Can you ever have too many jackets? The answer is NO, lol. I absolutely LOVE a great coat. Outerwear can make or break your outfit. Got on a boring pair of jeans? No worries. All they will remember is that great coat. 🙂 Today, I’m bringing you My Favorite Statement Jackets To Buy Now!

We all know how important it is to have that one perfect outerwear piece that pulls together any winter outfit. Whether you’re running errands or heading to a fun outing, these jackets are just what you need to stay stylish and warm. Let’s dive in and talk about these fab options, each with its own vibe and flair. Get ready for some serious jacket love!

What Should I Look For In A Statement Jacket?

When choosing the best statement coats, you want to consider a few key factors to ensure they stand out while still being functional. Look for unique details like faux fur accents or fleece linings for added warmth and texture. Materials are important, too—leather jackets and faux leather pieces are classic and edgy, while cashmere and cotton options offer a softer, more luxurious feel. Check for practical features like interior pockets and detachable hoods for versatility, especially if you want to layer with scarves or a thick sweater.

Brands like Free People and Stella McCartney often have standout pieces that blend style with sustainability, and shopping from retailers like Nordstrom or Saks Fifth Avenue means you’re getting high-quality options. Don’t forget to check for discounts and free shipping to snag a great deal! Lastly, whether you’re opting for a bold fringe jacket, a structured blazer, or even a classic tuxedo style, make sure it reflects your personal style and fits comfortably at the cuffs and sleeves.

A wool coat is like your favorite pair of jeans—classic, reliable, and always in style. If you don’t already own one, now’s the time to grab this staple. Wool coats are warm enough for most winter days and look great with just about everything. They’re my go-to for wearing with dressier outfits like a dress, skirt, or trousers in the winter.

This stunning red coat came home with me from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I’m already excited to wear it when cold weather arrives! If red isn’t your color, it comes in two other neutral shades! I’m wearing it over an absolutely gorgeous jumpsuit that would be so pretty for a fall or winter wedding.

Albury Wool Blend Coat (Size 10)

This gorgeous green wool blend coat will surely turn heads! I rarely button my coats and prefer them to hang open to show my outfit underneath. But I wanted to show how nice the double-breasted coat looked with the rows of gold buttons. I’m wearing a size 10, which fits perfectly.

Dark Walnut Double Breasted Coat from Talbots
Dark Walnut Double Breasted Coat (Medium)

I love this long statement coat in dark walnut, but it is a little too big on me. It looks fine in the photos, but since I prefer to wear my coats open, I would need a smaller size. The dark walnut color is right on trend, and I love the double-breasted style! This is a great coat that looks dressy but can also be worn with jeans.

A lovely collection of coats. I love a beautiful coat, but sadly our weather in Georgia doesn’t always cooperate with me.
I picked up the cute faux leather puffer jacket. Looks great for errands or even an early morning walk. Plus any jeans outfit, for sure!

Thanks for the reminder about how we don’t always see when somebody else landed on their butt before they finally made it. it is too easy to think everybody else was great to start with, but they’re probably thinking the same thing about you.

  10. Gayle Davis says:

I so seldom wear a coat that I actually don’t own a good, basic one to wear if it does get cold enough to need it. I think I need to try to find one just in case we get those snows we are so hoping for!!

  11. Roberts Lisa says:

according to my husband, YES, you can have too many coats lol! I just donated 3 this year then turned around and bought myself a parka. I also have a couple wool coats but I sure like that gray pea coat!

    1. Whaat do husband’s know. Lol!

  14. I have several coats and jackets. Problem is it doesn’t get cold enough to wear often. I have a beautiful green wool coat from Banana Republic that would love to wear but it doesn’t cold enough around Christmas to wear it. Love the coats you showed especially the red one.

My question is in regards to the belts on these coats. I live in Northern California, where the weather is mild, our coldest days, maybe 38 degrees, but the wind makes it feel a little cooler, sometimes. So, a belt is not always essential, unless one is going to be out in the elements for a long period. Last weekend, it was cold & windy, dressed up for the holiday performances, I was attending for the granddaughters, grabbed my best warm coat, which has a zipper, snaps & a belt. The belt seemed to always be in the way, I tried to tuck the ends into the pockets, tried to tie off at the loops, tried to attach all in the back. By the end of the day, I had taken the belt completely off. The buckle end is very heavy and weighed down the side it was on.

    1. Usually, I tie the belt in the back in a knot so that it doesn’t come undone. If the belt is super long, then I’ll also tuck the ends of the belt into the loops to keep them from hanging down.

  17. Beautiful coat selections

  18. That green coat is beautiful! I also love the checkered Ann Taylor one! Happy Friday ❤️🎄❤️

  19. Love the red and off white coats! Beautiful!

  22. Cathy Alves says:

Good Morning thank you for the great ideas for coats and jackets. I already purchased the white coat from Ann Taylor when they were having the 50 percent off sale last weekend. The coat looks great. Love the puffer jacket from old navy. Just ordered the jacket. Thank you for all your great style ideas. You are wonderful. Merry Christmas to you and your family

    1. That coat is gorgeous! I’m glad you were able to snag it while it was on sale.

  23. Beautiful jackets but in Texas I rarely wear a jacket. I will be checking out the warm workout clothes though!

  24. Terry Dupree says:

I LOVE coats and it seems that each year I tell myself “self NO MORE coats” and then the sales happen and then……! I do pretty much always button, zip, tie my coats shut. In OK the wind really does “come sweeping down the plain” and I might freeze (or blow away) if I wasn’t zipped up. Love your posts and great sense of humor too – and the daily scripture! To Him be the glory!

    1. I have a thing for coats too. Those and handbags seem to be what I love the most.

  25. I love beautiful coats, but rarely is it cold enough in SC to need one. I tend to wear it and then forget it and have to go back in. The red trench is especially stunning.

  26. Love the first red coat you showed. I tend to overheat in most coats so have to be careful about not choosing one that is too heavy.

  27. Linda Shearer says:

Great coats. Love the plaid pea coat!

  28. Becky Kerwin says:

So many pretty coats!! I need a warm coat this year but sadly they are all too long or too big for my short frame! Lol! I’ll keep looking

  29. Love these coats — the green one caught my eye. I think it’s always nice to have a dash of color in the middle of a white — or grayish — winter.

    1. Colorful clothing make me happy. 🥰

  30. Yes I am a coat lover! Thx cute ones!

  31. Tammy McLean says:

Agreed you can’t have too many coats ! LOL . I enjoyed the various colors , styles , and price points you offered . Thank you

  32. Phyllis Martin says:

Oh so many choices! But one rose to the top for me. The Ann Taylor trench – lovely!

  33. I love coats too! thanks for sharing your finds.

  34. Yes, my weakness, coats, jackets and sweaters…etc….Great post, classic pieces!

  35. Vickie Dudley says:

I grew up in Texas and moved to east Tennessee 20ish years ago. I arrived in town with one hip-length leather coat. And then it snowed! My husband and I found me a deep red down filled coat on clearance pretty quickly, and I still wear that coat. My point is that I didn’t know that many coats/jackets of varying weight and lengths were a necessity in life. 😀 Now I get it. Thank you for a great post — that green coat is stunning!
