50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZYRedbud winter! Have you heard of that before? Whenever the Redbud trees are blooming we always seem to have a cold spell. You may not have Redbud trees where you are from but they bloom the most gorgeous light reddish-purple bloom. I can remember as a child thinking they should be called Purplebud trees. Lol! For those who have never seen one if full bloom here is a photo for you.50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZYI should have put the picture of the Redbud on my blog post yesterday. It would have matched my cropped wrap perfectly. I want to tell you about my friend JoBeth. She is such a wonderful person, momma, friend, clubwoman, and an unbelievably talented writer. This month is Autism Awareness Month and this is near and dear to her heart because her son Josh is autistic. JoBeth wrote an article about coming to grips with this knowledge and shared it with GFWC, (General Federation of Women’s Clubs) I am so proud of JoBeth and all she does to bring awareness and understanding to Autism. I am doing a very small part by selling an Autism necklace and 20% of the proceeds are going to the GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club. (approx. 5.60 per purchase) These necklaces can be purchased by going here and picking which item you want. The necklaces come in silver and a burnished gold color and sell for around 28.00. These are the “personalized necklaces” so you purchase the necklace first then email me. I will send you the picture you want and then give you the directions on how to personalize the pendant. The one design cut off a little, it says accept understand love. 50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZY This is quite a contrast from yesterday when I was in hot pink. I really like this fringed poncho but the dark mocha is a little depressing. So to “brighten” the look, I decided to wear a light color top under the poncho. This poncho is super soft and comfortable. The fringe is the unique detail in case you were wondering. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZY I shortened my BELIEVE necklace for this look. I simply made the clasp grab a different section of the chain and tucked the overflow down into the poncho. No one is the wiser, except all of you. Haha! I bought this necklace over a year ago at a tea shop on the Marietta square. You can find some items by this company here. You can’t see my earrings very good but they are called Camie. I like them because they are that oil rubbed bronze color that matches a lot of my Plunder jewelry. I think they refer to it as burnished gold. Whichever, it doesn’t matter to me. 50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZY Calling all teachers, nurses, or anyone else who has to wear a lanyard. The Noah necklace is perfect for you! My daughter works in a government office where she has to wear a lanyard and she LOVES this one. It looks so much nicer than the normal types. I added the charm, it doesn’t come with one. I bought this in Marietta at the same place as the BELIEVE necklace and they are by the same company. The both of my bracelets are now retired. I am afraid you will be hearing me say that a lot for a while. I am going to be placing an order tonight for new jewelry but it will take about a week or so until I get it in. The new Spring line is now on the website and you can place an order. If you want a catalog mailed to you send me your address to fiftyisnotold@gmail.com  50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZY I do love my dark teal Dooney & Bourke satchel. I looked and looked at it before I finally broke down and bought it. I love nice things but I hate “paying” for nice things. Finally, I decided that I was going to let Rodan + Fields buy it for me. When I got my paycheck the last time this was a purchase I made from a small amount of the proceeds.

50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZY The jeans are Vigoss Dublin stretch denim boot cut. The neat thing about these jeans is the weight of the fabric, the dark color, and the contrast white stitching. A darker denim jean looks dressier than a light colored pair. These are a premium denim which means they will last for a while and boot cut shouldn’t go out of style anytime soon.
50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZYMy striped button-up shirt is one that I bought at Van Heusen a couple years ago. I like this shirt because it is “no-iron.” That is my very favorite type shirt. I hate getting the iron out and ironing because by the time I make it to work it looks wrinkled again. I used to spend all day on Saturdays ironing mine and Joe’s clothes until he told me to stop. He said that they were getting wrinkled in the closet (because I have them jammed in there) and why was I wasting my time. I love that man! ❤️

50 IS NOT OLD | SPRING WEATHER IS CRAZYI am actively trying to grow my Plunder and Rodan and Fields teams. I am thinking April is going to be the month for big things. Plunder is launching a new Spring line. It is now “live!!!” If you would like to try any of the new jewelry then go to my party to place the order. If you are interested in finding out about all the wonderful advantages to being on my Plunder team just let me know. I am offering an extra piece of jewelry for all those who join Team Shimmer and Shine this month!!!

