AFFORDABLE FASHIONS – AN OUTFIT UNDER $150
I usually feature affordable fashions on Mondays, but I’m running behind this week. So today, I’m featuring an outfit under $150 that is one you will be able to wear in lots of different ways.
AN OUTFIT UNDER $150 CONSISTS OF:
Cardigan
Styling an entire outfit under $150 isn’t easy these days, especially when that encompasses a dress, chunky cardigan, large tote, and a pair of shoes. The Taupe Open Front Cardigan is an excellent fall-neutral color! This shade will go with a lot of fall clothing, so you’ll get a lot of wear with it. I love the 100% cotton material and the chunky textured stitching. I ordered a large for the oversized look, but a medium would have fit just fine.
Dress
The Fitted Short-Sleeve Midi Dress in oatmeal is a basic t-shirt style dress. The rib-knit material has plenty of stretch, but the fit is very fitted. I would probably wear this with shapewear so I would feel more confined. I like the side split and deep scoop neck detail of the dress, and I can see wearing it with a denim jacket and sneakers, a blazer and heels, or even a bright-colored cardigan with a scarf that ties it all together. I’m wearing a size large, and I sure wouldn’t want to wear anything smaller!
Work Tote
This is a large Work Tote in Taupe, and it will be great for anyone carrying their laptop or iPad to work. This work tote looks so dressy, and I like it way better than a traditional briefcase. When you’re styling an outfit under $150, you wouldn’t think it would be possible to include a large tote like this. I might even use this tote as my personal item when I fly to California next week since it looks like it would hold many items. It is a great neutral color that would go with any outfit, so you wouldn’t have to worry about switching out your things when you change clothing.
Heels
This gives you another look at the cardigan, and you can see the length of it from the back. You can also see the width of the work tote and how much this baby will hold. I’ve tried similar Woven Open Toe Sandals before, but the fit was always off for some reason.
These heels fit me perfectly, and I like them way better than the more expensive ones I’ve tried before. I prefer leather shoes, but since I like these so much, I’m keeping them. They run true to size, and I’m wearing the brown version. I also love the Camel color, which looks to be a tiny bit darker.
I didn’t mention my jewelry, but I provided the links for you. The jewelry wasn’t part of the outfit under $150 post, but I thought the outfit needed it to finish the look.

Tania,
I love your website! What brand and color lipstick are you wearing in the post on 8/30 titled “An outfit under $150.” I’m looking at the picture of the woven open toe sandal.
Thanks!
love this outfit! thank you for showing neutrals that I wouldn’t normally wear….
I love your posts and have purchased several items you have styled for us. ☺️
But I do have a question, and that is how do you keep your necklaces from getting twisted together? I fight the battle whenever I wear multiple necklaces. I love the look and keep trying but it’s not working for me. Do you have a secret to share? Thanks!
Julie, some necklaces tend to tangle more than others. For some reason, this pairing isn’t too bad; I sometimes even sleep in them and they aren’t a problem.
Great outfit Tania! I hope that your daughter will be around to look after Lucy while y’all are away.
This would be a great “save or splurge” example! Even before counting the jewelry, you could pair a $1200 St. John Knit dress with a $200 Aritzia cardigan, $250 Kate Spade sandals, and a $1200 Marsell tote bag and honestly it would look the same!
