PASTELS FOR SPRING
Joe and I traveled to Richmond yesterday and it was so gorgeous along the way. The sun was shining, at least most of the trip, and the temperatures were in the HIGH 70’s. It is crazy to think that this is February. I know that the cooler weather will strike again but it is so nice to dream right now. I looked out the back door and saw that my big Weeping Willow has green leaves starting to pop. I am just thrilled at the thoughts of spring!!!
We stopped on our way up at a scenic overlook that overlooked the Shenandoah Valley. Oh my goodness, it was so pretty. We took a couple of pics but since he had a meeting at 2:00 we didn’t have time to tarry long. Richmond is on the other end of the state from where I live. It was a 6-hour drive up there, the meeting, and then another 6-hour drive back. We are getting good at these type of trips it appears. The last time we pulled one of these was when we took our daughter to Atlanta to catch her plane back to Alaska. That was another 6-hour there and back. I keep telling myself that “50 is not old, 50 is not old,” but my butt keeps saying, “this trip is too long, this trip is too long.”
I loved my latest shipment from the Trunk Club. I ended up keeping several things and exchanging a couple others because of the sizing. This top by Vince Camuto is perfect for the upcoming Spring weather. I like the tiered ruffle sleeve and the super soft material on the top. However, the light lilac color is not the best for me. I feel washed out but it could be because I am white as a ghost from being in the house all winter. As soon as I saw these pictures I went and put on some sunless tanner. lol! This top does come in several more colors like light blue, light pink, and a sage green color. The trend that I am seeing is going shorter and boxy for tops. As long as they are not a CROP-show your belly-top then I will be alright.
I love the Carmen necklace for summer. The color of the beads are so pretty and then the cute small tassels are just icing on the cake. This necklace is adjustable from 18″ to 21″. The key and tassel bracelet is no longer available but the turquoise key Lauren earrings are still in the catalog. These beautiful items can be found by going to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and picking a party that has my name on it.
I thought that these platform espadrilles were cute when I bought them at the end of last summer. I had a tan back then and they had to look better than they do against my pasty white legs. I am not so sure now but I’ll wait until it gets warmer and I can wear them with shorts. Since they are almost the same color as my legs a tan would have to help.I have to admit that the tassels on the top are what really sold me on the shoes. The brand of these shoes is Isaac Mizrahi. They have a leather upper and a cushioned sole for comfort. And, btw, they are on sale!
My pants are a printed pair of Pixie Pants from Old Navy. I bought these at least a year ago, maybe longer. Honestly, they are not my favorite pair of pants because the colors are muted. I normally like a brighter color palette. I do like printed pants though because they give you so many options to match a top to. This pair that I have on is mostly in shades of purple and yellow.

Tania, great outfit. The trip sounded long but beautiful. I am going to check out the Trunk Club. I like how you said you can return whatever and even send some stuff back not from that current Trunk. As I woke up to 18 degrees out today cropped pants and flowered pants not on my list yet. But you have given me ideas again. I could wear that working with the children.
This is an adorable outfit on you. I have a top that color, would love to have a cute printed pant. Thinking spring too. I am thinking about the Cherry Blossom Festival coming in our nation’s capitol the end of next month. I’m following their bloom development on their facebook page, Cherry Blossom Festival. It’s so lovely.
Cute outfit, but I agree lilac is not the best color for you. Love the pants.
Lovely outfit!
