STYLING SHADES OF GRAY

Today was one of those days where you feel like you run around with your head on fire. My hair appointment is what sent everything out of whack since that is not part of my normal day. I know all of you can understand and sympathize with me about that. I was tickled to have an appointment because I was afraid the “blonde police” was going to come and arrest me any day now. I was showing Joe this morning how bad my hair was looking.After my hair appointment, I was lucky enough to get to watch Emersyn and Beckham for a couple of hours. Emersyn was her normal chatty self and Beckham is almost too good to be true. I have never seen a baby that was this good. He smiles if he sees you looking at him and giggles out loud if you tickle his belly. He hardly ever cries, just when he is hungry or if you are trying to get him to burp. He is not a fan of that. Lol! Just wait until he is around 5 or 6 and THEN he will find burping to be fascinating. Then ran to make a 6:00 phone call with a new consultant and I had a 9:00 and a 9:30 call later on that night. I am beginning to see why some of you listed “busy” as one of my descriptive words. Hahaha!Let’s go on to today’s outfit. How many shades of gray do you see? This is a monotone outfit to the nth degree. When I started this look I had no idea I would end up with so many different shades of gray but I liked the result. Let’s start with the sleeveless top from Ann Taylor. I like this top because it is sleeveless and therefore will not have any bulk under my cardigan and I like that it is in a peplum style. I know you can’t see this because of the cardigan but it makes me look thinner and that is always a goal of mine.

The fringe scarf is taking center stage on the accessory level. I thought that the scarf popped against all the gray better than a necklace. You all know I am not a fan of infinity scarves because they bunch and make my face look even rounder than it already is. However, this type scarf is the exception because of the fringe dangles. Those bring your eye down and helps to elongate your face. This was c/o Purple Poppy from the last shipment she sent me. I have on the Elliott earrings with this look. They are made with small seed pearls like the Evie and the Lucinda bracelets. The purse I decided to carry is a cross-body purse that I bought at TJ Maxx last year. I don’t carry a cross-body often because I like a bigger purse but occasionally they come in handy. This one is very pale gray and it is just big enough to hold my wallet and my phone. Lol!


I love a long cardigan, that is my favorite length. I am 5’6″ tall and I know that some of you who are not as tall might have a harder time with the long looks. You need to adjust to what looks best on you. On me, I like the longer styles because they make me look tall and lean. This one doesn’t have any buttons and doesn’t fasten in any way. I picked this one up at Old Navy and I have several others that are different colors and just slightly different styles.