Rodan and Fields are also moving and shaking. They have a Spring Renewal Gift Set that is while supplies last. A perfect gift for Mother’s Day, Graduation, Birthday’s, etc. BUT, the really big announcements are still coming!!! A new product, one that will work for every regimen. This product has already hit the magazines as the product you “must” have. I am anxiously waiting, all I know is it has to do with Hydration. For a person who has skin like the Saraha Desert, this is a much-welcomed product. THEN, in May on my BIRTHDAY, Rodan and Fields is launching into Australia! I am so excited for Tracey and Valerie who have opted to join my team in Australia. I think big things are going to happen for them. It is not too late to join me if you live in Australia. The pre-enrollment is free and you still have time for training. If anyone joins my team in April, (US, Canada, or Australia) I will gift you a FREE Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream, aka ? “eye crack!” ?(must join with a business kit)

  1. Very cute! My clothes are jammed in my closet so I iron my outfit the night before or a few outfits a couple of times a week. I have little boys (4 and 1 1/2) so I iron when I can!

Hi Tania, I live in West Virginia so I sure know Redbud trees. I love them! I get so excited when they start blooming. I absolutely love the color and style of the poncho. The blouse is perfect under it. Love your blog. Can’t wait to see your outfit each day.

Typo on my name…lol. Lory (not glory)

  3. I had never heard of ‘redbud winters’. And, I grew up with a Redbud in my backyard and now have 3 in my yard. There’s something about the tree that I’ve always loved. Great outfit! And I agree with the commenter above asking for a tutorial on how you fix your hair. Blessings…

  4. Hello Tania. We used to live in Fairfax and Hampton, Virginia and loved our redbud trees. We passed through your neck of the woods last weekend driving from NC to MA and admired the redbuds along the way. Decided last week to move to Charlotte and I know how beautiful spring is down there. Enjoy your blog daily!

  5. Hi Tania! I love reading your blog and learning about your family and where you a from! It’s so interesting!!And your faith blogs on Sunday are fabulous! While I like this outfit, especially your bag and jewelry, I can see wearing this more in the fall. Your hair is beautiful and if you’ve never did a blog on how you style it, I’d be interested in knowing! God bless!

  6. Crazy weather here too. 40 degrees one day and 80 degrees the next! Love the outfit. It inspired me to wear a vintage poncho that was my godmother’s. Navy and cream with yarn fringe. It even has those crazy pompoms on the end of the front ties. Fun fun….and most of all made me smile all day thinking of my Aunt Louise.

  7. Love your Dooney and Bourke bag….please share where you purchased. It is stunning.

    1. Debbie, I bought mine at the overstock store in town. They purchase overstock merchandise from QVC and only get a small quantity of each item.

      1. Thank you Tania for your quick reply. You are a classy lady….and gorgeous!! Sadly when your response said you purchased the D/B bag in town, I know my search begins…across the northern border. I reside in Alberta Canada. However I am hopeful to find the stunning D/B bag in Edmonton. Thanks again Gorgeous!

      2. Sadly my town is not near your town. I am north of you….in Alberta Canada. Still hopeful to find the bag near my town though. You are a classy gal…and drop dead gorgeous!

        1. OOops…and I am not very patient with email/blog response time. Lord, teach me patience.

Tania, you are an inspiration to women over 50. I find that we have the same fashion style. I look forward to your blog everday. I get many new ideas from your blogs to my own wardrobe. My husband always gives me a little trouble about my spending on new clothes and I tell him that I saw it on my fashion blog. I tell him that I have to look good because you never know I may start my own blog. Lol! I would love for you to do a couple of blogs on maxi skirts. I bought 2 and need more ideas. Thanks you for sharing your fashion style and your life with us. You always look great!

    1. The husbands just don’t understand, Kimberly. I have been training for my blog for years. Lol!!! I do have a few maxi skirts but they are mostly summer skirts. I think I have one upcoming in next weeks posts so be sure to check back.
