ORANGE AND MAROON
I almost couldn’t wear this outfit, it was really, really was hard. Does anybody have any idea why this University of Tennessee fan would have a hard time wearing this outfit??? Lol! I wore this to church and I had at least 5 or 6 people come up to me and tell me they loved my outfit. They were all Virginia Tech fans. Hahaha! I can’t help it if I am a Tennessee girl living in a Virginia world.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t know anybody that attends UT and I have never met Peyton Manning. There is really no reason that I should be a UT fan other than the fact that I was born in Tennessee. Isn’t it funny how you can root and pull for one team or another, and that extends to professional teams also? I used to love the Minnesota Vikings because I liked Fran Tarkenton. I have always been a football fan and will watch a game if I sit down long enough. Haha, I have only been to one professional game and it was pre-season. I know it was the Baltimore Ravens but I can’t remember who they played. I just remember not being too impressed because they just seemed to lolly-gag around and not really even try. It was probably because it was pre-season. I did go see a professional basketball game and it was in Washington. I went to see Michael Jordan right before he retired but they didn’t seem too intense either. The professional baseball games I have been to have been better than the football or the basketball, but baseball can be a little boring.
This print cardigan is one by Isaac Mizrahi and I bought it at the overstock store in town. Several of you have asked the name, address, telephone number, etc. They do not have a website but they do have a Facebook page. The Outlet Store is the name. I knew the minute I bought this cardigan that it was Virginia Tech colors but I bought it anyway. I like the colors and I like the print. Here are a couple cute cardigans by Isaac Mizrahi and they are not a bad price.
I have had many messages about my favorite Plunder pieces. I am going to do a post soon, maybe even this week and I’ll tell you why a little later. I can tell you that this necklace will be included in my favorites blog. This is called the Destiny and I ordered it in an “S” so that my daughter or DIL could also wear this piece. My gold and pearl bracelet was a Monday Madness special so it is no longer available, however, the silver version is called the Wanda. The solid gold bangle is called the Aisha and it is inscribed, “My Faith Is Bigger Than My Fears”
Plunder will be coming out with a new catalog in April so that means a lot of current jewelry will be retiring. In fact, some of the items may already be sold out like the Anita. I think that one is already gone. I can’t believe they are retiring my boho bangles. I love those things, I am glad I have already managed to get all of them. Lol! Grab them now if you want any of them before they are gone. Remember, I am refunding 15% off any order that is over $50.00 not including shipping and tax. Go to www.plunderdesign.com/party/believe to shop.
I bought this midi length maroon sweater skirt at Cato this fall. I wore it last time with a jacket, but I think I like this look better. If you liked the necklace in the other post, you better order it now. This is one that is retiring this time and when it is sold out there won’t be any more made.
My Dooney & Bourke satchel purse has been a good one. When you invest money in a purse like this you know that you can carry it for a long time. It is very sturdy and even though I am not easy on my purses, it has held up and still looks great.
Joe and I are off to the Big Easy. Is that what they still call New Orleans? Anyway, that is where I am headed. You know I never have any posts done ahead of time so we will have to see what I can come up with. That is why I thought I might do a “favorites” post. Maybe one on some of my favorite outfits, maybe one on Plunder and one of Rodan and Fields and the business associated with each. I may and then again I might just upload a bunch of photos from the trip. I have a tendency to be having so much fun that I forget to take photos, I guess we will all just have to wait and see.

