STEPPING OUT ON THE TOWN
I have had a blast out in Las Vegas. To tell you he truth, I have never had the desire to visit Las Vegas, and if there hadn’t been a Rodan and Fields Convention, I probably would not have ever come. But, it has been fun and very tiring. The flapper look was for a Great Gatsby party that I attended on Friday night. Fizz’s Champagne bar at Caesar’s Palace was closed just for our private party. It was over the top, crazy, fun???
Our first night here, we went to a private party at Mandalay Bay. This was a party that was hosted by some of our upline’s in the company. We had about 30 ladies attend, and it was so interesting to hear all about their journey. Everyone has their own story to tell, and their own motivation for being involved with Rodan and Fields. I wore a dress that I have had for several years; you can’t really tell from the photo, but it is has cold shoulders. Because I am writing the post from an IPad, I am unable to add links to sites, but if you have something specific you are interested in, send me an email, and I will try to link you up on Tuesday, after I catch my breath. I can tell you that the Art Deco necklace is by Stella and Dot.
We stopped at a little outdoor cafe at the Venetian. Great food, but they no longer serve the hot potato salad that we went for. Lol! The Tuscan Tea, however made up for my disappointment. After our lunch, we went for a gondola ride, which was pretty cool.
This is the ceiling in the Bellagio, it is all made of glass and is very colorful.
This was the “talking” tree in the conservatory. There were some gorgeous floral arrangements and some beautiful displays.
These humongous pumpkins really caught my eye. The largest pumpkin weighed in at 941 pounds!!! That is just crazy!
Probably the coolest thing we did while we were here, was taking a 3 hour limo tour. We went to see the volcano eruption at the Mirage, and that was very sweet. You could feel the heat from the eruption on your face. Then we made our way over to see the fountain show at the Bellagio. Gorgeous❤️❤️❤️. We were dropped off at Freemont Street and this was where my mouth dropped open. It was totally wild and crazy. I expected scantily clad women, but not topless women. My, my, my!
This is what I wore on the limo ride. I have had this little Python print dress for years, but I have never had an occasion to wear it. The bright red Bakelite necklace popped off of the print.
No trip to Las Vegas would be complete without going to the famous sign. This was some of the women I stayed with in Las Vegas. From left to right is, me, Krissie, Karen, Leigh Ann, Ashley, and Caitlyn. There were two more, Beth and Caroline, that went to another function.
This whole trip was so much out of my comfort zone. Flying, staying on the 37th floor (I hate heights), rooming with 6 women I had never met before, and being 20 years older than all of them, we’re all challenges I had to face. You know what, I did it! I grew as a person, and I loved it?
My mantra has always been, Age is an Attitude, Keep Yours Young but for some reason I only wanted to apply that to my fashion, not my life. This weekend I applied it to my life. I am so glad that Joe encouraged me to go and gave me the push I needed.

If you thought that going to Las Vegas was great, just look at my next Rodan and Fields adventure – glamour day filled with pampering by a message therapist, makeup artist, hairstylist, and a professional photo shoot. This costs me NOTHING! You look absolutely fabulous in these pictures. I’ve been working quite a bit, so haven’t had a chance to send many messages. I’m glad you had a great time.
So glad your time in Vegas has been enjoyable and you learned a positive about yourself, to stay young at heart, not just your dress! I was hesitant when we went (southern baptist upbringing) but I plowed thru…haha. I have several friends I’d like to share your blog with . If I can’t figure it out, I’ll let you know! Your pics were gorgeous , I can actually see the difference R&D has made. Your skin is glowing. Robin
Thanks Robin? I was like you, I never had a “want” to go to Las Vegas, but it was a lot of fun with all the girls. I love being shared! LOL!!!
So glad you enjoyed your visit to Vegas. I’ve been to Freemont Street many times and have never seen what you did. It is a fun place to people watch. Vegas has much to offer other than the strip. I remember the first time I visited and it was like another world. Never thougt I’d live here. I’ve been here nine years and never run out of new things to see and experience.
I have just starting following you. I lie in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I really connect with your style sense.
Love the black dress… you look fabulous!! Sounds like Vegas lived up to its reputation. So glad that you had a great time.
