SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLE

50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEThe weekend is here and I am ready to kick back and relax. Well, actually I might have started that process a little early since I played hooky from work yesterday. It snowed just a tiny bit but I thought, “what the heck? I don’t have anything that I HAVE to do,” so I called in and said, “call me if you need me.” After that, I went and put on some lounging pants and my thick furry shoes and played on the computer all day. I did manage to clean the kitchen up a bit but other, than that I was pretty useless. Lol! What do you do when you don’t go out to work every day?50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEI am pretty sure there must be a learning curve to this whole stay at home thing. My rear is sore and my legs are falling asleep from sitting in my chair so long. I think that after I got caught up in doing all of the things that I have been putting off that I might start on cleaning, clearing, rearranging, and redecorating my house. If I start now on my “to do” list for the computer then maybe I might be ready to start on my house by May. Lol! Don’t even get me started on the outside of the house. I see pictures of these gorgeous kitchens on Facebook and then I look at my kitchen table which is covered with all of my books, journals, appointment books, and my laptop. Not a picture that I really want to put on Facebook.  50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLE Whoops, looks like I forgot to also mention the pita chip bag. Lol! Joe can’t even sit down to eat until I move some of my “stuff” for him to sit down. Hahaha!
50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEFirst off, this is not purple so I have no idea why my pictures tend to go to that hue. It is a blue with maybe a hint of purple but not very much. Also, I do have an undergarment on under the shirt for those who might be worried about their bra showing. I am pretty sure that I do not have to tell you what the unique detail is on this sweatshirt. I have noticed that I have been drawn to sweatshirts and casual style clothing lately. I don’t know if it is a phase or if I am in training for retirement. Lol! There is a little boutique in a neighboring town that I occasionally purchase things from. I have been trying not to buy things from stores that you can’t buy from but she has a website so I knew that you would all be able to order from her. I bought this top and I wore it when I was in Georgia last weekend but the pictures were too dark to show so I decided to wear it again. BUT, in the meantime….the top sold out. I swear, I can’t win for losing. So for all of you gurls who think that just because you like wearing a sweatshirt or being comfortable that you can’t still look nice and fashionable, think again.

50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEYou can tell that I am starting to think about spring by my jewelry selection today. These colors are brighter and happier than some of the colors that I have been wearing lately. The Mitali necklace is so fun and colorful and I am sure that you will find lots of items that you will be able to wear with this. I chose to add the Mandy earrings to match the necklace. I liked the pop of yellow against the faded navy sweatshirt. And for a bracelet, I went with the magnetic, boho-inspired, Corey. You can see all the beautiful colors and the mustard colored tassel in this picture. Are there any of you who like pearls??? Then you are going to LOVE this months Plunder Posse This is 47 inches long so you can choose to wear it as a longer style necklace. Or you can choose to tie the ribbon and make the necklace as short as you need. The pearl drop earrings also come with this set. The Plunder Posse is a subscription service that is 25.00 monthly. It is free to join and there is no penalty for canceling. Each month (on the date of your first order) they will send you that current months Posse. If you see the jewelry but you do not wish to purchase that months look then you simply cancel and then re-enroll the next time you see a set that you like. BUT, before you sign up under me, Plunder is looking for new stylists and they are offering you a deal that is very hard to refuse.  Join Plunder in February and receive an extra 12 pieces of jewelry!!! 50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEI groaned when I saw these pictures. You all were not fans of my wine boots the last time I wore them and here I am wearing the caramel ones in basically the same look. The pants and boots are not the same color but they are in the same color family. That is why I think they work but you might have a different opinion. Anyway, I wore these Isaac Mizrahi suede boots and no one’s eyes were injured in the process. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLEI chose to wear the camel colored Rockstar jeans from Old Navy for a couple of reasons. One, they are comfortable. Two, blue and browns are a color combination that I like. Three, I thought it would show the sweatshirt better. I have put this on with denim jeans and it looks great but you can’t see the hemline of the sweatshirt as well. Since I wanted you to be able to see how the shirt was made (before I knew that they were sold out) I picked a contrasting color. 50 IS NOT OLD | SWEATSHIRT WITH STYLESo how are you spending your Saturday? I have a few phone calls scheduled for later today to talk to some ladies about Rodan + Fields but I do have a couple hours free if anyone wants to message me and set up a time we can talk. I love talking with you ladies, it is so much fun to get to know you. Texting and messaging is nice but I love it when I can hear your voice. If I am bored I might start using messenger on FaceBook and “facetime” with you. You better put your makeup on. I may be calling. Lol!

Also, please comment below a story or experience you or someone you know has had concerning heart disease. Your story might save someone’s life. I will give away this beautiful heart bracelet from Plunder on Monday to someone who comments.50 IS NOT OLD | NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY

I take my health for granted. In my late 30s I had high blood pressure, but I was not given medication. I lost a few pounds and the blood pressure normalized. By not caring for myself I continued work, dating and stressing myself unnecessarily. I started getting blasting headaches and self medicated with ibuprophen and diet coke. People at work were noticing my irritability, and I was very “on edge” and “stressed out”. One morning driving to work my intense headache started. Then I lost vision in my left eye and had a howling sound in my ears. ( I don’t know how I made it to work!) At work a Dr. met me in my office to check me out (I was a Department Administrator at a Hospital). My blood pressure was off the charts! Immediately, I was taken to the Emergency Room and worked up for a Heart Attack, Stroke, Aneurysm or Possible Brain Tumor. I felt like I was having an “out-of-body” experience.
I was admitted to the hospital for a couple of days. The blood pressure stabilized and I began taking medications. I was lucky. Please Ladies learn from my experience, and do not take your health for granted. Love yourself, listen to your body. Keep a good healthy lifestyle. Make sure you practice spirituality, and get into psychotherapy if you need help navigating your life. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST !! LIFE IS A PRECIOUS GIFT !! HAVE FUN & ENJOY EVERYDAY !! AND SHARE YOUR LOVE. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. GOD IS GREAT!!!!

  4. My heart journey started 22 years ago. At 49 I started getting tired and seemed to put on a lot of extra weight. One day I was all dressed to go to the mall with the family and as I got out of the car I just couldn’t do it. Went home made an appointment with Doctor. That was the start of my journey with heart failure. My Doctor said always listen to your body. That sounds like something everyone should do.

  5. I love this outfit! The sweatshirt is adorable, the pants and booties ramp it up to look more than casual. The color combination is a win. You look great! Hope to see more looks like this.

I am new to your blog but I just wanted you to know that I am enjoying it very much! i am recently retired from years of nursing and oddly enough, just a little unsettled sitting at home doing nothing. I am using this time to catch up on some much needed exercise ( heart disease runs in my family, so wear red is a wonderful reminder for me ) and updating my wardrobe! I would love to know how you got started blogging and doing what you do….please share!

  8. Do not fret over your kitchen table or counters. We have all have clutter, some days more than others.
Those beautiful kitchens you see in pictures were staged to look amazing for the sake of the picture.
Normal homes that are lived in and loved can be messy. Bet your table looks great by the time meal time arrives.

  9. I love the lighter brighter jewelry choices today! I too am thinking spring in very cold weather!! Love your casual outfit. I haven’t played hooked in two years but when I do I usually shop!!!!!! Best…. Kathy

  10. Cute sweatshirt. It’s funny that we want a day off from work but when we get it we are not sure what to do with it. I will be spending my Saturday catching up on laundry and dishes. If I feel up to it, maybe preppping some snacks for the big game tomorrow night (go Pats!). And finally recouping from surgery.
