Simple weekend styles for women over 50 are my specialty. I’m not talking about a T-shirt and a pair of raggedy shorts because I know that you can do better than that. I’m talking about a simple outfit that is great for running errands, having lunch with a friend, or visiting with loved ones.
Keeping Weekend Styles For Women Over 50 Casual Looking
More times than not, I’m dressed for comfort. I hate tugging and pulling at an item, so I look for clothing I will enjoy wearing. Fashion also plays a huge part in my wardrobe, and it can be a balancing act to find comfortable AND fashionable clothing.
Some weekends might find you walking along a beach with the wind whipping through your hair. I like an oversized, lightweight sweater like this one for days like that.
The hoodie is such a cute detail, but I doubt I would ever raise it. Lol! The sweater is very oversized… I’m wearing a small, and it is still big on me.
I styled a pair of Seersucker Perfect Chinos yesterday, but today’s casual look calls for Seersucker crops. These crops are super cute but are a little more casual than the chinos.
I chose a pair of linen espadrilles for this look. The bow adds a small feminine touch and gives the shoes some visual interest. These espadrilles have a small heel that I think most of you could wear. You can wear these shoes with shorts, jeans or a dress, so they are very versatile. The neutral color will go with everything, so I bet you’ll often reach for these shoes.

How can such a simple outfit look so elegant? This look is exactly what I mean when I say it doesn’t take a lot of effort to look stylish and put together.
You can wear a T-shirt or a nice shell sweater like this one for the weekend. They are both tops, and neither requires you to do anything extra. So, unless you’re cleaning the house, planting flowers, or chasing after the grandchildren, why not look more polished? I love the fit and style of this shell, so I bought it in four colors!
These gingham perfect crops are a beautiful color. Gingham is a pattern that screams spring and summer, and the blue/white color combination is a great choice. You could also wear these crops with pink, green, navy, etc., but I kept it simple and elevated with the white shell.
Weekend Styles For Women Over 50 With A Classic Dress
When I think of the weekend, I usually envision sitting on the patio or shopping. However, sometimes I need to dress up a little more for church, an event, or a brunch with friends.
A classic wrap dress is a great choice when you need to dress up but still want to be comfortable. This cotton/modal dress has just a touch of spandex and is sooo comfy and flattering. I was surprised that the medium fit since I usually wear a large in dresses.
I told you that you could wear these espadrilles with a dress! The shoes look great with the dress and keep the outfit casual looking.

Don’t know my own blood type, let alone my husband’s (42 years). Or his SS#. It’s a man thing. Vive la difference. No doghouse for Joe. He’s a darling husband – as is mine! Love the seersucker pants.
Let it go w/Joe……lol……49 years this summer for me……when he does forget something its always a supermarket bouquet! I can always count on it!!!!!!! Kinda cringe when it’s daisies soaked in orange or blue food coloring but I always let it go!!!!!!🤪
I just had to comment. Don’t take offense to your husband not remembering your birthdate. I am a woman and I have already missed two of our wedding anniversaries. As hard as I try I have come to accept that my brain just isn’t wired to remember dates. My husband and I both carry lists in our wallets with all of our pertinent information in case we ever need it.
Love blue and white for summer. The seersucker pants are my favorite.
As for Joe being in the dog house? Nah. I always say, we are all married to the same man! 😂 I can forgive him since I need forgiveness too. We ladies aren’t a walk in the park.

We’ve been married almost 34 years and my husband usually remembers the big stuff (birthday, anniversary) but doesn’t know SS#s and other details bc I’ve always dealt torn all that!
I actually have very similar to all three of those first pieces: the hooded top, the pinstripe crops and the espadrilles! I’ve never thought of putting them together though so thank you for that! Now I have a new outfit.
I’m very blessed to have a husband of 39 years that remembers every important date. He also knows what I like better than me sometimes! But one of ours sons never remembers any dates. So I think it just depends.
I love your stories about Joe. I think any woman who has been married for over 20 years can relate! Just forgive him, it’s a man thing! My husband and I got married on HIS birthday and he still forgot our anniversary the first 3 years! lol
