PINK AND GRAY FOR SPRING
The sun was out today and I even took a picture and put it on my Facebook page to prove it. It has rained so much I told Joe that we need to have a sale at the lumber company. He asked me what kind of sale I had in mind and I told him, “Ark Supplies.” He looked at me and said, “What?” He just looked so confused, so I told him again. Once again he asked me what I was talking about. I finally yelled at him, “ARK!!!!” Oh, okay, I get it!
Have you ever heard the expression that men marry women like their mom and women marry men like their daddy? Let me tell you a little story about my dad and you decide. My mom had cooked supper and had it on the table. I am not sure what it was but I think it had turnip greens in the menu. I am not a fan of turnip greens but I know that some people like to season them with vinegar. My mom was busy on the computer and dad asked her for the vinegar but I don’t think she heard him. He asked again for the vinegar, but again mom was preoccupied so she didn’t hear him. Finally, he shouted, “VINEGAR!!!!” Everybody about jumped out of their skin he was so loud. It has become a phrase that is used in my household often. Ever so often Joe or I one will yell, “VINEGAR” when the other one is not paying attention. Hahaha Maybe I am the one like daddy.
I LOVE this top! I just got this in the other day c/o the Purple Poppy. I styled another one of their items last year (see here) and I know them to have quality products. When they contacted me again I was chomping at the bit to look at their website. I looked at the tops and the sweaters which are usually my favorites items but I was intrigued by the category that said Before & After. This line is now called Whimsy Rose and I am going to forewarn you that every one of the tops in this line is adorable! I narrowed down my choice to two or three and finally just told them for them to pick. This one is called the Desert Bloom Blush. It just screams spring!!! This is very light-weight and has the waffly texture of insulated underwear. That might sound strange, but it is adorable.
The bracelets I have on look like they were just made for this top. They are the Broedrick and the Ezra (sold out). I decided to wear a Plunder Posse from October, along with my Believe necklace, and I thought it looked fine. However, as I was leaving for work I stopped and check the mailbox. I immediately threw off the Posse necklace and instead put on my brand new Heritage necklace which is one of the Valentine’s Day specials. I swear they look like I bought all this to go with my top!!!
Gray on gray on gray. I styled this purse on yesterday’s post so I won’t link to it again. Instead, let me tell you about my new gray leather boots by Halston. These are the perfect color of gray, I would call them a medium gray. They have a very small wedge heel and a pointy toe.
The darker gray pants are just a little too big for me. By the end of the day I had a saggy butt, thankfully the tunic top covered most of that. Haha! I am not sure what the name of the pants was because I have cut out the tag. They must have had an itchy tag to go along with a saggy butt. Lol!
Be sure to check out the Purple Poppy for a cute and fun top for spring. It made me feel better just wearing it.
I have had lots and lots of messages about joining Plunder and Rodan and Fields this month. January is the perfect time to join and get your year off to a good start. Plunder is hosting an incentive this month which ends on the 31st. They are giving you an additional 3 pieces of jewelry, just because. If you want to sign up go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and hit the Become A Stylist button. If you need some more information then just message or email me.
Rodan and Fields is a company that is going places. It is a HUGE opportunity for someone looking to have a business from their home. The doctors have already paved the way with Proactive and it is pretty much a household name. You do not have to try to get them to understand that the products WORK! I am super excited to be building a team here in the US and I even have some ladies in Australia that are hopping on board. I would love to have a consultant in every state plus Canada. Ask yourself if you know anyone who has skin. That is pretty much the big picture. Everyone can use R & F so put the doubts aside and actually BELIEVE. Go to www.tstephens5.myrandf.biz and go down until you see the Be You Own CEO button. Email me with any questions at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

Oh haha Tania! I love your stories! My husband and I have been married 32 years and it is hard not to get frustrated sometimes! My beef is his not getting my attention by saying “Julie”, if not I lose half what he’s saying! Oh Lord this makes me sound old! So I can relate to the “ark” and “vinegar” stories! Love your spring is coming top!
I love that top.
I’ve been looking through several of your posts since I’ve just started getting your e mails and I love how you are not afraid of colors and putting different patterns together. Your my kind of stylist. I like to be different and not look like every one else. I also love your “BLESSED” necklace. How and where can I get one?
Tara, my necklace came from a little shop in Marietta. It is by Monarch Inspirations and Amazon carries a few items from them. Check them out. Thanks for following. 🙂

My heart stopped when I saw this picture because on my phone the pants, boots and purse all look purple! While I love the top, the whole outfit in purple was stunning for a purple freak like me! The outfit is lovely on you Tania even if not all purple! ?
I love the Desert Bloom Blush top! The colors are beautiful! You always look so darn cute. I enjoyed your vinegar story because it made me think of my family. I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. There were 10 kids in my family and now there are only 4 of us. We have so many funny stories that we love sharing with our kids when we are all together. We can’t wait for our upcoming visit in February.
I understand the story. My mom never worked outside the home and was at dads beck and call. Funny story. Needless to say I didn’t follow suit. My husband would be yelling vinegar a lot. Ha, Ha! That was another time our parents lived in. Your top is lovely. So pretty and soft. Happy Friday!
Pink and grey my favourite:-)
Today I posted about styling Winter Sporty Chic – you might like it too 😉

My sister’s family yells VINEGAR as well. It is pretty funny. Hahaha
That is such a beautiful top and I love the grey boots, Tania!!!!
Enjoyed your vinegar story!!!!
My dad doesn’t talk a lot so that made it even funnier. Lol!
What a lovely top to brighten these gloomy January days. It’s true, you can affect your mood with the colours you wear and this has such a happy feel ?
Color really does affect your mood. I try to watch when I start wearing a lot of black and gray and try to add some color to brighten my spirit.