That is a fantastic color combination and the whole thing looks great on you. I never would have associated that with teams from anywhere. It’s just classy and beautiful.
This HOKIE fan loves your outfit! You look good in those colors, too.
You have absolutely sold me on this sweater. When I first seen your outfit it made me say “OH WOW”! When I seen that it was Isaac Mizrahi, I went directly to the QVC web site and ordered me one. I know that you got a better deal BUT I had to have it! I love Isaac’s sweaters, they are very well made. So wish I had a “over stock store” in my neighborhood. I am definitely going to have to visit this store. ABSOLUTELY love your style! Your mix of colors is what sets you apart.
Wow the outfit looks lovely !!!.Do you mean you had difficulty with it because they are the colours of a team you do not support ? I don’t know anything about American football ( or English for that matter ) but I do know that the orange cardigan is beautiful and suits you so well.
Haha, Pauline. No, I really don’t have a problem wearing these colors because of VT. I am just teasing some of my friends. ?
Only YOU could make me like that color combo. LOL I have no ties to Va Tech, but I have ALWAYS thought a color-blind man chose that combo. It’s hideous. However, this looks cute together! ?????????????? I’m posting, but I really have no words. ; )
“Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulet” as they say………..safe travels and have a wonderful time! #jealous (We were supposed to travel this weekend but a couples shower popped up. It is one we cannot miss. The bride is the daughter of my precious friend, Stacy, who passed in 2012.)
XOXO, Brandye
I bet you end up having a wonderful time this weekend! Joe and don’t travel a lot because we hate the process of getting to where we are going. We enjoy the places once we get there but living in Grundy makes it difficult to get anywhere.
As a Dutch girl I don’t know what the colors mean, but I love them!
Not a combination of colours I would ever have thought could work, Tania, but it works perfectly and I love it!!!! Thanks for always inspiring me to try new things!!!!! Unfortunately no overstock store in George!!!!! LOL!!!!
Have a great day!!!!!
Hugz
I don’t know if anyone says this any more, but the first word that popped into my head about this outfit is “smart”. And soooo classy!
Never would I have thought of pairing maroon and orange, but you look fabulous! Love the look. That sweater would be great with so many other looks too. Thanks for making me think about other color options. Have fun on your trip!
I was trying to figure out how I would get the 20% off the R&F if I ordered?

Tania-this outfit is stunning, and the color combination so unusual. You look fab in the sweater dress. Every time you show that D+B purse I just drool; love it!
Love the Destiny necklace – how can I order it? Thanks!
I love that necklace, Lisa. To place a order just go to http://www.plunderdesign.com/party/believe
Thank you!!!
Wow! What a great color combination! I have an apple-shape and find that dressing the solid color, like your maroon, from top to bottom is so flattering and then adding that pop of color from your sweater just makes it so eye-catching!

You’re right! When that happens it helps to create a very slimming effect.
Oh your outfit does look great! So do you. But I must say “Roll Tide, Roll” haha…..I was born & always have lived in VA, but love Bama football. Still loving your posts. Enjoy New Orleans and have a beignet for me please.
I can now root for Bama a little since Kiffen is no longer there. ?
It’s amazing how much influence sports has on our perspectives of colors. Whether it’s an actual shade or a color combination, our point of reference is often a sports team. Bravo to you for this usual color combo and perseverance against their association.

Love the whole outfit! You look great!
I love this outfit and how the colors work together. Sure, I can see where Virginia Tech fans would be all over the skirt and top color, but it looks amazing with that cardigan. The whole look is super slimming and I thought at first it was a dress! Great with the boots and the bag, this one is a winner for sure!!
I just happened to have a sweater that matched the skirt. That always creates a slimming look.
Have a fabulous time in New Orleans, guys!! Eat a beignette for me!
And what a fun color combo. I just did a burgundy & red and thought I was being crazy…ha ha!!

I never would have thought of wearing orange and maroon together but I have seen it around quite a bit and really like it. I have also seen maroon with red, another no-no in the past, but I do like that combo as well.
Hi Tania – you’ve done the matching thing, that’s why this outfit is so great – look at your nails and the dress and then bag and shoes – all super fab!!!

It really looks great with the burgundy dress. Glad you persevered.
Great outfit, I’m getting braver with colour since reading your blog.
This outfit is well coordinated and looks great on you; however, I’m just not a fan of orange but do like the
burgundy sweater & skirt. Bag, boots and jewelry coordinate beautifully too. Need to into the Plunder jewelry ( I have 2 sets that I bought from a neighbor who is a rep. and I really like the style & price!
