual, and it is always super cute.
I wear sneakers if I’m going to be standing for longer periods. I ordered these Vionic Mesh Sneakers, and they are so comfortable! I love white-on-white sneakers, especially in the summer, and I can easily throw them in the washer if they get dirty. These are no-tie shoes (you know I like this style), so I don’t have to be worried about bending over to tie the laces.
I thought this little stars v-neck sweater tank was the cutest thing! I don’t think I would pair them with these patterned pants, but instead, I would go for a white pair of shorts or pants. You could add a pop of red with a handbag, lip color, or earrings.
While we’re on the topic of the Fourth of July, I couldn’t leave out this classic v-neck Americana flag sweater. This is a timeless piece you can pull out year after year, plus you can wear it for Memorial and Veteran’s Day! If you live in a hot climate, you can opt for this short sleeve flag tee instead.
I hope you enjoyed all of these 4th of July outfits that you can wear now AND later. Let me know in the comments which one (or two) were your favorite.

I’M on Vaca…I’m wearing ALL WHITE!! NO GRANDKIDS ON THIS TRIP!!
Love the 4th of July outfits ❤️🤍💙
These are all great and can be worn so much! Thanks
So fun, both of you on a motorcycle 🏍️! My husband is itching to buy a new bike.! As always you look so cute and classy in all you choose to wear. I’m thankful for items that come in petite so they are more proportioned with my body. Have a great 4th. We celebrate 44 years together July 4th !
Vionic sneakers are my favorite and they are so comfortable right out of the box. They look great on you.
Love the outfits and really love your hair!🎆
My motorcycle story: my fiancé absolutely insisted that I get on the cycle with him while he zipped around the site where his sister and brother-in-law were building a house. With my future in-laws watching, he went over a mound of dirt, and I went into the mud hole on the other side. I was so angry at him! I still have not gotten over that 55 years later, and I’ve never been on a motorcycle since. Anyway, I have all the components of the first outfit and will wear that for work! Thanks!
l love them all ! They look fabulous on you. I may skip the shorts.
Cute picture of you & Joe. I can’t pick a favorite. The red sneakers are perfect. I have a patriotic tee from Love in Faith that I’m wearing to a dermatologist appointment tomorrow. When we have our neighborhood fireworks show at our lake house Friday night, I’m wearing a pair of pull on Kim Roger’s patriotic shorts with a red tshirt. Of course, I’ll have to use bug spray, but that’s okay.
I love the casual vibe on all of thse outfits, and the ways
to wear the big shirt!
Great summer looks🍉
love your red, white and blue Happy 4th🇱🇷🇱🇷
Two items on my cart thanks for the share. I love riding with my husband on the motorcycle put only get to ride Jan Feb Mar. here in Florida you ride any other months you can get heat exhaustion quick and sick to your stomach which happened to me when we rode a couple of weeks ago. Love your outdoor rug and how to tie a shirt ponytail style. Thanks!
Finally got a shirt dress army green my husband called it lol.
From Walmart and a gorgeous hot pink halter top maxi dress looks silk but not. Also a merlot T-shirt dress cute. Take care, thanks for the inspiration.
Hi, all great outfits! What pretty cross are you wearing?
Pat, here is a link: https://amzn.to/4eS6U5g
I love the blue tops.
very cute outfits. I love button down blouses. On another note , I came across some old posts from 2015 and 2016. It was interesting to see how style has changed in the last 8-9 years. while some clothing is timeless, other items are not!!!
I like the red, white and blue options. Somehow I find it disrespectful to “wear” the American flag. Great options!
the long sleeved woven blouse and the red shoes, and the navy blue shirt, and the white shirt! I love all these outfits.
you are so lucky riding the motorcycle I love to ride motorcycles, but my son is working all the time and hasn’t got time to give me a treat!
Tania, these are some good ideas. I really like the woven tunic top.
Also again thank you for the Amazon gift certificate.
I’m glad you got the card just in time for Amazon Prime Days!
Love the red sneaks!
I love the V- neck sweater. Actually, I think I’d wear everything in this post. Love your hair here as well! Have a blessed day!
I really like the patriotic top for the 4th’s celebration! How cute! Vi
I just ordered the blue and white pinstripe ruffle blouse. It’s so cute and a great price on Amazon. Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸
Happy 4th. I am enjoying seeing all the clothes and tips on how to wear them. It has helped me with making decisions on how to wear a lot of clothes I already own and make them look stylish.
I have always liked the look of a button up shirt tied at the waist with a contrast tank underneath. Cute looks!!
Red, white and blue are my favorites to wear. Love the ideas given.
Thanks
Thanks for the idea of the “ponytail”. You are so creative! I like the idea of neutral outfits for the 4th, that you can just add simple items to make them festive. I could never think of these things on my own. You are inspiring. I really like the v-neck stars & stripes sweater.
Wow! You know how to make a gurl feel good!
I love my big white shirt, too. Thanks for the pony tail trop!!
Cute photo & nice classy looks
I wish my husband would ride a motorcycle
We used to ride around on dirt bike 🤣
I’m glad you had fun !
I’m surprised there were no red tops. I normally will wear a red tee with denim or navy shorts. If I wear a white tee I accessorize with red.
Terri, I don’t have many red tops. At least none that are the right color.
You shared some really cute outfits. The Americana flag sweater makes quite a statement.
I know! I’ll probably wear that on the 4th after it gets cooler.
Love, love, love the red sneakers. They looks so chic.
Awwwww you guys look so cute!!!!
Perfect 4th and beyond outfits.
We’ve been going to a 4th of July party at a friend’s house for 27 years now. They live on a lake and the firework display is fantastic. I always wear blue and white. I’m thinking of switching it to red and white one of these times.
It’s harder to find a red summer top though.
Thank you for showing us wonderful outfits, etc! Happy 4th to you and your family!
Fun and classic outfits for holiday, Have a Happy 4th!
So many wonderful outfits!!! I definitely added a few to my Amazon cart!!! Have a blessed day!!!
My husband has a motorcycle too. We usually go for short rides when the weather is mild but helmet hair isn’t a great look, lol, so nowhere I want to look my best. I love the dot Swiss outfit! So very cute. The oversized white shirt is my second favorite. I love how versatile they both can be and easy to make look patriotic! And thanks for the tip on making a ponytail to tuck into your waistband. Much better than just trying to tuck in and hope it stays!
The ponytail trick is so easy to do.
Great post today. I like your suggestion to wear something for the 4th that you can wear later.
Maybe I should have called it normal outfits you can wear for the 4th.
I love it all! The white jeans look fabulous! Happy Monday!!!
Love the outfit suggestions for July 4th! Have a blessed week.
Love denim as part of red, white and blue. It just seems right.
I loved your Sunday Sales post! I am having trouble finding the right fits for me these days now that I am well into my 60s. I am short and pair shape. I’m not overweight just have my weight in my hips, and stomach. The white bottoms make me look bigger so I look best in navy or black pants, shorts, skirts. They are hard to find and don’t look as pretty as white. I like my shirts to not be long but to cover my stomach and not cling. Same for dresses. I don’t know if I should try arm makeup but my arms are flabby bat wings so I try to cover them. The styles nowadays are not flattering everything is so boxy for shorter people. I was talking to the ladies at church and they all agreed with me. Would you have any advice for us?
Thanks for the 4th of July post. I really love the styles. Happy Summer!!
