SATURDAY MORNING COFFEE DATE WITH THE GURLS
Happy Saturday! This is my usual Saturday morning attire, and I figured that most of you were dressed in something similar. So, since so many of you read my blog with a cup of coffee, I thought that we could have a drink together this morning. I’ll give you a few minutes to grab your beverage, I’m drinking Chai tea, and then let’s talk pajamas.
What I’m wearing: leopard print kimono-sleeve robe // Sleep Tank // fold-over pants // Blue Fog fuzzy slippers
This tiny breakfast table is my normal perch as I sip my tea and look out the window. Lucy is my shadow, and she doesn’t seem to mind that I don’t have on makeup and haven’t combed my hair yet. There is a reason that you gurls call me real and authentic, what other blogger comes to you looking like this? Lol!
I love those memes that say, “I woke up like this” and you can see a full face of makeup and curled hair. Lol! Maybe they have a hairdresser and makeup artist that visits in the middle of the night instead of elves that make shoes. Anyway, today is Kentucky Derby Day, so I’ve got to get some clothes on, throw on a big hat, and go fix myself a mimosa since I am not a fan of mint juleps. lol!
Some of you have asked about my new house, and why we have moved. Actually, we haven’t moved and don’t have plans to move any time soon. We are just spending the weekends at our new house for now, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
Our house is in the flood zone and is slated to be bought out through a government program. The time frame is between 18-24 months, and we decided to go ahead and purchase a house to take advantage of the low-interest rates. Since my son and grandchildren live next door to me, their house is also slated to be purchased. Everything is in holding mode right now, and we will decide in the future which house we live in, which we sell, and where my son will end up if he also has to move.
What I’m wearing: leopard print kimono-sleeve robe // Sleep Tank // fold-over pants // Blue Fog fuzzy slippers
But, since we are spending the weekends at this house, we are slowly bringing a few things at a time instead of moving everything at once. As you can see, my coffee mug is a Christmas mug. I didn’t have any plates, cups, or silverware, so I am running to the store later today and grabbing a few things.
I guess all of you actually came to the blog looking for fashion, so let me tell you that pajamas are fashion choices also. You spend almost half of your life in bed, so torn shorts and dirty t-shirts should NOT be what you are wearing. I have to admit that I was guilty of the torn shirt and t-shirt sleepwear look, but I upped my sleepwear game years ago, and Joe is much more appreciative.
I love the Cool Nights pajamas from Soma. It took me forever to take the plunge, but I’ll never go back. I have gone through my PJ drawer and ditched anything that isn’t from Soma, and have slowly been adding to my collection. I love this cool blue set, and I also have it in black.
The leopard print kimono-sleeve robe is a gorgeous print of pastel blue, pink, and gray. I thought it was so unusual, and I love that it just matches my Blue Fog pajamas. The Sleep Tank is soft and flowy, and perfect for sleeping. I could have worn a medium, but I didn’t want it to be snug at all, so I chose the large instead. The fold-over pants are in the same material, and I am wearing a size medium in those.
You might remember seeing me wearing the Blue Fog fuzzy slippers the other day when I forgot to take them off. But, in my defense, they did match my outfit. Lol!!!
I also recently got the outfit below, and it is gorgeous!
So, who are you pulling for in the Kentucky Derby?
I just was looking at May’s Special Deals on HSN, and I’m sharing a few that caught my eye. I haven’t looked at all of them yet, but if you like the sales rack as much as I do, then be sure to check these out.

Love your blog!
Girl, dang if you don’t look gorgeous in your lovely night clothes w no make up or hair done! I might have to try those! Thanks so much for telling us about your new house purchase & staying on winds! I’d love to see a pic of the front of your new house and know what town it’s in? Have a blessed Sunday!
I have really embraced the no makeup look throughout the pandemic. Missing lipstick though! You look great with or without. Just recently signed up for your posts and am really enjoying them. As a woman of 66 it’s important to find someone who speaks to me! Thanks
Wow, LOVE those Soma pjs!
Beautiful no makeup look! That’s been my pandemic-stay-home look but I’ve been trying to make an effort lately w/eye liner & translucent powder to perk myself up 🙂 I have a pair of Soma sleep shorts (on sale), very comfy for summer!
Very interesting about living in two houses! I was going to ask, when I saw the first picture, if that was your new house. It looks really gorgeous.
And even though you don’t have make-up on and I’m appalled…hahaha, just kidding; you look beautiful, I love this “sleep ensemble!” I’m excited about trying their fabric. I have not tried Soma before.
I’m usually cold in bed, so I normally don’t wear sleeveless, but I’ll give this a try. I’ve been gradually ridding my pj drawer too. I found some wonderful, soft pjs from Koolaburra by Ugg on QVC recently. I’m imagining these Soma ones are similar. I hope so! Thanks Tania…even though I’m reading this at 5p.m. and not over “coffee with the Gurls,” it’s so enjoyable!
Yes, yes, yes for Soma! I have several of their short gowns and a couple of pj’s. Fabric does make a difference! I’ll have to check out the other blue you show! Can’t wait to see you in your Derby Hat!
Who doesn’t love a Saturday morning pajamas post?! And you’re absolutely right, Soma pajamas are the best!
I love this post! Not for the pajamas, but all the other things you mentioned. And it’s funny. I am sitting at our cabin, and this year I have decided that it’s time to stop bringing all of my old clothes up here, and to pick out some extras that I love or buy some clothes to leave up here. We do plenty of socializing up here, and it’s casual, but I want to feel as presentable as I would at home! Enjoy furnishing the new place!
You look great!!! I only wish I looked half that good in the AM!!
