Talbot’s Try On Haul With Spring Styles On My Mind
I travel to visit my parents every five or six weeks. My son and his family live in the same time county, and my DIL is my hairdresser. I love coming in for a long weekend, and I always make a pitstop along the way to do a try on haul. Usually, I go into two stores before I continue on my trip. However, this time, Talbot’s had so many gorgeous styles perfect for spring that I ended up only going to one store.
Ruffle Top Perfect For Spring
I LOVE this Ruffle Top! The color is gorgeous, and the ruffles add a feminine touch without looking girlie. The medallion print is chic, and the blouse has a straight hem and hits at the hip. You can dress the top up with a blazer or skirt, or wear it with jeans like I have here.
The Flare Pull-On Travel Jeans are comfy and perfect for traveling as well as running around town. I love the trouser style look, and these jeans have a dressy vibe to them. I’m wearing a medium, and I had to shimmy to get them over my hips, but they fit perfectly once they were completely on.
Mulberry Wine Trimmed With Navy
This Sweater Jacket caught my eye from across the room. I think this Mulberry Wine color needs to be in my closet, and I especially love it paired with the Wide Ankle Twill Pants. The sweater jacket has mesh holes, so I added a navy Long Sleeve Tee underneath, matching the cuffs and neckline trim.
Jeans are usually what I wear, but I’m trying to start including chinos and pants in my everyday outfits. This pair of Wide Ankle Twill Pants can easily be styled for an elevated casual look.
Spring Florals – Embroidered Top
When I think of spring fashion, I think of florals and stripes. I realize Mother Nature has not been playing very nicely; it has even snowed in Texas and Florida. 🥶️ This floral top with embroidered sleeves and placket can’t control the temperature, but it will lift your spirits.
I paired the top with the light ecru Mid Rise Stovepipe Jeans to bring out the embroidery of the top. The stovepipe jeans aren’t overly wide and look great with loafers, sneakers, heels, or flats.
Spirit Lifting Ombré Sweater
It is impossible to look at this Ombré Cotton Sweater without smiling. I love the way each color fades into the next. I layered the sweater with a versatile Denim Button Front Shirt. The denim shirt and jeans look fine by themselves, but the sweater adds some pizzazz.
These are the same jeans I styled in the outfit above, and I’m wearing a size 8 which fit me great.
Oversized Floral Prints for Spring
This was the biggest surprise of my try on haul. I liked the print but didn’t think I would like the look. By, was I wrong! This, and the first two mulberry wine tops, were my favorites of the day. The French Terry Snap Placket Pullover is a nice weight, but it was the fit that made the top one of my favorites. The snap placket and the kangaroo pocket are two details that I love.
The Slim Straight Ankle Jeans are a classic style that is never trending but is always stylish. These jeans look great with everything, and a very versatile. My usual size 8 fits me perfectly.
Neutrals For Spring
The AirKnit Stretch Mockneck Sweater Jacket is a nice weight, and it reminds me of the SPANX Air Essentials fabric. It is very comfy and feels amazing against your skin. The ribbed neckline and arms are slightly darker than the body of the jacket. It has a belt, but you can choose whether to tie the jacket or take it off.
The Everyday Relaxed Jeans feel like boyfriend jeans. They have a relaxed fit but don’t look or feel baggy. I have them cuffed so you can see the look, but they can also be rolled down. I’m wearing my usual size 8.
Modern Looking Denim Jacket
One way to be modern-looking is by adding updated classics to your wardrobe. A denim jacket is a classic item that I wear all the time. It isn’t trendy, but it is always in style. The Collarless Jean Jacket with fringed edges is a more youthful and modern style of denim jacket.
I layered with the navy/white striped top which can be worn two ways. It is a scoop or a v-neck, depending on how you wear it.
The beige Wide Ankle Twill Pants are a great neutral that is so versatile. You’ll be wearing these all spring and summer, and they can be dressed up or down. I think these pants are casual, but slightly dressier than jeans. These are a great alternative for those who can’t wear jeans to work, but still want a casual and comfortable outfit.
Textures for Spring
The only thing I changed in this outfit is the Textured Polo Cardigan. I love the bumpy texture and the large buttons, which add visual interest to the look. I wore the cardigan open over the striped tank, but you could wear it buttoned as a top if you wanted.
