Gurls, Walmart has truly stepped up its game this season! My daughter-in-law, Stephanie, found some incredible pieces that look and feel way more expensive than they are. Since Stephanie is 5’3” and usually wears an XS or S, this is the perfect guide for my petite ladies looking for a great fit.

The Nautical Knit Set & Scallop Hem Jeans

This striped sweater set is made from a super-soft knit that’s perfect for those transitional spring days. It’s a “twin set” style with a sleeveless tank underneath and a matching button-front cardigan on top. The pieces are sold separately, so you can mix and match them! Stephanie is wearing a size Small and says it runs true to size. She paired them with cream-colored, straight-leg jeans that hit right at the ankle, a perfect fit for a petite frame. The star of the show is that gorgeous laser-cut scallop hem!

  • Sizing Tip: Stephanie is in a size 2 in these jeans (she normally wears a 4). They were a bit tight in the legs, so she recommends staying with your normal size for the best fit.

It’s a “throw-on-and-go” outfit that looks instantly polished. Stephanie added a lightweight floral scarf for a pop of color.

  • Sizing Tip: Stephanie is wearing a size Small, and it provides a breezy silhouette without overwhelming her petite frame.

Preppy Cardigan & Pleated Skirt

This look screams spring brunch! This short-sleeve cardigan has elegant gold buttons, functional pockets, and a sweet ruffle on the sleeves.

  • Sizing Tip: Stephanie chose an Extra Small in the cardigan. It fits beautifully with no gaping between the buttons, so you could easily size down. The skirt has a flat front but a fully elasticized back for comfort. She is wearing an Extra Small in the skirt, but says a Small would have worked for a bit more room.

Scalloped Polo & Embroidered Barrel Jeans

This light yellow polo sweater is a high-quality knit with delicate scalloped edges on the collar, sleeves, and hem. The jeans are a “Barrel Leg” style, a huge trend right now, but these are very wearable and not overly dramatic. They feature the most darling embroidered flowers scattered throughout.

  • Sizing Tip: She is wearing an Extra Small in the top and a size 2 in the jeans. Both fit her spot-on!

The “Surprise Favorite” Striped Blouse

This was the one I thought I’d like the least, but it turned out to be the best! This blue and white striped blouse has a dramatic ruffle collar with a coordinating blue ribbon bow. It’s a lightweight cotton, perfect for sleeve coverage without the heat.

  • Sizing Tip: Stephanie is in an Extra Small. The sleeves have a touch of elastic at the wrist for a lovely shape, and the length is perfect for wearing tucked or untucked.

The Pink Pinstripe “Barn” Jacket

I’m not usually a fan of barn coats, but the feminine vibe of this pink one won me over! It’s a soft pink denim with subtle pinstripes and a matching pink corduroy collar. It features silver buttons and a slightly cropped fit, which is fantastic for petites.

  • Fit Tip: It’s the ideal weight to layer over a simple tee or a spring dress. It hit Stephanie at a great spot on the hip, so it doesn’t look boxy.
