50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTWhen I first started this blog I never envisioned that anyone would ever find it much less actually follow me. I really thought in the back of my mind that it would serve as a lookbook. I would be able to take pictures of my outfits and rate them on how well I liked them. I would have a visual reference for outfits I wanted to replicate and for “those” others that would never see the light of day again.50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTGuess which category this outfit would be in. This would go in the never to be replicated again pile!!! Some of the first comments I received when I first started were things like “your a real person.” I didn’t understand what that meant at first because all the bloggers are “real” people. Then it finally dawned on me what you were saying, you were saying that I am normal, I make mistakes, I am not a Stepford Wife. You would be right, I work every day so the outfits you see me in are the ones I wore to work that day. I don’t have the luxury of taking my pictures and then editing them right then. I edit them when I get home and there are many times when I wish I had a re-do. However, it is too late by then and I have a post to write. You will occasionally get a sour note if you follow my blog but then you probably are already aware of that. Hahaha 50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTI’ll just go ahead and jump into what I don’t like about this outfit. I don’t like the sweater! In fact, I didn’t like the sweater when I had it on so I have no idea why I didn’t change it then. I must have just been stubborn. I don’t like the color and I don’t like the band at the bottom. But none of that matters now because I wore the stupid thing. I am not even going to tell you where you can buy one like it. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTI do like the infinity scarf but I didn’t notice that I didn’t have it pulled together good. I don’t like the separation between the two layers so that you can see the sweater. This scarf in a dark burgundy and it has little puckers all over it. I bought the scarf last year at Cato’s but here are some that are similar and not one of them is over 14.00.

50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTThe camel colored pants are Old Navy Pixie pants. These are the longer length version but it wouldn’t matter since I paired them with my knee boots. I wear cropped pants and ankle pants with knee boots, that way I get more wear out of my purchases.

50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTI bought my quilted vest last year from a little boutique up the road. I looked back to where I wore the vest last year (here) and was shocked when I read that it had a hood that I had detached. What? I didn’t even remember that it had a hood. Lol! The vest is fur lined, which I love, and that helps to keep you warm. The olive color and the leather accents are really in style right now.

50 IS NOT OLD | REAL AND HONESTI am thankful that you have chosen to follow me on my blog journey. I may not always “hit it out of the park” but I will always show you affordable fashions that you can replicate for yourself. I am a “real” person and I will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly. Haha! At least you know I am honest.

But you were having a great hair day so that cancels out a bad outfit!!! Have a Merry Christmas! PS- I am loving the Lash Boost!

  2. Good morning Tania – I agree with Doreen’s comments you can make just about every outfit work. Love you blog – it’s makes me feel like I can pull it together. I remember a post you did where you describe how to pose for pictures.. (my husband even remember me talking about it) Do you remember which post it was? I’ve enjoyed reading your older post but I can’t find the one I’m looking for. Help please 🙂 Merry Christmas

  3. You’re so cute — I love what you share…..and sometimes I too, hit it right and hit it wrong. Yesterday I was dressed like an 80 year old woman! Oh well. Thanks for sharing every day! Have an awesome Christmas!

I look forward to your posts each day! You do a great job styling your outfits AND have such a sense of humor about yourself, that when you do feel like your outfit “misses the mark” – (which is rare in my opinion) you call yourself out on it. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to the style tips coming in 2017!!

  7. You make me smile every single day. I love all of your outfit posts but it’s the fact that you are so real (and make me smile!) that brings me back daily. You are a blessing to all of your followers and we all love you! Merry Christmas!

  8. I have to admit, when I first looked at your outfit I thought it was a sweatshirt. My second thought was, wow, she can even make a sweatshirt look stylish! I think you look great!

Monochromatic from head to toe: I’m seeing all the tones from the colors of your hair, excluding the burgundy scarf & handbag!! Not crazy about the sweater either; think it should be longer than the vest for better proportion, IMHO. Love your blog and look forward to it every day with all the comments you make as a “real” person.
