50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40I have been talking about how much rain we have been experiencing in the past month. It seems like it has rained non-stop, and because of that, I haven’t been able to get anything cleaned up around the patio and pool area. I hadn’t bought one single flower or plant, and my house was looking drab. I used to plant huge gardens of flowers, but when we installed the pool, most of my flower beds were destroyed. Joe was thrilled, but I was not. I think that he got tired of seeing my rear sticking up in the air every day while I was weeding or planting. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40Instead of having a beautiful flower bed, I have been relegated to having a few container pots to bring some color to my backyard. The problem is, I like planting, but I don’t like watering. Most of you are probably already aware of this fact, but container plants take a lot more water than in-ground plants. I have tried putting a baby diaper in the pot to hold moisture, adding those moisture beads, and a few other things, but nothing seems to keep the plants from needing to be watered daily. Anyway, I did manage to buy a few ferns over the weekend, and a couple of container pots. Now, I am crossing my fingers that the weather will clear up so I can sit outside and enjoy all of my hard labor. I am open to any suggestions that you ladies might have on how I can keep from having to water every day.
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40I bet this top immediately caught your eye! When I pulled it out of the bag, I did a happy dance. I love the bright paisley tunic; it is so lightweight and sheer. One of the great things about the top is that it comes with the white camisole. Two interior shoulder snaps will secure the included jersey-knit cami. The chiffon tunic is made of 100% polyester, and it is recommended to hand wash. I am wearing a medium, and you can see that it fits great. Here is the link to the top and cami.
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40Since the top is so colorful, I limited my jewelry to only one necklace and a pair of gold hoop earrings. My necklace is the Stormy necklace that I have worn a bunch this year. It has a single monogrammed initial, and I chose an S for Stephens. I like how it fills the void between the cami and my neck. The large gold textured hoop earrings are the Dallin. I think that I have worn these as many times as I have the Stormy. These two are definitely a favorite of mine.
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40I am starting to be a creature of habit. I have been wearing these cute white flip flops ever since I bought them. I love the shiny white vinyl, and how they have a gold edge around the sole. I do wish they had more padding in the footbed, but that isn’t stopping me from wearing them. Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40I know how you like to see the length of an item from the backside, so here you go…enjoy. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40I love wearing white pants in the summer. I could probably wear white every day in the summer, and never get tired. It is so versatile, and it can be worn with pretty much everything. I have long pants, as well as ankle, crop, palazzo, shorts, capris, etc. in white. If you don’t already own a pair of white pants, then do yourself a favor and check out the ones below.

50 IS NOT OLD | STYLING A PAISLEY TUNIC WITH WHITE PANTS | FASHION OVER 40Remember, if you have any suggestions for ways to keep from having to water my plants daily, let me know. I was wondering if any of you are willing to help me out? I am looking at using an app to help me with my R+F business. It does a lot of the sending of information for me, and it would save me quite a bit of time. But, it cost 14.95 per month, and I am trying to decide if the app is worth the money. It has two areas that it concentrates on, the business and the products. If any of you are willing to be entered into either of these areas, I would appreciate your help. You will receive an email periodically, giving you some information to read or maybe a short video to watch. I am trying the app for at least a month, so message me your email and the area that you would like to be entered in if you are willing to help out. My email is fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

I water my ferns very slowly (almost a trickle) until water comes out of the bottom. This helps get water throughout. I only have to water 2-3 times a week. Mine are hanging under a covered porch.

SO cute outfit! Beautiful top! And thx for always giving us the links for the clothes! By the way, I cant believe you have to water everyday in VA.! Just imagine if you lived here in dry, 100 degree windy NM!! I do water everyday and mist them too.

  3. The tunic caught my eye as soon as I opened your blog post today. Beautiful is all I can say. And having the built in cami is a plus. I have same problem with my potted plants so I bought some self-watering hanging baskets for my front porch. (They have regular pots too). They seem to do just that. You fill them up and don’t have to water as often. When you do water you add the water into a small spout in the side of pot that fills the reservoir. My porch faces west and the evening sun takes a toll on my hanging baskets and this has saved many flowers and a lot of money from being tossed. I got mine from Gardner’s Supply magazine.

    1. Ditto on the comments from Sandals and Saturdays et al about no longer saying where the item is from. It’s click bait, I know, and that you get some form of compensation for the amount of clicks but isn’t really conducive to a smooth transition from reading to looking and browsing. The old way was better…just sayin. Stay true to the essence of your blog and don’t let it become just another online catalog!! You have so much more to offer than just that and we, your loyal readers and followers appreciate that about you!

      1. Pauli, while I appreciate you and Beth taking the time to leave a comment, I do NOT receive compensation just because you click on the item. There is NO click bait going on! I simply linked to the item to save you the time of going to a store and spending time looking around for an item that can be hard to find. As far as saying the store instead of a link, I didn’t see the difference. If you click on the link, it takes you to the store. Lol!

    2. I used to have some of those pots, I wonder what happened to them. Hmmmm.

  4. My husband set up an automatic watering system for me with a timer on the outdoor faucet and some of those little black tubes. They are not very expensive or hard to install – worth every penny!! I start it coming on for 2 minutes a day in the spring and then have it come on 2 minutes morning and afternoon once the weather gets really hot.
